As relieved as I was that Ellie had gained the upper hand and killed David, I was also absolutely devastated for her in that moment. Any innocence she still had was destroyed by what David did and attempted to do to her and by the fact that he forced her to hack him to death to avoid it. That guy was a monster. Joel's a weapon. The way he took out the men left behind to search for him, despite being wounded and nowhere near fully fit, was epic and that interrogation scene.... well, let's just say he wasn't messing around. I totally expected that Joel would burst in at the last minute to save Ellie, but I'm so glad they actually had Ellie save herself. She went beast mode. She's a true survivor. She is Joel's daughter. Can't fault this episode. Can't wait for the finale.

Imo the way they showed the character development for both characters overtime was perfectly executed. The show remained faithful to the game and that was a worry of mine. Pedro absolutely nailed the character of Joel. The way he talks, his mannerisms. Ellie was portrayed very well by Bella too, but i can't help but feel and think of other actresses that could have also filled in that role too.

2 things about Joel and Ellie in this: 1. You see in this episode why Joel has such a fearsome reputation. He's 56 years old and still clearly in pain from his injury and yet he utterly destroys four guys. Imagine how devastating he was in his prime. 2. Ellie going from primal screaming to shell-shocked is done beautifully. When she realizes it's Joel, all she can say is "He...he..." (trying to say David tried to rape her) before she just trails off into inarticulate mumbling. Even talking is too much for her at that point.

Yeah, English is weird that way: We generally call the animal one thing (often using a word with a Germanic root) and call it another thing when it is food (usually with a Latin or French root word.) If English had stayed with its German roots, we would say “cow” and “cow flesh” instead of “cow” and “beef”, but instead we use a baser or cruder Germanic word for the animal, and a more refined or proper Romance word for the food. In the case of “venison”, it comes from the Latin verb “venari”, which means “to hunt”. Originally, “venison” meant the meat from any hunted game animal, but now it really only refers to meat from some kind of deer, elk, moose, etc. - i.e. ungulates.

This "multiversal" Ellie with red head is unbelievably emotional; I mean, there are a lot of great moments here and she doesn't enjoy them. When Joel was stabbing the guy in the knee and moving the knife with the blood splashing around she didn't look at it!. The ear on the floor, bodies without head hanging from the ceiling, James taking the cleaver from chopped head of Troy Baker's character and going after Ellie (Scott Shepherd's performance is impeccable btw)...that was worth watching and having fun!... but this chick didn't catch the awesomeness of it.

Cannibalism Hell No! Once you resorts to that depravity you have no humanity left to save. Those assholes wanted revenge on Joel when he was simply protecting himself and Ellie from attackers. Joel had no choice but to kill those guys. They wanted him and Ellie dead. David was a monster who got what he deserved. Ellie's rage in that moment was completely justified. I was caught off guard emotionally when Joel called Ellie baby girl. I cried immediately 😭 The actors performances were so good. Especially Bella Ramsey's

I really enjoyed your reaction. But I do have one criticism...maybe a little less talking? You guys talked over some important parts and thus missed them because of it and it was distracting.
