It took 1 month to get to Winterfell from Kings Landing with a large party. A couple dudes on horses could get there in less time.
@k.v.76814 ай бұрын
The month to travel is a bit odd. An army can march about 20-24 miles per day (in good conditions). Winterfell is about 1600 miles away from KL. That would mean about two months and a bit marching pace. That would mean the King's party traveled at about 50 miles/day. But a good horse can only cover about 35 miles a day (they're not as enduring as people. Faster, yes, but the tire faster too), and that only sustainable with small teams, not a whole court following. Provided they have horse-outposts to change horses, they could push it a bit, but not that much. In times of war, small parties at high pace/bursts of gallop and outposts for fresh horses, let's say we get to 50 miles/day. It would still be a month for a couple dudes. The king would have needed about a month and a half.

From King's Landing to Winterfell in the first season it was a month's ride with carriages, the entourage and the entire royal court. Realistically it would take less if someone is travelling alone (like Arya and the Hound). Also, dragons and ships travel faster. The "fast travel tokens" are because the storylines have been condensed. In the first seasons, there were many different threads to look at, but now it's just 3 locations (Winterfell, King's Landing, Dragonstone).

As rough as Jaime leaving Brienne is I think there's two things going on. One, he's just in love with Cersei. Good people fall in love with evil people all the time and it screws their whole life up like has happened to him. He cares about Brienne a lot but at the end of the day she's a friend who he got drunk and slept with and she caught feelings, she's not his girl. I think him being harsh with her as he's leaving is just him trying to give her the "It's not you it's me" thing. He's trying to tell her it isn't her fault it isn't going to work out, so she doesn't feel like she did anything wrong. Second thing is he also has to go back for honor. He's pledged to Cersei and he's a Lannister. Going north to battle for life vs. death is one thing but siding with Dany against his own family would be something different. He would feel like a coward if he just sat around and let his own house get wiped out without doing anything. It sucks but ultimately it's the right decision for him to leave.

If you have read the books you will have picked up on the fact that Danearys has a lot of fear, she asked her maid to sleep in her bed because of this, also, her descent into madness is already being shown in what is book 5 (2 books make up book 5), so she was going to go mad, unfortunately the show didn't give enough hints to show that. Varys said it, 'every time a Targaeryn is born the gods toss a coin, and wait to see if it lands on the side of madness or not'. Varys was aware of the madness that ran in the Targaeryn family because of all the incest. We definitely needed at least 10 episodes each for S7&8 which would have helped to lay a better storyline. The biggest issue is the prophecy, the prince that was promised, his is the song of ice and fire. That's John, Stark and Targaeryn, and they definitely let his story line down. However, I have made peace with the ending. Main characters have died from S1 onwards. Shoutout to the Hound, I loved his character all the way through. I was House Stark from the beginning. It's been so wonderful to relive this series with you guys. I have loved each episode with you, your theories reminded me of the way we discussed each episode. Spoiler-ish. Controversial, but I am okay with the way that it ended. I wasn't at first especially with the long wait in between seasons and what not, but I made peace with it. I see a lot of people are still quite let down about it...I get it. We invested years on this show. But being a downer in the comment section, even right from episode one about the ending is doodoo. I kind of like to see their opinion on it as people who had the luxury to watch the show in a shorter time span.

About Bronn... go back in time when Tyrion sent Shae away. Who escorted her to the ship and came to visit Tyrion in his cell, all dressed up in new gear, lord of a castle? 👀 He's never been his friend.

I love your reaction videos, and I love that you guys pay attention to the details. Everybody has their own opinion on the show and on particular characters. Where my opinion greatly differs from yours is the Dany scenario. I don't see her any different from Cersei as far as being power hungry. Although I know Dany's character was necessary to the story, I noticed very early on that once she got the taste of power, it would go to her head. She did do a lot of good deeds along the way, but did she do them for the right reasons, or did she do it to build her army?Something to ponder. I didn't like the fact that she would have people burnt to a crisp because they wouldn't "bend the knee" and wouldn't agree to fight Jon's war against the dead unless he "bent the knee" all because she thinks that she is the "rightful heir" to the throne. So thinking that way from her perspective, why didn't she immediately "bend the knee" to Jon when she found out that he was in fact the true heir to the throne (even though he wasn't interested)? Instead, she begged him to keep it hidden. It was sad to see Missandei beheaded, but don't think for a second that Dany wouldn't have killed her or anybody else for that matter if they got between her and the throne. I find it kind of hypocritical that you frowned upon Sansa grinning as the dogs mauled her torturer, but made no mention to Dany grinning as she had her dragons burn people.

It was so sad to see your reaction to that moment with Jaime leaving. :( Really didn't feel right after everything either. I really loved all of your afterthoughts about this episode! Definitely vibing with all of your thoughts about the Battle at Winterfell and Cersei. I wish they would have kept adapting more of the book material! But alas... I can't believe you're almost done! 😭 Don't worry, tho.... _The North Remembers_ 🐺 🏰❄️

Your reaction to these last seasons is mine exactly. Of course they were rushed and the showrunners did us dirty. Of course there should have been more seasons. And of course they were not the best seasons. But did I find them entertaining? And thats a big yes. I have a theory that seems to be baring out. The peeps who really hate the last seasons are the peeps who read the books. And generally speaking that boils down to the peeps who read the books know much more of the lore and because they are book readers, connecting all the threads in logical ways is more important to them than all the high drama and visual allure of the tv show. I read the books but so long ago, I know the show way better than the books. It's much more important to me to be entertained than worrying about logical things not making sense in a fantasy setting. But thats just me. Examples, it makes no dam sense that Dani didn't see Euron's boats while she was in the air SCOUTING with the dragons. That was dumb and stupid but I got over it 5 seconds after it happened. It made no dam sense at all for Arya to sleep with Gendry. It looked very contrived and forced and very awkward. But I didn't let it ruin the episode or show for me.

As you see, this season is trash and you see why a lot of fans hate it. Character arcs totally destroyed. Logic thrown out the window. Dany is flying to Dragonstone and she can't see a huge fleet of ships below? GTFO here with that. Fan favorite character wearing plot armor, speaking mainly of the last episode. Never cared much for Sansa and this episode really made me loath her. She's an oath breaker by revealing Jon's secret. Her dad would be so disappointed in her. Emilia did a good job with her facial acting with Missandea's death. The look of concern, disbelief, anger, full on rage. You see the slight twitches on her face as her feelings are changing.

Arya and Sansa were telling Jon don't go South with Daynerys. Their point was that them are his family and he should stay in Winterfell and protect his family. So Jon decided to tell truth that his actual family by blood is Daynerys not two of them.

Dany has never been a nice person... she's had one goal: To rule by any means necessary. Yes, she freed slaves, but she's always demanded absolute loyalty. Only her advisors - Jorah, Missandei, Dario, Tyrion, and Varys - have coached her to curb her destructive impulses. Sansa and Arya see it... and Varys and Tyrion are starting to

Most have considered this the worst or 2nd worst episode in the show. I don't think it's horrible. But also it's pretty convoluted and some characters do some very stupid things. Still there are good things in it.
