The Last Walk

As a 5 year old boy in 1963 i got to see my cousin make his first walk of honor and our family is still full of pride to this day. I Have my first photograph of him with my Kodak 110 mini camera still to this day in a place of honor.

Okay, so as the approaching officer stops in front of the new sentinel and the sentinel begins to check his rifle the officer seems to have quickly grabbed the rifle from his hands. Did he make a wrong move and forgot a step? I don't fully understand and willing to learn. 2:10

I Believe the process is to inspect the incoming sentinel for duty readiness and the outgoing sentinel is checked to stand down or hold himself in repose.
