The Last of Us HBO - A Perfect Start

The Last of Us HBO is here and I'm surprised at how great the series is so far. I was able to see a few episodes in advance, so I'll be sure to keep a weekly video for The Last of Us and round up the series with a video at the end. It was a perfect start. The biggest thing that impressed me about The Last of Us was how it makes you care about the end of the world after decades of media about the end of the world.

I really like them slowing down and letting us breathe in the world, giving Sarah more screen time made her death even more impactful.

Idk if you have watched Narcos, but after that performance I wasn't worried at all about Pedro's casting as joel, he really knows how to embody a hardened soul who cares but is afraid to show it. I can't wait to see how his performance chances once he starts genuinely caring about Ellie.

He was fantastic in that! It had just been so long since I had seen him in a performance like Narcos, that I was worried years of typecasting had gotten to him. Kind of like when a marvel actor spends so much time as a safe character. You forget what they can do.

@@TheFirstOkiro Oh definitely! tho if we're talking kinda recent projects, he's shown his acting abilities in The unbearable weight of massive talent and Prospect too so I wasn't too worried, I'm glad he's getting more diverse projects that take advantage of his talent for sure! can't wait for the short Almodovar film he's starring in later this year

I cannot agree with you about this show. It's just the same as the game. This show could have told a different story. Henry and Sam would have been very interesting and new. Honestly the cut scenes from the game are more riveting.

My only issue is not enough infected. I didn’t really notic until my wife mention it. But it’s a fair criticism why haven’t we seen more infected

Despite the trite concept, it did not feel repetitive; maybe it is the performances. Really enjoyed this show when I thought the latter seasons of TWD ruined post-apocalyptic shows for me.

Hmm, I've already played and beaten the first game got halfway through the 2nd and never finished it, but should my Dad and I play the game and take turns after each chapter or should we just watch the show, on the one hand we could play the games and experience the whole story right away without having to wait for episodes to drop on the other hand if we watch the show my Dad can still experience a similar story and not have to learn how to play the game. He does play games but it takes him a minute to learn the controls.

I think you should watch the show. Just go in with your dad. It’s really entertaining and stands on its own 2 feet.
