Buggy is so cute and very intelligent. My grandchildren came to stay for a a couple of weeks recently and my 6 year old granddaughter got hold of a squeegee and was cleaning the car windows, her older brother who is 10 came up and said to her can I have a go and without missing a beat she just immediately said go get your own job😂

Buggy is so precious beyond amazing and smart. These memories are going to be with her for the rest of her life! Seeing her barefoot and outside in the dirt is so heartwarming. They are so literal at that age. My son told a story about that age about ambulances and helicopters crashing into the church once and it took me a bit to understand he was talking about our regional hospital "St. Charles" which has a cross on it and AirLife uses.

Your dirty rice story reminded me of one (homedaycare for 28 years). Kids were going down for nap and I laid on the floor with a book, with them. A 3 year old asked what I was doing. I told him I'm reading a book. He asked to see the pictures. I showed him the book and told him there weren't any pictures. He looked at me like I was dumb and asked me if I was practicing my abc's.😂

Dirty Rice, that's how the refrigerator gets cleaned out!!!! I loved Buggy's comment about the dirty rice. Just totally adorable!!! The rain is needed however, not all at once (as you said). We're getting about 3 to 4 inches. I'm worried about the potatoes getting too much water out in the garden. Now that is a lot of tomatoes y'all!!! I already see Meg canning, and freezing tomatoes. Life is good!

Beware of the water you drink!! Buggy bringing you all water brought back memories. When I was about her age my daddy was watching TV and I was playing in the floor, having a tea party with my dolls. They told me I brought daddy several little tea cups of liquid to drink and he would just down them and say thank you. Then he realized I couldn't reach any sink in the house. He ask me where I got the water from and I replied "mode". He said the thought of him drinking toilet water made him lose the meal he's recently eaten.

I was missing you guys! I use cottage cheese containers for my "uppotting". I finally started putting some of my stuff out...including tomato, but I only have two in my little back yard and they are pretty protected. We are going from below average temps to above for about 4 days, then back down to below. It really makes it hard to grow your own starts, because they get to big before the world is ready.

Try eating the radish seed pods before they get woody. They are juicy, and taste like a radish but milder. Great in salads, snacking, and fermented.

Corbin is always there to help. All the leaves on my budding lilacs died because we went down to 24F degrees overnight a bit ago. Love those sun golds! Nice up potting on the tomatoes. Starting new plants and important things are some of the things we need to think about planting near to our the house, so that we don't forget about the important things. Lil Ms Buggy has grown into quite the Lil Gardener with recognizing the zinnia. Loved her putting her feet in the dirt of the greenstalk being a trrue little gardener so she can feel the spring dirt. Your future farmer of America, love it! Brings me Joy watching her enthusiasm doing whatever Mom or Dad is doing. She seems to be a Daddy's girl. We watch the sky and the strange things that now happen on a regular basis. Illinois is known to be cold then hot, but having 1 sunny day a week is unheard of. It demands a ggreenhouse. I feel blessed watching your family prayer befor supper. I believe there will be a time in this Country that people will wish they had food to be thankful for.

Glad to see y’all are doing well, those cold snaps are a pain, but it’s just the way it is. Was supposed to get down to 29 here in NE Tennessee but I prayed that we wouldn’t get a frost or at least that it wouldn’t be bad, turned out it only got down to 38 and no frost......The Lord didn’t have to do that and I didn’t deserve it at all but am thankful. We all need to be praying over our gardens and just homestead in general cause the Father is the one in the end who is in control of it all. Y’all have a blessed day!

Good idea to pot out again. I have grew tomatoes for years. They get repotted, and deeper for several times. The deeper they go the stems fill fill with many more roots. Loved the squeal of joy in the swing, Buggy is becoming a pro grower. She is also becoming knowledgeable in the kitchen . Loving loving loving watching her .
