Courage as a whole is such a timeless show, but it's amazing how many 1-2 minute scenes you can pull from so many episodes and still be so emotionally moved by them even all these years later. There's so many things I watched when I was little that I had a response to then that I go back and look at now and it's just nostalgic and not really much else, but seeing then when I was 4-5 years old and watching it now again at 23 and still having that same pull at my heart, almost like it cane really invoke the core of you that doesn't change really makes me tear up. It's not just a memory, it's a place, and for media to be able to do that in general is such a testament to the absolute artists behind this show. Every single one.

I remember Courage the Cowardly dog and it was funny but it had some great episodes..honestly when i first saw this one I cried when that green space squid sacrificed himself for his family then again when the mother dies and becomes a beautiful garden of flowers

I think the saddest EP was when courage was a baby.

I still wont forget how cartoon network had a big marathon of nothing but courage episodes and they played this and the episode where he loses his parents back to back. I've never cried so hard as a kid 😂

this is for sure the saddest moment in the show along with the memory courage had of his parents getting taken away

I'm 30yo. I didn't know these cartoons were from the 90's as they air them in Spain now and in 1080. I like this show and Dexter to play in the background set in English while I do other things to improve my listening skills and also because they look so surreal... And this episode got me a lot. It's real life, often unfair yet beautiful. Indeed cartoons for kids like this aren't very common now with all the childish fake stuff. Even my grandmother likes Courage.

Murial: "You make the stars in the heavens above?" 'The Mother Squid Nod' Murial: "Are there others like you?" 'The Mother Squid Cries' Her Tears to show that she is the last of the starmakers. Even as an Adult, I cried this scene.

Oh those baby squids are so cute and adorable. The parents must be proud of their children . It is sad that the father squid never had a chance to see his children to hatch

The fact that as soon as I saw the thumbnail of this video and knew what it was about almost instantly just shows how much of an impact Courage the Cowardly Dog gave me during my childhood. This cartoon stood out alot for me because of how weird and creepy it was at times. Although it was like that, I would never say that I regret watching this cartoon. Ever
