People would like to put off the inevitable (or make it not happen at all) but what this trailer shows are both scenes that lead into what happens to Joel (Abby being saved by Joel from the infected) and things that happen after what happens to Joel (Ellie playing and singing Take On Me to Dina, the SCARS and the WLF). There is the scene of Ellie screaming and crying but she isn't lying down under someone's boot like in the game so it could be when she gets the tattoo to cover her bite mark. But judging from everything else shown the "event" concerning Joel is going to happen in Season 2 and given that it's a shorter season than 1 it's likely to happen fairly early rather than later in the season.

I remember allot of the hate being BEFORE the game got released, and it was -drum roll- TRANSPHOBIA! *sigh*. The discourse was toxic as F, calling Abby trans, since she had muscles. I’m not sure how they will break it up. I don’t think it would play as well if it’s broken into 2 seasons. It would mean we’re following the antagonist from season 2 throughout season 3. I think they will split each episode into days like one episode is Seattle Day 1 with Ellie, then Seattle Day 1 with Abby, etc.

Love the reaction, as always! soo.... here's the thing about spoilers. There's always people who act in bad faith trying to spoil for everything... Star Wars shows, Marvel Shows, everything. But for the Last of Us, especially as we move into Last of Us 2 territory, there are dedicated haters who have dedicated unbelievable amounts of time and energy trying to spoil everyone they can because of the enormous hate in their heart for this story. I know, I know - "everything has haters, this is no different". I'm telling you right now, Last of Us 2 hate is beyond any other hate you'll find in all of fandom. For those of you (Normies and fellow fans reading this alike), if you think you'll avoid spoilers because you just won't look them up, I'm just trying to serve you fair warning. There is a dedicated hate community like no other that will try to spoil you by any means necessary since they think it'll decrease viewership and perception of the game and show. I wish you luck, and hope you are successful in avoiding spoilers. I just wanted to point out it might not be as easy as avoiding spoilers for other media properties.

Fielrst time I played game 2 I had a hard time getting over the beginning and left me sour for the rest of it to the point I stopped before the ending. Then years later came back and finished it and I saw things and understood things that were meant to be the point and ultimate lesson of it. And it's still beautifully done and I love game 2 as well.

The game came out in 2020 so if you have gone this long not being spoiled then you probably wont be since it comes in the beginning of 2025. Also Part 3 game is being made and the season 3 probably wont be out until 2027 and the game will most definitely be out before after that and then season 4 2029 or 2030

Season 3 will likely be filmed during 2025 and out in 2026 just as season 2 was filmed in 2024 and released in 2025. If you are talking about a third game that is at least 6 years away which is the typical development cycle for a AAA game and could be longer for TLOU3 given Naughty Dogs perfectionism and the new tech that future AAA games will be employing.

@@kkjhn41 Even Harder Neil Druckmann said they make a Third IF they can figure out a Working Story... atm they do another new IP Game which we will see probably next year. Also Naughty Dog went away from the Simultanious Development they started to do with Uncharted 3 because with the Last of US Multiplayer they decided to go back to Focus on Storys in Their games and not burning themselves in stuff they dont feel...thats why they canceld the Last of Us MP so yeah we wont see a Game Related Last of US Season 3 but MAYBE season 3 or 4 can be a FILLER season between Game 2 and 3.... IF they decide to make 3.... (also rumor/Fun fact Neil Druckmann said a probably Part 3 would Focus about War and different people trying to reunite Humanity...)

There are three main reasons for the controversy of the game among players old and new. 1) 10 year waiting between Part 1 and Part 2. 10 years of anticipation and expectation based on what was known. A great testimony to the love of the game that has been replayed so many times with the desire to continue with the characters and the world you fell in love with. Compare that with someone who simply played the 2nd part after finishing the first part. Not the same initial reaction. 2) The trailer previews of LoU2 were outright misleading to the point people felt deceived. Ties in with the first reason, they played on people's expectations in a way that only fueled the division later. It wasn't the kind of mislead where you drew your own conclusions either. It was showing a promise that wasn't fulfilled. 3) A forced narrative. There are many ham-fisted moments in the game forcing players to participate. It is one thing to witness things in a movie / show when you are an observer, it's another to actually take part in it. I love LoU2 but I understand why there is such hate. A lot of it is around Abby, but it's not necessarily with the character so much as what came with the character; including the points I mentioned above.
