Suggestion…. Turn the Iid to the box upside down, put cushion and cloth inside lid. Then put fruit in the lid. That way when you want your can goods all you have to do is lift out the lid of fruit at once instead of one piece at a time. Bug screen looks great! I look forward to your trip. Hi Lulu, I live in Florida, and it’s been the coldest fall on record. I recommend bringing the heating pad, even if you just use it to heat up your bed before you go to sleep. A little ambient heat so things don’t get damp. Damp cold is the worst. Also if you need a place to land, you are more than welcome to stay at my property. I’m located in the Palm Coast area. Suggestion:I use a small heating pad in my SUV camper. It works better than a mattress pad or electric blanket and takes no room. Fits in pillow. When in bed under the covers it heats the whole area under the covers. It works in FL for cool nights.

You may have already thought of this by now….but you could turn the lid of your can goods box over and put the foam and cloth in there. Then it seems to me like it would be easier to get to the canned goods by simply lifting the lid out with the fruit in it. Maybe?

Lulu, I recommend that you get a Thermarest or Rumpl down blanket. They roll up super small for storage. You may even bring along the heating pad. Florida has been unusually cold. What if you get caught in a snowstorm on the way down or back? Happy Trails!

My wonderful Lulu, What if, for some reason, you got stuck where its cold? Wouldnt you want that electric blanket? I really feel your electric blanket OR a sleeping bag that keepsnyou arm in below zero temperatures is a must. I think the sleeping bag is worth it. Perhaps you could store ut up front? Im not even sure how big those sleeping bags are. I am a total believer in preparing for the "just in case." Ive seen too many van videos about being unprepared or caught off guard for cold temperatures. I just love you so much and want you safe and comfy. Of course the decision is yours. Had a thought as I was watching your tweaks. You have the box in the bin for the canned goods. And the fruit on top. If you turned the cover of the box upside down, it would create a tray. That way when you put the pads in for your fruit instead of having to lift every single fruit out individually. You could just lift the whole thing out as a tray and then get at the canned goods and then put it all back in without having to mess up the padding system and the fruit. Just a thought. Love watching your videos! 😊

Just a thought, they sell heat packs for people who have menstrual cramps, you could get a few of those and place in the bed to help supply a little bit of heat to help during those extra cold nights. They last eight hours or so and come in a small box of three.

yup, that was the original plan when I thought I had to alien tape them to the top shelf, and so I would need to see through them. then, I discovered the slip stop liner, and now I don't have to adhere them to the top of the cabinets because they don't slide off!! YAY!! now I can easily take them down and get what I need and they just place them back and they don't move when I drive, it's a miracle!! lol so the white ones I had before would have worked just find now, but I had already ordered all the clear ones, so I just threw those up there and decorated the fronts!!

So to get to your canned goods you must individually remove the fruit? Why not put canned goods in first, put the fruit in a box to sit on the cans. (no additional top needed for the box filled with fruit) You can then lift the fruit box out to get to the canned items. You can still use the foam to line the bottom of the fruit box.

I access the fruit every day, I want the fruit on the top. and I don't want the fruit to be closed in a box. the canned goods are there available to me only for an emergency, if I run out of fresh food. canned goods are not my go-to foods. if I'm in a pinch and I need some veggies, I'll grab a can of artichoke hearts, or if I'm out of cooked protein, I'll grab a can of mackerel. works well for me!!

I love mittens. I just turned 60 and I live in North Georgia about 25 miles north of Atlanta. I also have Raynauds, so I really try to stay warm or my hands are freezing. Probably when you get to Georgia it's not gonna be terrible but I don''t think I would want to at least not use a heated blanket or mattress warmer. But you just got the new wool blankets so maybe you'll be okay. I know you are used to dealing with cold since you live in Massachusetts. Hope all goes well with you trip. Merry Christmas to you!
