I am not a Nigerian but I distinctly recall the sense of relief and near euphoria I experienced at his demise. Now, I hear many voices here praising the tyrant. I am not shocked. It is an old human foible to romanticize the virtues and goodness of the dead. Recently, I came across a similar story on KZbin about Abacha's alter ego in Uganda, Gen Iddi Amin Dada. Many Ugandans felt his reign was the best ever in the country's history. Again, I was unsurprised. I understand these things; the unending human urge to convert despots and evil people into saints. I do not begrudge them.

this is delusional. Those leaders were significantly great for their people. We live in a world where international interference is real. Why did NY times spread the apple propoganda news about Abacha's demise.? while nothing like that ever happened. Abacha resisted the west a lot, same as Idi Amin of Uganda. They are not saints, but they had better plans for their people. Good leaders are often those who server their people well. Putting up a huge resistance against western exploitation is considered a great quality if you understand that the west is Africa's biggest problem

I don't know all the events of June 8th 1998, but IMO, Major Al-Mustapha (rtd.) displayed professionalism, patriotism, courage and selflessness to handle things the way he did that day. He could have decided to seize power, execute all his seniors in the army and thereby, lead the country into very serious chaos. I thank him. In my street many of us who were ardent international politics followers cried like babies. I was sure we were going back to slavery with his death and that real enemies of the country would take over. Twice I have predicted doom for Nigeria twice it happened. When Abacha died I told people that it will take us at least 20 years to earn the respect a Nigerian passport holder had under Abacha or bring back sanity that he tried to instilled into our society. The moment he died we lost Bakasi peninsula, Free medical treatment stopped. PTF fund ended. Terrorist thrived and Nigerian passport become useless. The second time I made similar prediction was in 2015 election. I told people that a vote to Buhari was a vote to 20 years backwardness. The rest is history.

Some of the footage s used are not actually from the scenes but portray the action being talked about... So if airpeace is used then the editor used it to actions that talk about airplane. However, it may have gone unnoticed. Thanks for watching

How could a Head of State shake hands with a security officer from another country? Secondly, how could Mustapha took a route that is not permitted to the presidential Villa? It was all cooked stories. It was a different form of coup!

Maybe Abacha was not as bad as we people portrayed him, after all. He had his flaws, yes, but a tyrant, I don't think so.
