You didn't mention the importance of The Last Promise to the FE hacking community. It's one of the first complete hack that fully overhauls the base game. Blazer accomplished a lot with TLP that would go on to make many better hacks possible.

About the post-game content you addressed at around 21:00: The creator of the hack isn't providing support for the hack anymore and has quit Fire Emblem hacking in general.

Fun fact: this hack started off as a sort of community project full of self inserts and if I remember correctly it was originally going to be an Elibe hack (term used in the Hacking community for all the hacks that have been made that take place in Elibe, it became so common it turned into an inside joke). I won't go inyo details either but the creator and the main spriter aren't on best terms with the community, a bit too much Kelik/10

actually it's more like both of them weren't on best terms with each other and probably never made amends since. i remember Nayr taking as many cheap shots at Blazer as he could after leaving the team. this happened after i got banned from FEU for bullshit that was completely subjective so i don't really know what really transpired between the two but I can safely say it got real ugly real quick.

It's stories like these that have made me quite hesitant to start any projects involving other people, especially when it's someone you can't easily contact. It has also made it important for me to practice pixel art, coding etc. more so I wouldn't have to rely on other people constantly just to get things done once I start doing something productive again. And it looks like the first thing I might try is importing some of the FFT classes to some sort of a FE fan game engine or a hack as a little experiment. I don't have much motivation to start now, especially after seeing game industry rotting away for so many years.

6:30 to be fair 90% of hacks assume that you're looking to play their hack because you played the original game and don't need a tutorial. As for the older games, the tutorial was largely in the hand book you were expected to read.

My biggest problem with Shon is that he barely grows. If you do his sidequest, he does get a little more spine in his back but it doesn't account for much. Even after doing it, he still does participate in the final battle. While his whole character leaves a lot to be desired, him being able to face his father would've been a nice conclusion. It kind of makes him becoming a great unit feel pointless...

Every time I tried grinding up Shon to be somewhat competent, he paled in comparison to most of my other units. I'm a jackass and I never learned to play FE games the right way, so funnily enough, Howard and Corben were my go to horseback units. If he could actually fight in the last chapter, it'd make more sense for his development.

IT apparently also had a segment in a chapter where the enemies came in saying "Cant Let you do that Siegfried" and the Star wolf theme was supposed to play but they cut the Star Wolf theme (I know this because someone saw it was in the games files)

The Star Wolf theme does play in-game, but not at that point (surprisingly, given the line). It's used as an ally phase theme in a different chapter.

For the large part, I agree with your review. But I disagree strongly on your discussion of Kelik. Yes, he is a douche from the moment he pops on screen and I won't even try and defend that. However, throughout the story he undergoes notable changes in his demeanor as he slowly warms up to those around him. Hell, there's even a cutscene where he opens up to Siegfried about his reason for rebelling against Magnus. And after hearing Siegfrieds reason, he actually admits to misjudging his resolve. Your assessment that Kelik is devoid of character flaws is simply not true when his flaw is having severe trust issues to the point where he alienates most people around him even if they wish to help him. Yes, this makes him an edgelord, but that doesnt automatically equate to him being a bad character. Kelik's flaws are mentioned throughout the game by other characters and by the end, he's become noticeably more accepting of others. Hell, you are even given the option to spare Leons life, which I always choose because it makes sense with Keliks development. I understand if you don't share these views, but its frustrating to see how much hate Kelik gets when he's in fact a really complex character

I'll touch up on a few key points that were missed. This game has voice acting. Yeah, you heard that right. Voice acting. And it is so hilariously bad it's cringe-inducing. Instead of having someone who's had experience or at least decent enough practice in voice acting, a lot of it was done by Blazer himself. And it really shows. Liquid is actually recruitable, but the way to recruit him is kinda cryptic. You don't just talk to him just like you normally would; you literally have to engage in battle with him at least once with Haas. And seeing how dangerous he is at this early part of the game, that in itself is a risk. So you wouldn't normally think about doing that. I was part of this project a long time ago, by the way. Does the name, "Eduardo" sound familiar to you?

I’ve gotta say, you can get a lot more enjoyment out of this game if you LTC it. (Low Turn Count) To save Turns, I had to choose between saving around 4 turns, or promoting Inanna and gaining more movement to ferry and potentially save turns later. Sure the urgency was self imposed, but goddammit it was fun.

Pegasus knights are still as overpowered as always. They can still ferry units, and in fact Pegasus knights in last promise have inflated bases and growths, especially Inanna. They get the triangle attack, Leviathan, and again, they can ferry units across mountains.

Well no because Pegasus knights are known for there low defense meaning Bows can really screw with them, And Axes. Also most of them don't have good strength to do effective damage. (Aside from a few of them.) So no they are not overpowered. Oh and I nearly forgot who use the triangle attack? Because not a lot of us use it.

@@royalhistorian5109 Bows aren't ever really a problem as long as you can get a delphi shield early game. And Triangle disadvantage only adds 1 damage, so axes are more of a slight threat rather than an immediate death. And low attack? Are you playing the same game as me? I'm sorry, but Lirin's a nuke. Lirin has 10 base strength, a 45% growth, and Inanna can deal good damage by sheer virtue of wielding lances. (Better accuracy than axes, and more power than swords.) Pegasus knights are always good in FE, and Last promise is no exception. (Except FE7, pegasus knights were ass in that game.)

Also it really doesn't solve the defensive issue and it doesn't help that Axes have the highest might. 2: Wyvern riders can do this job much better! 3: Axes are really good in most cases as they deal a carp ton of damage. I mean look at Radiant Dawn Axes. However in Fire emblem 4 Axes sucked balls but than again so does Javelins. 4: They often have high speed, low strength and low defense. Also there con can be a problem as heaver weapons like the Steel weapons or Heavy Spear can weight them down. 5: Even though Bows are a mix bag they can still deal a carp ton of damage against fliers (aside from Wyvern riders) 6: Triangle disadvantage also affects your hit rate. I mean in Fire emblem 6 there a shit ton of Axe units in the beginning and in Tellius series Axes are god like in that game. Also doesn't help that Haar and Jill exist. (maybe not Path of Radiant Haar as his speed isn't that great) 7: Fire Emblem 7 actually had really good Pegasus Knights, I mean all the Pegasus sister are pretty solid and often don't get screwed over as most enemies wield lances. Unlike in the Tellius Series. So I am sorry but Pegasus Knight aren't that great once you look at the facts.

Kai 676111 The last promise’s late game bosses all have insane dodge, so Triangle attack is a must have, in fact with a good setup, you can one turn the Dragon and the Final map. Also Wyverns don’t ferry better than Pegasus knights. Wyvern riders have more constitution, so they have less aid. If you want low turn counts, you should focus on your Pegasus knights a bit more. I got only 16 turns on Holton’s map, and I still have room for improvement on that map. Also after replaying last promise, I just have to add in that Alice is a lot better than I remember.

Like for example in Fire emblem 6 you can only get the last sister Juno in route A in Chapter 20. And the worst part is.....she sucks! Another example is Est (Not echoes Est but even so the triangle attack got nerfed) who is shit most of the time. The only good Pegasus sister that I seen is Fire emblem 7 where all of them are good but even so Fiona is the weakest out of the three. Wyvern riders on the other hand are all amazing in fact none of them shit in any game. Yea they have less aid but I am going to ask is that really important? As Con is much more important then aid as Pegasus knights get weight down by the heaver weapons. In fact even so they can still pick up most units. Oh also Paladin can do the same thing or hey I can just use a Wyvern rider. In fact the only reason why Caeda is good is because she has that Wing spear (which is the most broke weapons in the game) but without she would have been easily been replaced by Minerva. Also the last promise late game bosses having insane dodge rates......yea no as some of the late game boss are piss easy. It just that the Throne is the problem not there dodge rates. Even so the last boss isn't even a dragon in the Last promise. And if your talking about Fire emblem 7 it even worst! As some of the mini boss have bows that can deal a carp ton of damage against fliers. Alice from the last promise......isn't that good in fact she just passable.
