The reflection of the orange COIN LAUNDRY sign over Henry's eyes is something I didn't even think about while watching this episode, but makes so much thematic sense. That is one hell of a catch, Nate! That was definitely intentional. Holy crap.

This was a great episode, and wonderful reaction again! Both Kathleen and Henry died at the end because of their love for their brother, both because they went to their extreme form of love, vengeful love and self-sacrificing love respectfully. I think it's the opposite at the grave; Joel isn't getting colder. When Tess died, Ellie hung around to grieve, while Joel shoved his emotions down grimly and pressed on. This time it was Joel who lingered and Ellie who left. He is becoming more emotional, and she is becoming colder/more traumatized. I also think she left so fast because the faster they leave, the sooner there will be a cure. The sooner that will never happen again (in a child's mind). Fun Fact: Cordyceps is one of the fungi that is composed of chitin; crustaceans and a lot of arthropods also have a lot of chitin in their exoskeleton. As the infected get worse and worse (covered in more and more of the fungus), you can kind of think of it as having more and more armor/exoskeleton. So Bloaters are have inches and inches thick of armor on him.

Fun fact: Adam Basil, the actor who played the Bloater in this Episode is 6'6 Foot Tall (1.95 cm), and the full Bloater suit weight is at least 80 Pounds (40 Kg).

I’m totally with Nate on every comment about Kathleen. She’s the worst.

At the beginning, it made no sense that Kathleen would be the new leader of Kansas City. But after looking at this episode, it started to make sense. Kathleen probably started off as a middle manager or some sort of primary school teacher, but her ruthlessness allowed the others to disregard Michael (her brothers) probably passive resistance to FEDRA. Because of her frame and mousy voice, FEDRA would completely underestimate her as a possible threat. She gave her followers (who needed revenge against FEDRA) permission to be ruthless in return. Ruthlessness that showed results as opposed to her brothers passive approach. And because of that Ruthlessness. Kansas City is now doomed.

Perry's actor is played by the same man who voiced Tommy, Joel's brother in the game this is based off of Also Ellie, played by the power house Lady Mormant in game of thrones who rallied the kingdoms of the North at 12 (in the show) when the entire table of men didn't have the courage lol

@@angelicafigueroa0221 From a stylist perspective, I think it's just the hair, Ellie's hair in the game is not feasible in that real setting. And yeah, for real, the acting is what matters the most. I've seen so many skeptical reactors change their minds after actually watching the show.

Bella Ramsey "Ellie" is brilliant...I just found out she is 19 !! That's why. They do that in Hollywood, hire an actor that looks too young for their age; mature mind playing much younger. Ever wondered why many child actors end up being short adults? They are picked because they were small for their age.

Henry was smart to put Sam on Joel because he saw that he has a kid with him and likely has a soft spot for them. He was right.

In the game Sam being bitten was nobody's fault. In the show to be honest everything that happens is the result of Henry putting Sam's life above all others. By betraying Michael, he was responsible for his death which led to Kathleen taking over the leadership of the resistance. That change in leadership led to the slaughter of the FEDRA soldiers and collaborators after the success of the rebellion, something Michael would not have allowed had he lived. Henry's act led to Kathleen's obsession with finding him and exacting revenge that she viewed as justice. That obsession led to the final confrontation which resulted in the death of everyone in KC. She was cold and callous when she said that kids die every day, but she also wasn't wrong. Henry put Sam' life above all others. Above a man who was leading people and working to improve the lives of everybody. If Kathleen hadn't taken charge the rebellion could have been snuffed out with many, many more people dying at the hands of a victorious FEDRA. When they were finally about to escape it was Henry who ignored Joel's warnings about talking and being careless that made the sniper aware of them before he saw them. Remember, he had already radioed into Kathleen before he started shooting at them. It was Henry, not Ellie that he heard first. So, everything that happened because of that including Sam being bitten could be trace back to choices Henry made and things he did. Unintended consequences flow out like ripples from a rock tossed into water. Joel is going to be faced with a choice that will affect far more people than the choice Henry made, and the consequences will be the theme of the next season.

Peoples automatic reaction to hate Kathleen without patiently waiting for them to reveal her motivations is probably the most frustrating thing I’ve seen reactors keep doing. Like I don’t understand this need to get answers right away and give into these assumptions.
