Fun fact: that Frogger port for Genesis was made by one guy, who used an arcade ROM dumped into the Internet and early Genesis emulator Genecyst for the development.
@sickanboy3 жыл бұрын
Funny, it seems to be more then just the emulated arcade rom tho. Some of the bugs from the original seems to be fixed in the Mega Drive version..
@dan_loup3 жыл бұрын
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 Not really. Emulators with debuggers have pretty much the same features as the ICE debuggers etc.. and if you have access to the ROMs you can see the graphical data etc in a pixel perfect manner or even just convert em. The part that totally sucks using an emulator is the imprecision, specially on early stuff like the genecyst. it's pretty easy to end up with a thing that only runs on the emulator.
@dan_loup3 жыл бұрын
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 Back then you probably could already find some techdocs on the mega drive on the internet and a 68000 assembler (if not a C compiler). And if the dude had some background in Amiga/Atari ST programming, it would be quite easier. But those techdocs from back then were full of speculation and guess work as well, so the biggest stumbles would be to do things the real genesis don't like.

Oh man. This was a great episode. Too bad the master system didn't get any love in this one though. Guess it has to wait til the next one.

Well done on managing to feature so many platforms that didn't just finish with yearly update sports games.

On Black Matrix, you need to select the first option in the menu that is "move", define where you want your character to be, then select the action, it's mostly like FF Tactics. Personally, I think Shining Force games are better, the command "move" is not necessary, basically you'll always want to move your char 99% of the time anyways, if you don't want to move, just press the action button and select what you want to do, but those that prompts you to select "move" are needlessly bureaucratic. PS: As a Brazilian, you're not far off thinking Tec Toy doesn't feel official. They were good representing SEGA from the early 90's until the end of the Saturn, besides that, they're mostly amateurish, really, specially the "games" they tried to make. I commend them for translating Phantasy Star to Portuguese, as well as dubbing and translating all scenes and text in Riven, the voice actors did a great job on that. It's kind of rare they made something software or even hardware-wise notable.

Correction on the last game for the NES, at least in North America, Wario Land was the last released for a licensed game, while the last game from any company was Sunday Funday.

This was a really good idea for a video! Way more interesting than launch titles at this point (at least when it comes to the major consoles.) Doing a video on last released games for hand helds could be fun.

Joe I don't know if you mixed up the transition music in this video but I really like it. Something about it being part of the same song each time really did it for me. Thanks as always for the content :)

Cannon Spike is great!!... thanks for mentioning Psikyo when you brought it up,no one ever does just Capcom.. also if you think about it, its play style is kinda like a much faster and contained version of Wolfteam's Grenada on the genesis... well, sorta... i guess any top down shooter could be compared that way..but thats what it reminded me of when i first played it... just capcom peeps instead of a little blue tank..

Would you count Starfox 2’s release on the SNES Classic as the final officially released game? I honestly could see arguments for and against.
@MarcoMazziniYT3 жыл бұрын
My opinion: it was never released on the SNES, so it doesn't count.
@breakfasthole38513 жыл бұрын
There are new games still being released legit for SNES on both cartridge and download only (for Everdrives and emulation). They don't carry any Nintendo branding because they don't license SNES games anymore. If we're talking about unlicensed games, even the Atari 2600 is still a current console
