Yeah, this is the moment Ellie completely loses her innocence and is "reborn in the flames". Its prob the most important part of her character arc and really sets up the person she becomes in the 2nd game. Bella is doing a fantastic job. I am in awe of her performance of this character.

Bella is incredible, some people are way too concerned with the appearance of this 14 year old character. They embody Ellie so well, and imo this episode proved she'll have no problems playing Ellie in the upcoming season(s).

bella ramsey is absolutely killing it. when joel found ellie and ellie freaked out and then just looked at him with that look of utter terror & relief and her eyes..and when she couldn't even speak, just started frantically mumbling.. and how she just kept looking straight at him because he was being her one source comfort in that moment. omg. amazing.

I hadn't seen Bella in anything before this (other than a very minor bit-part in His Dark Materials), so I wasn't sold on the casting in the beginning. Now, I'm pretty sure I've eaten all the crows on earth, because I CANNOT imagine anyone else nailing Ellie's character so damn perfectly. They had better win a damn Emmy!

I cried for Ellie after she double tapped the hell outta him. And then I cried when she got to Joel. These damn writers are doing it.....they are making one of the best shows this year, which is saying a lot cuz its a tough competition. I also hope that episode helped someone feel strong enough to do what Ellie did.

The actors (game and show) said he had "wife intentions" with Ellie. Barf. I nearly cried when Joel called Ellie "baby girl" at the end. He truly sees her as his daughter now. I hope Pedro, Bella, and Nick Offerman all get nominations for their performances.

They better not snub The Last of Us for nominations or awards because it's a horror show like The Oscars does. Maybe when the KZbin channel Dead Meat does The Dead Meat Awards again next year, they will find a way to either include tv shows or just include Bella, Pedro and Nick because they deserve the nominations/awards and because fxxk it, it's their awards show. At least then someone would be acknowledging their hard work and stellar performances if The Oscars or The Emmys won't. Even though The Oscars are trash.

@@marymartin2154 I don't know. The Emmy's might. They've given many Emmy's to American Horror Story. Granted, they've snubbed A LOT of deserving projects and actors before. The Oscar's freakin' suck. They ignore any category that isn't Drama. Plus, the amount of nominations they give to BIPOCs, women, and queer people are miniscule. I wish awards didn't mean as much as they do, but they absolutely mean a lot in society. Thereby, TLOU deserves them. Maybe Dead Meat Awards will expand for TLOU. Regardless, TLOU and everyone involved in it deserves praise.

Yes!!! I also read an article awhile back saying she doesn’t identify with just one gender marker either whether it’s she, he or they. Every actor in this show is doing so well. Especially Bella Ramsay and Pedro Pascal. In this episode they did what needed to be done.
