Pirated films and TV series will never be beaten because as soon as they take down one site another one pops up with almost the same content as the site that's taken down. All they have to do is change one letter or two and the service is back up within days

Here's the thing concerning piracy. These studios/networks were perfectly fine with Cable Operators gouging the customer for reduced channels and services, year after year, and forcing the customer to pay rate increases for channels that they didn't want. While refusing overwhelming demand from the consumer for an A La Carte service for decades. They claimed that it was impossible. But NOW, like MAGIC all of a sudden, it's possible. Too little, too late. These kids are just too good at creating these pirate sites. It's like fighting a Hydra. You take one down and three more pop up in its place.

They know this bro. So what they are doing is going hard and furious for the big fish to shut them down and instill FEAR. No one wants to gamble on paying some no-name shadowy service $200 for a year of “cheap” TV when it could be shut down tomorrow. And that is the point. They don’t need to shut every single one down, and they know that is impossible.

@@curtispavlovec There is no such thing as Big Fish in piracy. It's an illegal industry. These Television and Movie Studios go after the viewers as well. They will subpoena and take ISP providers to court to get information on customers.

I stopped live streaming services over two years ago. I also haven't had Netflix in a few years. I rotate services based who making an offer. Now, I have Apple+ free thru t-mobile, Peacock for $19.99 a year, Paramount+ for $24 a year, Britbox for $1.99 per month. My price special with Britbox was expiring and as I was cancelling, they offered me a free extra month. I keep reminders on my phone calendar for when to cancel services and I take advantage of Black Friday deals.

It's going to be difficult long term to get more for your money using streaming than cable and its more of a hassle, so I think we're going to see consolidation that will end up costing the same as cable. Cable is very expensive, but it's a one-stop shop and is always on in one place.

I rotate some services and I keep some services as fixed services. E.g. Prime video comes with the Prime membership. So I keep it as I use the delivery service. Netflix, I have again, but will probably close it again. Not enough stuff on it for me to keep it all the time for the price they charge. Disney+ is what I use most of the time as it has the most overall content I like. Also, I'm going back to physical media more as well. Streaming can just be a pain at times. Physical media is the balance between getting the best quality, and not having to worry about licensing and losing shows. Once you've paid for the disc(s), you have a license to view that content as long as the disc lasts. I also use Plex, and some other solutions for local streaming of content I own, or videos from KZbin that I like (such as gaming videos) to watch offline.

Despite being a law-abiding citizen, I'm actually pulling for the illegal streaming services. They exist because of the high-priced legal ones. Or in the case of sports, things like ridiculous local team blackouts and lack of availability on legal services. Legal entities are doing this to themselves.

I have Spectrum cable TV and internet ultra. I wanted to cut my cost of home entertainment. The mantra shouted my many was "Cut the cord." I never found a financial benefit for doing so. I never found that any streaming service did not have the programs we use most on cable tv. The best we could do in our area was an over the air antenna. With that we have access to most of our choices on cable, and we picked up a couple that cable does not provide. Overall that saves us $22.20 per month. I can purchase a tv cable box, but that wont save me much. Buying my own router/wifi did save me a bunch.

I cut the cord in 2012, when cable companies were still making fun of cord cutters. Have an antenna, a Roku connected to each TV, and I've emassed an impressive, alphabetized, dvd/blueray library. (I have more than the local library, and also make people sign them out, when they borrow any) I have both TV series and movies, obtained by putting them on my birthday, xmas list, garage sales and the local pawn shop, who sells them for $1 each. It's a college town, so they have a ton, since many students now only do streaming, and sell what they brought from home, to get cash. I refuse to pay for streaming. For $70 per month, all my needs are met, for internet (hot spot, unlimited, and never been throttled), phone (2 cells, one used as the "house" phone) and TV. In my area, a landline, with no long distance calls, costs over $50. per month. So, eleven years later, I'm paying less than a third of what internet/cable/phone used to cost me a month, and saved thousands.

I had LOCAST a few years ago. This was streaming service that you could access local programming. Start-up funding was provided by AT&T. This service was only $5, and a great value. Then...all of a sudden, after years of service, they were in court with the same AT&T (and other cable companies) to shut them down. And poof! It was gone. Fortunately, I was paying month-to-month and didn't get burned. As far as "Pirate Streaming" is concerned, I guess their name says it all.

I remember the promise of cable tv from decades ago; tv without ads ; then under many circumstances, one is forced into cable tv because there was no real other option, short of satellite tv. Then cable tv/satellite tv started increasing the amount of ads to the point of ridiculous; 5 minutes of show and 5 minutes of commercials. Heck, if you watched ONLY 15 minutes of TV, you might actually end up watching 10 minutes of commercials and 5 minutes of content. And be gouged $100+ a month for the privilege. Want to watch TV in another room? Another $10 to 15 ! . Three Rooms - ok $45 for JUST equipment. Yes, I literally watched TV for 15 minutes to 45 minutes each day, and well, I'd have to go with a premium subscription and pay $150 to 200 a month just to watch JUST literally 5 to 15 minutes of actual content. That was it for me. I cut the cord. More importantly, I cut the bill .. To pay $150 a month, and be forced to watch commercials after commercials, AND LITERALLY be paying for that is RIDICULOUS. Was a fan of some shows at the time, but heck, even those shows started to go "woke" , so much for that. I've considered a premium streaming service; but I use Amazon Prime - but barely. Again, it's the lack of time; I spend more time trying to find some content that interests me more than what I actually watch as far as shows. Amazon is just like cable TV; 200 channels, and almost nothing that I desire to watch. And the content is starting to become a bit too much "woke". To be honest, I enjoy Pluto TV far more... And KZbin ..

History channel has a few of the latest release shows available for free for a month or two. So, we watch them on the TV via the Mac mini. YT also has many movies that are free, some in 4K if you are into that. There are many ways to watch content you want. I am not sure as to who is to blame here, we got a fire stick. I really know nothing about these things. But the wife decided she wanted to get Hulu. After about a year or so I got to looking at the bill. Our bill went from $10 a month to $100 a month. I had a hell of a time trying to get in contact with the people at Hulu. Ended up having to close my checking account and reopening another one, to keep them from taking our money. Then one day they call, and I explained to them that we were being over charged. So they tell me that they could not do anything about it. They told me to talk to my bank. I call the bank and they said they would look into it. The bank calls me the next day and says we would get a refund, almost $1200. Never happened, I call the bank the next day. They claimed they did some kind of investigation and that we were responsible for the charges. So, I do not know if we were hacked by someone or if Hulu bent us over. One thing is certain the bank did not help. So, we dropped Hulu all together. And changed banks. How does one go from $10 month to $100 a month? These paid services might be great, but I am not going to use a paid service. I do not know about now but back then there was No customer support from Hulu.

I had to get rid of KZbin tv because I can't afford it anymore. they are the best but can't afford it with the rising cost of KZbin and internet service. It is bad when the cost of anything goes up. Now I don't watch any tv not even the local. All other streaming service has live tv but not live news in my area. Only KZbin tv had that and that is why I say KZbin was the best. Oh well so long tv.

WRG to AI - hell no, I want humans writing, people who have imagination, lived some of the stories they're writing, know what pain, joy, death and life are. I've seen some of the AI art and writing are like and most are shit. I go shopping I want humans waiting on me; I'm not getting payed , but stores want me to cash myself out! Ditch the machines.

the reason you won't go into more detail about the affordable care act with cheaper internet is because you know that most cable and internet companies start adding data caps on their cheap internet rates. you really need to explain that to people!!!!!

I used to have a lot of sympathy for screenwiters. But for a long time now they've had it good, much of that by putting themselves on a pedestal above other working people. They love to promote labels like "flyover states" and "rust belt" sneering at others who lost jobs before them and so have done a lot of damage to working families. I can't support their attempts to keep standing with a boot on the necks of others any more. Call it overdue karma. Now who's buggywhip is being gored, hmm?
