Hey, Grimscribe. You were right on time with The Last Feast of Harlequin. I have been on the lookout for a good reading of this hidden gem. You nailed it. Im pretty sure yours is the ONLY recorded reading of this story available anywhere online. Hold to the Dark Faith, brother.

Can't tell you how glad you uploaded this, I just want you to know that your work is appreciated! I'm a fan of all type of weird fiction from Lovecraft to Ligotti and everything inbetween... keep up the great work my friend.

Yeah I definitely hear what you're saying, I live in Providence Rhode Island, not far from where HP Lovecraft used to live, it's normally a pretty busy City. Not anymore, but I'm a combat disabled veteran with 100% disability, so I pretty much read, listen to audiobook, or KZbin stories, or research. So for me it's not too much difference. But you're one of the few that I actually follow avidly. So just wanted you to know that I love everything you put out from ligotti, and everything that's in that type of Dark Fantasy genre. Out of the many books in my home I have one called the grimscribes puppets, if you haven't already read it you should check it out. An anthology of stories written in the style of Thomas ligotti. Very good book.

Nikolai Hanuschak thanks so much. I’ll make sure to check that anthology out, too. Sounds great

I want you to finish all of Ligotti first - your delivery makes his writing shine - but I'd be interested to see you tackle The Abominations of Yondo by Clark Ashton Smith. It is poetic and wordy but short and packs an atmosphere like Ligotti.

agreed on all points. Also 'Ten Steps to Thin Mountain' is a super short one I'd love to hear your more clear / HD take on. There's one rendition on YT but it uses an ASMR-y, creepy whisper (no, not text-to-speech either! ha) which I respect, but it gets in the way, and a baseline clean take is needed :)

@@jvince001 I can't listen to anything that channel posts, with the weird whispered readings.

Absolutely zero offense meant, but is there a reason as to your pronunciation of subsequently? It works for the kind of clinical / studious tone of Ligotti’s writing, ha.

Great story before the ending turned into the lair of the white worm. Started getting flashbacks from that stupid movie.
@Cocoliloc_Cacalachin2 жыл бұрын
It's a reference to Edgar Allan Poe's the conqueror worm, wherein angels watch a play of clowns chasing a phantom they can't catch before a worm comes onto the stage and eats them. The play is a representation of human life and the poem ends on the affirmation that the worm, death, is the hero. I found the ending of this story to be fantastic, especially with how it ties into the rest of Lugotti's philosophy of anti-natalism and that existence is not desirable.
