The only comparable ones are George IV and Edward VII, both of whom became Heir Apparent at birth. George IV succeeded his father in 1820 after a reign of 60 years, but George III could not function as King from 1811 so the Prince of Wales acted as Regent before becoming King. Edward VII succeeded his mother, Queen Victoria, in 1901 at the age of 59, about 14 years younger than Charles. In fact he never reached the age Charles is now.

I met King Charles in Wales a week after he became king and I will be writing to him wishing him and Princess Catherine well during their recovery from cancer. Hearing the king’s diagnosis on February 5th was incredibly sad for me because it marked one year since my illness in 2023 (not cancer related) and Woody.EXE expected me to cry anyway because we’ve both been through hell and I could never imagined what it would’ve been like for Woody.EXE now if I had died, i imagine he’d be grief stricken like hell because he had literally saved my life a week before i nearly died but I’m all recovered now back to my Queen self again

There are at least two "Last Post" calls: the infantry version is played on the bugle and is the one often heard at Remembrance Day commemorations. @@pedanticradiator1491 pardon my mistake - I most humbly apologize. I was in much to much of a hurry when writing my comment and I was thinking of William's son who is second in line for the throne. I salute King Charles III and the Queen consort. I do believe the British people will be well served when William and Kate become King and Queen consort - they just seem to have that magic touch with the people and knowing William's background he is most decidedly a people person. The British are being well served by King Charles III and will be well served by a King William (if he keeps that name as monarch). I do hope that Harry never returns to your fair country - he hurt his late departed Grandmother Queen Elizabeth II terribly as well as all the members of the royal family - I see him as a sick man and a disgrace to Britain.

I was fortunate to find my original comment and have done as you suggested - I have changed the name of your king to King Charles III - but please realize how many comments are posted in this place and then one has to look somewhere for the exact post needing to be corrected. As you may or may not know, You Tube only retains posts for a specific number of days depending on the amount of posts. I did reply to you with an apology on the incorrect name of your King - my mistake certainly wasn't intentional as are the so many slights I receive when I write comments - in fact on my living room table I have an original copy of the life of Charles - purchased when my niece was in England and a book on the late Queen. Perhaps you haven't been able to find my apology - that is the fault of You Tube and not me. I did apologize about the incorrect name as soon as I read your post to me regarding the incorrect name given for your King in my reply. Just for information - I watched the entire coronation proceeding of King Charles III and I also watched all of the available broadcasts of the late Queen Elizabeth II including all three memorial services - I receive on my television service BBC and BBC News - I was watching when the original announcement was made of her passing (not the posting of her passing on the fence surrounding Buckingham Palace) and I like so many other people mourn her passing - she was a great person and a great monarch - my family heritage dates back to the days when my ancestors lived in Wales. In my reply to you I also indicated that I used the name of Williams's first born as being second in line for the throne and that Harry should never be allowed back in the country of his birth since he made a personal choice to leave the royal family and your most noble country - unfortunately he now resides in my country as an unwelcome guest.
