The person we saw them eating was Alec, the man Joel killed and the father of the girl David slapped. Yes she and her mom along with everyone else ate her dad. Something interesting is that the scene at the end where Ellie is found by Joel was shot before they did the scene where stheyactually killed David. Even Pedro Pascal was shocked to hear that, he had no idea at the time and assumed they had gone through the trauma of the death scene to get them to the place they needed to be as an actor for the scene with him. Bella said that the real horror of that scene was the realization by Ellie how much she enjoyed the violence that was unleashed in killing David. It's what ties Ellie and Joel together. David was truthful and correct when he said that Ellie has a violent heart. The monster in him recognized the monster in her and Ellie knew he was right which is what bothered her the most. That monster that's been unleashed in Ellie is going to be the driving force in the next two seasons.

23:47 well the show didn't spend enough time on the bonding, but in the game Ellie and David get attacked by a whole bunch of infected, and their fighting together might be getting him to see what a valuable fighter she was.

I was waiting for you to get here Evie. This is the episode Bella Ramsey submitted that got her an Emmy Nomination. "Kin" is what Pedro submitted. This episode is really dark and proves the humans are more dangerous than the cordyceps. They are worse in the way they still have the ability to think on their own, and the darkness they get to. Hence Kathleen in Kansas City and David here. That last scene with Joel when Ellie realizes it's him. The embrace is just the topper on the Christmas tree for me. Did you notice the watch was in plain view in that scene? It's as if both Joel's daughters were with him at that point. Sarah as embodied in the frozen time on the watch, and Ellie, his new daughter. Trivia, as you know I'm want to do, James is played by Troy Baker. Troy is the original Joel in the video game. I'm sad we're coming to end of this show with you. Next episode is it for season one. That one won't likely be up until after Christmas. If I can't be here for another video due to family tings, I want to wish you, your family, furbabies, and your new little one the Merriest of Christmases. One of the hard things to do with this story is realize no one is a "good" person. The only reason we love Joel and Elly is because they are our main characters and it is Internet Daddy. Moral perspective at the end of the world is gone. It is all about survival. All humans will do what it takes to survive. Even our "good" guys. That is something the showrunner did good was take the video game story and make it even more compelling about moral choices and blurred lines.

Damn Evie! You made him slap that little girl down! lol but I love this show so much! They stay faithful to the games where it counts and change it up enough so it’s not just the same and give us unexpected moments, it’s so good! Can’t wait for season 2, but I’m curious if they’ll change the golfing scene or not, giving the audience the perfect… “Tee Off” may be difficult to accomplish…

There will be AT LEAST three seasons. Part 2 is very long and way too much to squeeze into a single season, even if they'd do 12 episodes. So the Part 2 show adaptation is still years away.

I hope you didn't find too much of a dip in your viewership, this episode is a tough one to digest, a lot of PTSD from the NPC side of this episode for Me. I watched it once, to see the continuity to the game, haven't been able to watch more than a few sec since.

This is consistently the most popular episode actually, so I don't think it would have a negative effect on her viewership, probably the complete opposite. It's the highest rated episode from season 1 on IMDB. It is the best episode of the season I think. Tense, moving and it never lets up.
