3:20 That old man (Milton) is Graham Greene. He's an amazing indigenous Canadian actor who has been in more than 40 films and has appeared in over 40 TV shows. His wife (Florence) is played by Elaine Miles. She is a stand up comedian with 19 acting credits under belt.

17:30 in my opinion it’s not that he is not as badass as video game Joel, it’s just that he is more realistic and more humane. In the game Joel is a superhuman old man with unlimited stamina, is faster and stronger than every man in their prime and in the show they have done emphasis on the characters age with getting tired, loosing hearing from shooting without protection, etc, but this Joel beat a man to death, killed and outsmarted the raiders, killed two Clickers and like Henry said “and you are still alive?!”, Clickers are REALLY tough as they showed and not many people live to speak about them, as a sniper he took down the truck driver with an amazing shot and a lot of infected, the cannibal that ambush him Joel still was able to break his neck, etc. He is still bad ass it’s just more realistic and less action for obvious reasons but he is still a beast.

This couple Marlon (Graham Greene) and Florence (Elaine Miles) are just iconic "Leave us alone" folks. Graham is always a + to anything he appears in, and Elaine is hard to find an excuse to dislike. 10:33-10:38 "I'm sure only senses active infection" You know, I knew, and already established in my mind the dog could be more discerning. Even brought that up in comments elsewhere, but I never really thought about it until you mentioned it. The "scanning device" is a true/false "is this specific marker present" for it to be relied on from a single poke on the neck would almost certainly be looking for something bloodborne, from the introduction of the fungus into the body. The dog on the other hand, can apply his mind to say "yes, this is present, but, these other six things are not" Just as a scanning device can reveal a tumor, some dogs can detect a cancerous tumor before it would be detected in an exam. Likewise, some dogs alert to neural signs prior to a seizure. The dog is likely on alert because "well that's his job" plus he picked up what the scanner would pick up, but the rest isn't there, and Ellie being a bit on edge doesn't exactly instill confidence in the dog that she isn't a threat. Maria had probably by now been told "My brother might come looking for me, since I'm not responding" and be aware of Joel's general appearance last Tommy saw of him, so when a guy and a teenage girl come across their patrol and is saying "We don't want any trouble, we're just looking for my brother." She asked his name, and when the name was that of Tommy's brother, "Well, guess I should've saw this coming." TBH, Tommy knows his brother isn't going to tell him that this was seen with Joel's own eyes and is true, unless Joel actually saw it. It's the "unquestionable witness" that Tommy needs to actually believe this story.

Fantastic episode. Like every episode so far. As far as I know, the Divacup was launched in 2003. So it's just in time for the series. Lucky. 😁 The dog here has noticed that something is wrong with Ellie, but he has also noticed that there is no danger from her. Something Fedra's detectors can't detect. They only know black (red) and white (green), just like Fedra is. And of course, Ellie is infected, otherwise the detector would not have shown red. Who knows how many immunes have actually died from such a scanner. Dogs are the better scanners. Maria to Ellie: "Be careful who you put your faith in. The only people who can betray us are the one we trust." Probably the most important sentence of this episode if not of the whole series. Maria knows people and she is no bullshit. Joel to Ellie: "Dream of sheep ranches on the moon." This sentence says so much. Joel already connects Ellie's dreams with his. But he does not see this so clearly at the time and still tries to prevent the inevitable. Ellie drank from Joel's liquor and it was "STILL gross". I think that was a callback to Ellie's flashback DLC. This episode was a feast for everyone who played Part 2. we met Dina (Ellie yelled at her as she dined), properly Jessie (cinema), Shimmer, Bison Bar, sheeps, kids playing snowball, Astronauts, Jackson see from the inside. Simply fantastic. The campfire scene was not in the game, but was originally supposed to be included. So far, only a concept art was left in the bonus material of the game. I think the scene would have been important in the game because it underlines once again that both Marlene and Joel are absolutly sure that it is possible to produce a cure.

@Seyit Ali HAZAR Rebar's normally blunt, and no it would absolutely take a significant height. And again, it would've been literally impossible for Joel to survive an injury like that in real life - that's the type of injury that's dicey even after emergency surgery. He could've easily been dead on impact. Ellie is not going to magically heal Joel with some bandages and penicillin. I love the game wholeheartedly, but it was never realistic, and they simply couldn't recreate it in live-action. The stab wound in the show is actually a injury that Ellie could realistically treat.

I know nothing would be ideal, but still. Would you like to have a say in everything that concerns you as they do, would you demand more goods for the more valuable work you do, would you be upset if someone does get more than you, would you work less if someone is being lazy with no repercussions (say a smaller ration) would you and a few homies try to dominate and rule the others by force?
