Coming back to this album 12 years later, what amazes me is the maturity of the lyrics. From this song to Pretend, Face Up and Lions!, Lights speaks of dark subjects in a mature way, never in belittlement. It's amazing to think she wrote such honest and pure songs about things like depression at such a young age.

LIGHTS is the most inspiring and amazing person in the world. She keeps me going and her lyrics have so much meaning. This song really is amazing in every way. Her music is great and you know that because even after you take away the synths and beats and you only have guitar and the song becomes raw and organic the song is still great and maybe even better. I really love LIGHTS and meeting her was the best moment of my life.

Lights! I know lots of people believe this song is about encouragement... And maybe it is! But I just feel encouragement is too shallow to really sum up the emotions that you have put in to it. I've always felt it is about the pressures we sometimes feel from loved ones and close friends but we can always find our escape and answer in... well, music:) it is silly but I would absolutly love to somehow hear back from you. She lives up to the name of "lights" ... cause when she has that guitar and microphone, she shines... People argue her voice is generic, like a cliche'd voice. I don't entirely take notice, cause I think her lyrics are very good... Like the depth and meaning of her lyrics... Very impacting and some times moving. so good to listen to :)
