I got a few iron heart shirts, I get on eBay cheaper and I go up a size from shirts I get else where because they do fit tight . Close from bass pro I wear a Large and with Iron Heart it’s 2XL

Man, that actually fits you PERFECT. Spot on and jealous of that fit. I've got 4 IH shirts but not any UHF yet... >.

I would love to get some iron heart stuff but I can’t pay that much for a shirt. Jacket’s definitely (even though their unlined plain canvas jacket is $400) but shirts are trivial for me. I like the made in the US button downs from gustin.
@DevonReviewer
@DevonReviewer Жыл бұрын
They are expensive, but I almost consider as an overshirt / jacket, so I am not wearing every day and washing frequently, they are nice and warm etc. How do you find Gustin quality?
@StolenAlias

@@DevonReviewer really good quality. I can’t speak for anything but the button downs but they’re super solid in a lot of very high quality fabrics with a bunch of fits.

Hello, Most flannel shirts are either work shirts or look best when worn in rural areas. I'm looking for an "urban flannel shirt." What are the Japanese flannel brands with the following. I would like to find a flannel shirt that has all five of these qualities if possible. Perhaps too there are artisans that make custom flannel shirts: 1) Soft gauze 2) Slub flannel 3) Narrow spread collars 4) Either one flat pocket or no pocket 5) Stealthy, elegant, captivating plaids Thank you.

Great flannels for sure, I got the black herringbone one just before Christmas. A great piece for sure, use it in the workshop all the time. A bit steep on the price though IMO and sizing is a bit strange compared to others.

Love the Iron Heart shirts, but I've been worried about the fit. I have proportionally short arms, so it's always a challenge getting (especially Japanese) shirts/jackets that are roomy enough in the chest and shoulders but not comically long in the body or sleeves. I might have to swing by their UK shop and try some things on to get an idea of their fits.

You may want to check out UES brand and their heavy flannel. Arm and body length are shorter on those, and a bit cheaper

@@erikcooper1593Not the original commenter, but do you have other recommendations for those with shorter arms? I ordered a UES flannel for Christmas because I saw they’re measurements are more “Western,” but curious if you know of other similar brands.

I bought my first UHF (Sax Blue) back in November and I love it! If money were no object I’d have all the UHF’s! The only issue that I have is that they really are “seasonal” shirts because of how warm they are. Almost too warm, but in the winter it’s perfect. I also have the IHSH-33T which has about 10 months of wear (1-2 times per week). Looking forward to seeing some more fade progress like your shirt! How long have you had that one and how do you wash it?

The Iron Heart flannels are the best flannels ever IMO. I used to be a pendleton flannel guy, but when I discovered IH via their jeans, I never looked back. Every UHF is different. Some are softer, some are more coarse and slubby. But one thing is a constant, the absolute amazing quality. Also, I tend to size up, because I like a more oversized look. I'm typically a medium or large, but in IH shirts I always go XL... One sleeper from IH is their Kersey shirts. Absolutely stunning. I would say my only gripe is the size of the cat eye buttons. I wish they were just slightly bigger.
@DevonReviewer

Thanks for the feedback, I was thinking about trying a XL but the fit on this is great out the box, I much prefer a fitted look, will see how things go after the first wash! I will make sure I check out the Kersey when I get the opportunity!

Very nice shirt, thanks for the review. There's a 10% discount and free hemming service if you can visit Iron Heart in person (subject to appointment), will even give you a walk around. I am in the fortunate position of living less than 5 mins from their UK HQ.

Ah, are they still doing that? Its a couple of hours drive for me, but I used to live in Portsmouth so a good reason to head that way and check the old place out... might see if I can get some footage, looks like that they have a great set up there!

300 pounds I am guessing that is like $500/550 Australian. I won't be rushing out to get any soon....... Dixxon USA are a reasonable substitute.
@SomeoneWhosNearby
@SomeoneWhosNearby 8 ай бұрын
Dixxon are absolute rubbish compared to iron heart UHF. They don't even come close to to iron hearts 9oz flannels either. Thin flimsy made in China mass produced rubbish with terrible construction and loose threads everywhere. After buying iron heart I sold all mine on ebay. Saying a dixxon flannel is a reasonable substitute is like saying a push-bike is a reasonable substitute for a harley Davidson lol

There doesn't seem to be any pleats in the back to help with the chest roominess. How can a $300+ work shirt not have pleats? Gussets I can understand but not pleats.

At almost £300 for a shirt(!), nobody is wearing this for work. Being made in Japan I'm sure the materials and craftsmanship are very high quality but the prices for all their items are insane and negate their use as any real functional wear and especially as work wear. These items will almost exclusively be bought and worn by wealthy white collar types who want to pose as blue collar on the weekends to look more masculine. All show, no go. It's a shame really as such high quality clothing is actually best suited for work wear in terms of durability, warmth and protection etc but that comes at a price which most working men would never pay, though they surely have a very high mark-up on these items too putting them in the hipster fashion category. Overalls at £373, work pants at £303, standard duck and denim shirts at around £300, even their basic cotton t-shirts are £70 each haha, that's absurd!

Well, this is what happens when all the profit-driven workwear companies outsource their manufacturing overseas and lower the quality of their products to maximise profits. You wind up with a situation where almost all of the time you're stuck choosing between affordable sweatshop clothes or decently made but expensive clothes. Iron Heart is certainly a fashion brand aimed at the motorcycle set - there are more affordable high-quality workwear brands out there that make stuff that will hold up just as well as Iron Heart but don't have the same attention to detail or ridiculous sourcing of the absolute highest-quality raw materials in order to keep prices down. But even then, most people would rather buy Carhartt or stuff from Walmart and replace it constantly than spend 2-3 the money on gear that will last way longer. It's just the way we've been trained as consumers.

@@_bats_ agree, once you actually see or own a Iron Heart piece, you will become addicted. Like you said the quality and materials fit and finish is totally top notch. I got the 21 oz non fade black trucker, then the brown herringbone work jacket…..I’m older now and see myself wanting to cut my wardrobe down to a few nice items versus a lot of crap stuff…
