In regards to Gjuha, from what I’ve read, it’s based on the singer (Aurora Nishevci for this one, not Abigail Morris) and her experiences with growing up not knowing her mother tongue well.

Her mother tongue is English.

Yes, i haven't analysed the lyrics as i can't always catch them, but i doesn't matter ,love the two main singers ,of course Abigale grabs most of the attention as she floats round the stage like Freddie Mercury or Asel Rose, but the other singer has an equally wonderful voice. Throw in a great guitarist, pianist and bass and you have an incredible package, full of fluidity and movement. Portrait of a dead girl has a wonderful bassline towards the end . Hope to see em live asap

I discovered this album (under the influence of a certain green plant) and was obsessed with the dynamic switch ups of the album! This album feels like it was produced by music LOVERS! It is a very active listen instead of just a casual background experience.

First of all, I love your analysis, you really take your time to listen to and comment on every song. Regarding the queer undertones you picked up on - they are definitely there on purpose. At least some of the band members are openly queer and My Lady of Mercy specifically is about going to a christian all-girl school and having a crush on a schoolmate. Sinner as well could be, as you said, about figuring out your queerness, juxtaposed to the innocence of friendship, but according to the band, it is also about a relationship with a city (London, in this case), where moving to that city feels like a loss of innocence, because you never 'knew it' as a child. And these two things are often interconnected - a lot of people, myself included, figure out they're queer only once they leave the more conservative small town culture for the more inclusive urban environment.

I saw them live earlier this week! They just finished their Australian tour. They were AMAZINGGGGG live!! Their harmonies (especially on beautiful boy) were heavenly, and the vibes were spectacular 😍 and they played one unreleased song that was SO GOOD! Anyway, keen to watch your reaction!! ❤

but, please stop supporting betterhelp. they don’t always hire qualified therapists, some of those said “therapists” have asked gay people to seek conversion therapy, and they give free therapy to the genocidal IDF

I recommend for you songs of Vashti Bunyan, album "Just another diamond day" from 1971. Poetic lyrics.

They actually have a good history with Florence + The Machine. Georgia (bass) was heavily influenced by her and even has a Florence tattoo. Last year the band opened a few shows on Florence's Dance Fever tour. And this year florence presented them with a BBC award (which was actually in the same studio she recorded Lungs). But yeah brilliant album and band, their influences are amazing and they are definitely deserving of their current attention.
