There’s a whole 20 years between outbreak day and the time Joel meets Ellie, when Joel said he was on “both sides” that can be explored. Tommy can be explored more. It looks like they may explore the villains in Pittsburg more. The ones with the truck. So many things they can do in this

They will explore the Hunters more. One of the women you saw in the trailer is their leader, there's supposedly going to be way more depth for them since they're really one of the few factions in the game that doesn't have a leader and that we don't know a whole lot about.

Going off what footage they've shown in the teaser, the furthest into the game it seems to show is joel comforting ellie after she kills david, i reckon that would be a great spot to finish the first season

That’s basically the end of the first game, they go to salt lake right after that. I guess I wouldn’t mind if they started season 2 with Joel killing abbys dad (if they decide to go that route), but I’d much rather them just wrap it up. I think the last shot in the trailer will be the last shot of the season. Joel finishes his lie to Ellie, and they set off to Jackson.

The clicker is practical (with minor CGI enhancements. Almost all practical make-up things are slightly touched up with CGI). The guy hired to do the makeup, Barrie Gower (and his team), is CRAZY skilled. They've worked on The Green Knight, Chernobyl, No Time to Die, and ofc... Stranger THings S04 (Vecna) wrt Joel being gritty in the show... I am sure they will go dark with the character. But one thing that needs to be understood: Joel can be ruthless, yes. But he never does this from an emotional, reactive place. His violence is practical and almost always motivated by two things: survival and protection (of those he loves). Ellie's AI was actually prtty damn helpful to me! Handing me healthkits, ammo etc, saving me from folks who try to choke me. The only shortcoming of her AI was her running around enemies when we are supposed to be in stealth lol And yeah, this show will have 10 episodes, and it will cover the ENTIRE GAME + Left Behind. 10 hours is more than enough to cover the games + some side characters (just subtract a LOT of looting nuts, bolts, blades etc, and gameplay bits that can easily be removed. Case and point: When Ellie runs away in jackson, you have to fight through a bunch of guys and it feels KINDA tacked on. In the show, they can remove/shorten it).

I like the possible layout of season 1. For me, if they don't wrap the first game in the first season, they can end it where Joel decides to take Ellie to University of Eastern Colorado. "GO Big Horns." Set the tension of Joel resisting connection. Having said that, there are 2 shots that hint at the end of the Winter part of the game. The fact that they used "Alone and Forsaken" from the 1st gamescom trailer and the song playing during the Truck ambush in Pittsburgh is awesome! Keep it up Cyber Nerds! 🤘👏👏

University of Eastern Colorado would be a perfect spot to end the first season. I really hope they don't try and cram the first game into only 1 season (especially if they are also doing Ellie's DLC)

@@coolzog You say "cram in" but both the first and second games are 15-20 hours solely because of combat sequences & optional stuff (also dependent on difficulty). The actual story and cutscenes are less than 6 hours - So they actually have plenty of time to do the whole game in season one.

@@michaelandrews117 I mean, presumably there will still be SOME action/sneaking/fighting in the show, not just the cutscene conversations. Also, a lot of the dialogue and character development took place as you were playing and moving through environments, not just cut-scenes. I think they could potentially do it in 10 episodes, 8 might be cutting it short. But if they really want to flesh out the characters/story, two seasons would be ideal. I mean, you could do the entire opening sequence in 1 episode if you wanted.

Pedro Pascal is the perfect choice to be Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, I can dig, also it's on Sky Atlantic, so it's gonna be there too aswell as HBO Max, but from the trailer itself, it looks so good, without giving anymore away, you know there's going to be loads of surprises left, the Clicker looked insane! perfect representation, I'm excited! 2023 going to be a madness, also great reaction brothers. I think the idea is that Season 1 is roughly the first game. And if the season does well, they might do more, such as Season 2 (therefore about TLOU2). And tbh I’d love to see even more beyond that.

So I don’t know if you know this the first season was completely filmed in Canada it was the biggest production Canada has seen for a tv show coming in at 200 million dollars about 10 million per episode and marketing and other costs. The show was filmed in many small towns and two major cities Edmonton and Calgary. It’s the biggest production to ever bee filmed in the province of Alberta Canada.

Even though the game is 15hrs long, remember a lot of that is dialogue. For a tv series they can't just have an episode of dialogue because ppl have short attention spans. Case in point Rings of Power. So in some ways they may have to shorten some things and expand on others. I don't think there's much to tell for these two characters between Part 1 and 2 but If they do an in between then the second season should focus on Abbey because her story could have been more fleshed out so we understand her relationship with her dad more and why she does what she does next.

You could easily fit the whole story of The Last of Us Part 1 into one single season. When you take out gameplay and focus on cutscenes, there is only 2 hours of cutscenes in the game. You cant count the gameplay as being a part of the cinematic story, only moments of its. So 13 of those 15 hours is the player fighting AI, not storytelling.
