By the way, is there any news on the Amiga "Maxi" from RetroGames Ltd? Do we know anything at all about it except that it's gonna have a working keyboard? They sure like to keep people in the dark:)

Nope. Have you heard that it will definitely have a working keyboard? All I have heard is that it is a "Full sized console" This will be disappointing if true. But I have a Pi5 so I don't care LOL!

If it cracks you up, you've been living under a rock for the past couple of decades. Like with any other platform in the retrocomputing world, the surviving base of original Amigas has been gradually aging out and dying beyond repair. That's a big reason why a number of replacement solutions have surfaced over the years - e.g. MiniMig, A600GS, etc. Don't think of Amiga as only the hardware from the 1980's and 1990's. Think of Amiga in much broader terms.

What makes me sad is the "purists" that think that an accelerator board for A1200 doesn't make it an A1200 any longer. They also think all type of emulation is bad and they will never go near the next gen Amigas, such as the A1222+ or X5000. It is almost impossible to get hold of 68k Amiga hardware these days and when you do, the prices for such things are sky high. It was cheaper and easier for me to get hold of an AmigaONE X5000/020 board than trying to get hold of a fairly expanded A1200.

I get the emulation and all that crap but when it becomes almost exclusively it, what’s left from the original machine
