The Last Day for our Little Antigua

Whoever you are, wherever you live, losing a family member with four feet is hard. That last day, that empty carrier that comes home with you, from the Vets Office, it`s heartbreaking. I wish to say, I`m very sorry for the loss of Antigua, she lived such a long life, thanks in part to the love and kindness you gave her. It`s puts a hole in one`s heart. I just lost my oldest girl three weeks ago (Mar 8th) her name was Jasmine. We had her since she was 7 wks. old and lived to the age of 17.5 yrs. While we still have four more kitties with us to love just as much, Jammie was the Boss cat for many years. I miss her as much as you are missing Antigua. She`ll be in my heart till the day I die. We have her urn resting on one of her favorite spots in the living room. I find myself, saying, Good Morning to her and Good Night when it`s bed time. Better days are ahead, but they're always a loss. I hope you get to feeling better, I know how hard it can be, we love them even in death. Take Care..............

I’m so sorry for your loss, truly. You wrote a lovely memorial for Jasmine. My joy, Leo, is now 14 , with one year of diabetes, still going strong. I can’t think of being without him. Hi cat lady here , I lost my Mouse last week she had kidney failure she was 14 . I was with her Momma when she was born and I held her when she passed at the vets who are our friends. My baby is now home and missed so very much . Her Momma misses her . We rescued Momma when she pregnant and I kept her litter of four . I lost Spider and Jessie Bear. Cancer. We have a new rescue baby 8 weeks old Salem and a baby now 3 months old Bono . I have 23 cats some have special needs and 3 momma's and babies in our rescue cattery . RIP sweet baby Antigua ❤ so sorry for your loss! I lost my baby last year and he also lost so much weight in such a short time, even though he ate well, he was losing weight in a frightening way. He wasn’t old either, less then 10. I spent $10,000 on vets and they never gave me a reason for his illness. I only knew he was FIV positive and allergic to fleas. Stupid veterinarians just want your money and never really care for pets! I miss my baby dearly and would give anything for him to be with me ❤ Forever in my heart sweet Teddy! 😢

I didn't know Antiga, but after 2.30 minutes of listening to her dad's magnificent presentation, I was crying my eyes out. It's amazing what a little ball of love can do to our hearts, knowing that she was live that the whole family was living their final moments together. Thank you for introducing us to her and allowing us to see these difficult moments. I've always been convinced that when we die, no matter whether we go to heaven or elsewhere, there are all those we've loved waiting for us, impatient and happy to see us again. Everyone talks, laughs, tells anecdotes, reminisces, teases each other - in short, this reunion quickly turns into a festive occasion. So whoever has just left this world has no time to grieve or cry, he's too busy laughing and being happy. It's only for those who remain that it's painful. Goodbye Antiga 💙💙

we had a lhasa appso that gave birth to 7 babys ..we kept a female one..to keep mum company. through the years the mother dog caught one thing or another but lasted 14 years ..she then got cancer..and unfortunatly so did the daughter.. we had to take them to the vets ..together they sat next to each othere faceing as we had to give them both the injection.. we were there when the daughter took her 1st breath and were there when she took her last.

I'm sorry for your loss. That sounds so hard and awful for them but I'm glad they were together at the least. My first family dog was a Lhasa Appso named Channel. My mom was too chicken to take her to be put down and she asked me (at 16 years old) to do it because I had just got my license. I will never forget just handing her over to the nurse and saying goodbye then walking out. I was too young to know what to do, but I regret it to this day that she left this world by herself. I don't talk much to my mom these days because I learned over the years, she is a horrible person. Should've seen it that day.

We are dog people, but we love cats too. It is so hard to let a loving pet go. They ask so little of us, and give so much. All except two of our dogs died the same way. We had a vet come to our home, and ease them over the Rainbow Bridge on the bed we shared with them. The last thing ALL OF THEM saw was my tear stained face, and the last thing they heard my my emotion choked voice telling them how much I loved them, and how much I would miss them. I love you Jesse, Nelly, Pippi. Brandi, and George. I miss you all every day. We now have our little Gracie, but she doesn't take the place of any of you in our heart, she occupies her own special place.

My Madame PussPuss lived to be 22 years old, she was a rescue, and one of my soul pets, when I got up in morning I found her curled up in my slipper. I thought she made of had a neural event because her eyes were going from side to side. Called the vet to make an appointment to have it to sleep. I held her all day …. She was wrapped in blanket. Madame died in my arms. I did tell Madame I would be ok right before I saw the light leave her, and I no longer felt her heart beat. I buried her in my flower bed. I miss her everyday.

My Manny, my beloved third Siamese passed on my lap. He couldn’t walk any more so I put him on my lap sitting on my couch. I told him it was OK if he left. I kissed him and told him I love him. He took two breaths and was gone. I cried all night. Losing a pet is so hard. My two cats now I love dearly and not a day goes by that I don’t tell them how much I love them. They’re both very affectionate so I know they love me too.

What a heart stirring biography of a wonderful pet, friend, and family member. It always amazes me how much they become a part of our hearts and souls. I've lost several pets to old age and I still remember the pain of each one. I still have 1 with me. He's a 15 year old Blue Heeler/Border Collie mix. He has some health issues we are dealing with and hopefully he will be with us for a long while yet. I won't let him suffer, I will bear the suffering for him as he leaves this world. You are certainly blessed with love and caring for the life of your pets. They have given me life when I almost gave it up. I thank God every day they, one by one, found home with me!!!

I’m crying a million buckets of tears. I had to put my baby down Oct. 24 of 2023. When I got him at the shelter in 2008 they said he was about 2. So he was about 17. We gave each other our finest best lives. I miss him every day, I miss fighting with him when I come home from work to keep him in. I miss him meeting me at the door. I miss him sleeping next to me with his paw on my cheek. We were each others best friend. I didn’t want to let him go but it was time. He was suffering and prolonging his life wasn’t right in the shape he had become. I have my good days and my bad. But I miss him every second I’m coming through my door because I always knew on the other side of that door was the most unconditional love I ever knew. So sorry for your loss. She lived her best life thanks to you. My Ginger kitty was just diagnosed with Lymphoma last week. She has been my little shadow for 9 years. Follows me everywhere. The neighbors joke around and say that i really have a dog. Im showering her with love and affection and all the treats she wants. Im going to cherish the time we have left together before she crosses the rainbow bridge. This may sound crazy but i actually recieved a message from my first cat 2 years after she died. I don't know how this was even possible. It blows my mind. In 2001 i was chosen by a beautiful little tortie to be her person. The first time we met she flopped over on her back so i could rub her belly. She loved that. Clover was her name. She always met me at the door when i came home. I could hear her meowing on the other side of the door. If she wasn't sure it was me she was silent. I would say "it's me" and the meowing would begin. In 2009 i lost her to cancer. I was heartbroken. I still miss her something awful. I buried her in a cornfield right next to where we first met. Its in a beautiful valley. I sit out there with her sometimes and watch the sunset. My friend owns the farm. I can go visit anytime i want. Im out there all the time looking for arrowheads so i get to visit with her often. In 2011 the floods from Irene almost wiped the whole valley off the map. By some miracle the farm survived. One morning in the spring of 2012 I visited with Clover for a while. Told her how much i missed her. And hoped that i would see her again. I said goodbye and continued searching the field. After only a couple minutes i spotted the top of a bottle sticking out of the ground. I didn't have much hope of it being in one piece. The plow doesn't spare bottles ive never found a whole one. I stuck my walking stick into it and pried on it. Didn't move. I stuck the stick in the ground and reached down and grabbed the bottle. It was covered in mud but it looked like it was whole. Im in a 30 acre cornfield less than 100 yards from Clovers grave. When i wiped the mud off my jaw dropped. I'm staring at a clover. I was stunned. I wipe off more mud and find another clover embossed on the bottle. I cant believe it. I wipe off the rest of the mud. Its a perfect bottle. Not a scratch on it. It is from the Clover Leaf Dairy in Albany NY. It has a clover on the front and one on the bottom. How is this even possible? What are the odds of this happening? It still blows my mind.

I understand your pain. I had to do the same thing to my 16 year old cat, Irie. I had raised him from a 6 week old kitten. He was an Iowa cat who loved traveling to Illinois to see, then my boyfriend and now my husband and his cat, Snickers. Irie outlived 2 Illinois cats. He was my buddy, nagging me when it was time for bed, then racing me up the stairs. He was my "baby kitty." Always snuggling in the crook of my left arm. It's been 5 years now, and I still cry fresh tears as I write this. Yes, I know your pain. RIP Antigua.

Antigua felt how much she was cherished and how much she mattered. She loved her family very much. She had the perfect family and home. The sad thing about pets is they don't get as old as their owners. I will never get used to losing one. I cry for weeks untill I have no more tears. And it hurts so bad. I try to tell myself they had a good life. But the grief does not become easier to endure.

Habe Rotz und Wasser geheult,weil es soo heavy ist wenn dein Tier stirbt. Ich hab das selber vor jetzt 3 Jahren mit erleben müssen,meine Risi mit fast 18 Jahren neben mir starb. Ich hoffe sie hatte nie Schmerzen 😢..ich vermisse sie so sehr,weil sie die beste Katze der Welt war..sie tat keinem Weh, war immer lieb,immer zum kuscheln bereit( was meine neue nicht so mag).selbst wenn ich Schmerzen hatte ,war sie zu mir gekommen und lag bei mir 😊..sie war großartig,eine wirkliche Glückskatze mit ihren 3 Farben . Meine neue Risi ist auch eine hübsche oder nicht? Ich muss aber immer an meine Old Risi denken,denn sie war eine Main Coon und soo Majestätisch und Stolz immer an ihrem Fensterplatz und alle sahen sie und mussten stehen bleiben und sagen Boar schau mal❤..sie konnte sogar Platz machen und küsste mich..

This video breaks my heart. My boy is 14: , with diabetes. My God, this lovely kitty. So sad to say goodbye. How sad can it be. When they’re sick, your heart breaks every day knowing time is running out and the dread of being gone is unbearable. I’ll go thru this sometime in the future and it all ready upsets me. My kitty saved my life. I have depression and ptsd and chronic pain from nerve damage from the neck down . Domestic violence was brutal to me. Crunched my neck, lower back and I already had scoliosis. I’m alive tho. Didn’t start living until I adopted my black cat. Life restarted at that point in time. Can’t bear he loss and you’ve made a beautiful video of this beloved kitty. I pray for you.

May God Bless you for giving this Antigua such a good long life. It is one of the hardest thing s in life to say good bye to our loving pet. they are and will always be a part of us living in our soul I have rescued cats for 30 years and a lot of the one i live trap don't live long from being out side in harsh winter an all. I don't know you but your video put tears in my eyes like it was one of mine. Holding them for the last time as the doctor puts the needle in them . an felling them leave this earth . haunts me to this day. but we have to help end their suffering. with love bless you

I wish I didn't know how this feels. I said good bye to my Knickknack in Oct. '21. She was the only thing with a heart beat I ever loved. I was an unsightly wreck for 20 months, many of those spent wishing I had gone with her. It cast a pall of heavy sorrow over my spirit that I can't shake. I would pay unto my ruin to have a few visiting hours at the Rainbow Bridge and maybe ask my girl if I was an ok dad. I know that Knickknack was properly worshiped, but I'll never know if I did enough. I hope you cope better than I have.

As difficult as it is, we must always remember that it is not something we do to them, but instead is something we do for them. Yes it is hard, in October of last year I lost my cat Maggie due to cancer & it broke my heart but I know that she will be waiting by the door for me when I leave this world😢😢😢😢😢
