I don't think the HBO version is bad, but I think this one is far better and more emotional. It also didn't make sense to me that Ellie just vibed out in the room with him knowing he was infected and didn't tell anyone he was bitten. The depressing forshadowing lines from Sam in the game are really good and Joel's lines after sam is killed are incredibly well done. Ellies reaction in the show is better though Also ngl Episode 4 and part of 5 being so focused on that random lady was a bit of a waste, did anyone care about her? It seemed a bit like TLOU2 where they tried too hard to make you understand the other side but it fell a bit flat.

Bro I’ve played through this game so many times. And I finally get why Sam asked Ellie why she’s never scared. Ellie has a different demeanor about the world itself So she’s more curious than scared of turning and Sam sees that. He asked what she was scared of hoping she would say turning so he could be comfortable enough to tell her about his bite then he brings up being trapped. She’s immune so he wasn’t satisfied with her answers. He’s a 13 year old boy having to face his duality in only a couple hours by himself. Henry has such a strict regimen for them that he felt if he told his older brother he’d feel like he let him down or didn’t listen to him. Sam’s story is truly sad as well as Henry’s. The way the camera cuts to Joel’s remorseful look as Henry shoots himself is so shocking. @@gbagman "If Henry would've given Sam a gun he wouldn't have turned" Is what was said. So I would assume, yes, they did intend to say that. I hope I am not sounding offensive or anything. Not my intention. The last part is really lamenting the fact that Henry was so strict on Sam that he wouldn't even allow him to have an innocent thing. Probably one of the few toys Sam would ever see in his lifetime. I see the toy and the symbolism behind the moment is Henry crushing the hope or delusions of childhood that Sam is being denied. As Henry believes tough love and seeing reality is best for Sam's upbringing in the apocalypse. Which is a very very big contrast to Joel's approach with Eli. Repeatedly allowing her to have wonder and even encouraged her wonder. He had her grounded without holding the reigns as tightly as Henry did, but only when it was a matter of safety was he hard on her. So I think it's a very tragic story on both ends for Sam and Henry. "Henry what have you done?" If Henry never suggested going to the tower he would have his brother. If he simply allowed Sam to have a gun and taught him to use it he may have had a chance. But remember we lost Tess and she was a seasoned veteran just like Joel in the survival business. So what hope would he really have even with a weapon? That's my argument.

@@Iluvgatos2003 But it’s in definition not…
@nobinary22962 жыл бұрын
@@Iluvgatos2003 Not in definition. While a remake tends to focus on reworking the technical and performance aspects of a game, a remaster is generally made to look good on newer devices, and update the game to different resolutions like HD. Not only did they remake every environment, sound design, mechanics, rehaul scenes to include the weapons you're carrying, make new character models, and add better facial animations--They also added more gameplay mechanics. AI overhaul so they are better at flanking, adding new AI to your companions so that they're better at covering you and taking cover themselves. There's also more configuration than there's ever been in any previous version of the Last of Us part 1. The reason for the price hike? Executives basically blackmailed them and said if they can get enough people to buy this clearly overpriced version then they will greenlight the new CO-OP story they're making in TLOU universe. Not only that but dude we're in a pandemic and people other than us have to eat. We're not the only ones affected. Everyone is experiencing gas price rizes, inflation, increased utility bills, etc. So the prices of games also reflect the state of the world. It's not like anyone is holding us at gun point to buy a game. Just don't get it but don't poison the well. Those innocent people who gave their blood, sweat, and tears deserve to be paid for their hard work. The game isn't meant for people who already played it. It's for the newer generation. So if you wanna see that Co-op game with a complete storyline? Support the game that obviously touched you. Boost the people behind it and give the newer generation the best possible experience of the game they can get. I am saying this as a veteran of the game myself. I LOVE this remake. Seeing each scene hit harder because the sheer amount of detail and facial expressions is THAT good. Seeing Sarah's death was harder when I saw that one tear slip from her eyes and her Father's tears hitting her body. Seeing the same amount of intensity in the Henry and Sam scene really made me cry harder than the first time. As the oldest sibling in my family I felt that pain the hardest. So why don't we recommend it to people? Who says we have to hate everything just because it's popular? Why hate people of different opinions? It makes no sense.

I respectfully disagree, I think the fade to black makes it a different kind of emotional punch but I don’t thing the show’s way was worse. My only complaint with the show is that Ellie should’ve told Joel and Henry asap that Sam was but, it made so sense that she didn’t

There's not a whole lot from the game that made me sad, but this scene did. I didn't cry or anything, but it was one of those moments that really did have some impact on me. It's just so sad to see Henry kill himself so quickly. he believe's failed his younger brother, his family who were probably long dead. All he had to live for was keeping his younger brother safe and once that went away, he just kills himself. His world is over. I can't wait to see how the show adapts this.

I appreciated the episode, but I tend to find this much more heart breaking. It’s the dialogue between the two, the way attitudes and perceptions change. He feels at fault, like in trouble. He’s questioning, hoping to find comfort in anything. And Ellie pushes it aside, thinking everything is fine. The boy hides it to himself too… he doesn’t want to break the celebration, sitting alone, knowing what it could do to him. The toy he once wanted is now meaningless. He knows he won’t have time to enjoy it… it felt more sudden, less queued

the worst part about this is that if you really pay attention to the infected (specifically runners) you'll realize that the people they were before are still there trapped in their own bodies forced to see and feel how they kill and eat their loved ones and whoever crosses their path. and even worse they can also feel every punch, stab, shot or whatever someone does to them. Sam must have been there seeing himself attack Ellie and being shot by his own brother. poor Sam lived his nightmare right before being killed by the person he loved the most. truly horrible

It's so devastatingly brilliant how in the game, the story just transitions into the black screen, and then you, as the player, are transported to the gorgeous mountains of Wyoming. It's like the writers knew that we would all immediately need a break after this, and they were happy to give it to us. We go from "It's all your fault!" and then a shot, and then black... Sad guitar notes, and then we're somewhere else. It's really kind of how trauma works, unhealthily managed trauma at least, and there really isn't any other type in an apocalyptic situation like these games. I guess we eventually end up seeing that theme played out further as well.
