The Raiders haven't had a formidable defense in well over a decade and it's been noted plenty of times even on tape that offenses LOVE playing the Raiders because it's almost guaranteed 30+ points. Every year were heading in the right direction until were not and the refs save the penalties for the real season just like last year then injuries on defense once again start to pile up and again we don't have a super stud elite QB that can overcome the injuries like the elite QBS and teams and so the raiders are always stuck at mediocre its a simple concept the raiders have been following for years.

The defense will be improved. I think they will break into the top 20 maybe at around 16 couple that with the Offense they have I think they will surprise some people. Raiders will end up at 9-8 fighting for a wildcard. Their oline is solid and the dline has vastly improved.

Unless Bennett just has the playbook front to back, on top of talent, I imagine it's gotta be Shelley and Peters on the outside, with Hobbs very necessarily moving back to the slot where he shined brightest. Bennett may even just be a starter because he is that good, but even has the first backup, he'd get a lot of good playing time. He's definitely part of the future.

We were shining early on even with a QB handcuffed out of place, putting up numbers without a healthy te in waller, slot injury riddled renfrow. Hey a comparable QB not handcuffed by the system, Jacobs back with a healthy TE in mayor that can put up at least the same as an injured Waller. Renfrow healthy.. We can shine on offense even better than early on last season. And with a second year in this defenseive scheme adding peters and Wilson.. Players coming along for year two.. We're better

I'm sorry, what Raider defense have you been watching for the last 20 years? I can only imagine opposing offenses were salivating to play the Raiders defense. Off the top of my head I'm going to try and think of...5 legitimate play makers on their defense in the last decade. Mack, Woodson, Yannick, Maxx...and I'm at a loss after that. Maybe there is someone I've forgotten, but I highly doubt it. The worst scoring defense in NFL history over the last decade isn't a defense an opposing offense is afraid to play against.
