A marked Swedish Red Cross plane was wilfully shot down at Eket in 1969 killing all crew members and relief workers on his orders, a clear war crime. 2. Mr Murtala Mohammed who was a key organiser of the waves of pogroms against Igbos in Northern Nigeria in 1966 in which 50,000 people were killed. More importantly he was responsible for the massacre of the entire Igbo male population of Asaba in 1967. Do you want more? Aside from canonising them, why censor critical comments about these characters?
