It’s interesting to me how in TLOU and TLOU Remastered, I used Listen Mode like a crutch because it was there and it was encouraged. Whereas, the expansive level design and the tenacity of the enemy AI in Part 2 compelled me enough to the point that I forgot about it completely. It wasn’t until right before I first encountered the Seraphites and was stuck in a building packed with Infected that I remembered Listen Mode was even still a thing.

One tip I can give you to increase your accuracy and hopefully you have this on your tv is you turn on game mode and it literally feels like you're playing 60 frames per second it may not look like it but it'll be really responsive at least for me it is I get easy headshots but if I turn it off I really really struggled to get headshots and reticle is all over the place so just try it out

The fact that 1000s of people where giving it zeros or low scores on metacritic after it came out proves that they didn't even play enough of the game to form a valid opinion nor would they ever because har har sjw trans lmao. Where if they played the game they would know thats not true. One thing I will say is I feel like the gameplay will get stale if it's as long as people say it is but I'll have to see. Look it's a very different game then tlou 1 story wise so I could see some of the audience being unsatisfied but the band wagon hate is just not from what I've played. The narrative issues are wholly apparent in the story setup and structure. Gameplay is a nice improvement over the first game but you’re tripping BG lol. BrokenGamezHDR we agreed and a bit disagreed. Here’s the thing;: TLOU1’s story wasn’t revolutionary or anything. It was a standard story told many times before. Where that game shined was in its characterization. It had a simple story that allowed the characters and world to shine all on their own. TLOU2 is a bigger story with more complexities. So far, I’m not seeing where these elements make this story more enjoyable than TLOU1. This game relies on the overt writing style of Neil Druckmann. Where everything is seemingly “look it’s symbolism!” Maybe a better way to explain it is that the game is concerned about what it should say in every major scene and not letting the characters dictate the chemistry. If that makes sense? It’s hard to explain because of spoilers lol, so I’ll just leave it here.

As someone who played TLoU 1 way after it had released (PS4) and wasn't really invested in the characters, I disagree that the storytelling from what I've played (about 5 hours) makes sense. I read the leaks too so I know why certain things happened but the placement and pacing of where and how these things happen is what I criticize. The way the things happen also don't really make sense with the way the characters would typically behave or with how you would expect a person to act given the world's situation in the story. The gameplay is more fluid than the original but so far every encounter has felt like a series of QTEs where you stealth around press triangle to instakill an enemy whereas the encounters in the 1st game felt almost like puzzles. The gameplay in the first one was pretty bad but that was more due to the game just not feeling all that responsive (ie: melee attacks straight up whiffing or enemies not being phased by them). If you get spotted, you just hide and do it again. It makes the combat feel tedious. The only thing that really stands out as exceptional is the graphics/lighting/animation but I think we've reached a point in graphical fidelity where we're getting diminishing returns. I could look at games like GoW or RDR2 and it's not like one looks significantly better than the other. I do like the added exploration as well though and I'm happy they didn't go overboard and go full open world. It seems like a decent game but with some cheap storytelling gimmicks and uninspired gameplay for the most part. I'd like to hope it gets better later on but I've played plenty of ND games before so I already know what to expect from the gameplay department. I'll just treat it like a B-movie and admire the technical capabilities of the artists and animators. Edit: I forgot to mention that the framerate and film grain is annoying but that's to be expected given the fact that it's on console.

That is a terrible framerate. I'm not expert but from what I know if your framerate is not at 30 or 60 you will experience a sort of frame jitter that is really distracting. So 30fps actually looks and feels smoother. As far as I know only gsync monitors alleviate that issue

The story is trash! The new characters are flat and have no depth at all. Compare them to the characters in the first game. Like Tess, Marlene, Bill, David, Sam and Henry. They’re much better characters who impacted the story of the first game in a huge way! When Jesse and manny get instantly killed I honestly felt nothing at all lol and the reasons being was there characters weren’t developed enough to even care about there deaths, like when those two die they’re hardly even mentioned again and there deaths seemed to have no impact at all on the main characters! When manny died Abby just kept going as if nothing happened. Same with Jesse. In the first game when we find out Sam was bitten and then gets infected. Henry feels so empty and hopeless and ends his life! That shit hit us hard! It was so damn sad. When Tess gets bitten Joel’s reaction is REAL and impactful to story. Bill was amazing too. When Ellie kills David (superb villain) and meets Joel again this part of the story develops the relationship between both Joel and Ellie and it’s just masterful writing. Anybody who’s saying this story is great or better than the first are just simply in Denial! The game SUCKS
