Bravo 🙌 on behalf of The Band community,music lovers,and myself we applaud the masterful job you did in synching the audio to the film. Thank you for correctly curating the material in its original order. I fragmented it on KZbin a la carte to make it easy for people to cherry pick a particular song or artist. I am exploring a tip from another viewer who suggested a different method (Wet Transfer)to achieve a superior visual copy of the film. Both the focus and the exposure could be improved.Finally I would just like to add that my primary mission was to capture on sound film The Band’s final show for posterity.I purchased three tickets-we had thirty two movie film cassettes/movie camera/still camera w/telephoto lens/battery packs etc it was not possible to get enough film in to record everything. I wish I could have gotten a tripod in or been given a guest list & set list. In retrospect I question some of my filming decisions,but it was a seat of my pants type of productions.Thanks again for your work and I’m tickled Big Pink over the end result! Regards Leo

I'm sure a lot here have seen that footage. Also, my friend Ken was one of the official photographers. And then there was one :(

I will do the same, except it will be the bourbon (100 proof, of course!) that Levon is extolling in Rag Mama Rag, and that Richard is sipping throughout the show, and shared without permission by the Hawk as he enters the stage! Thanksgiving is going to be one awesome Last Waltz-fest this year, thanks to this video's addition!!!! I would LOVE to procure a DVD copy of this footage and any other: this is an absolute instant treasure that I want to keep forever with the rest of my trove. Is this possible?

It is very touching how rick danko and levon helm are helping richard manuel during " king harvest ", in the middle of the song he loses the word and stop singing and you can see on the next bridge, danko approaching the mic to sing along with helm and richard .

I HAVE NOT SEEN THIS FOOTAGE UNTIL TODAY!!!! Thank you so much for making this available, I will be reliving this landmark event in my life all day today, while I honor Robbie's passing and my own youth too. As I had mentioned in another post, I was at the show (!!!!) thanks to my possessing two tickets to a cancelled show in Berkeley that was supplanted by the Last Waltz, although I had to shell out the price difference ($8, I think, to $25, for which my buddy balked at paying the outrageous price hike (!)). We were on the floor for the whole show and there is a photo from a San Francisco photo archive that captures us on that floor! I took pencil song notes (lost/misplaced at present); Instamatic camera photos (most not good, shaky from rocking out, but I still have them and the negs); the circular program handout at the entry door (still have it) but not the poster, because it was handed out before the concert and was totally trashed by the end (!); and on a complete bootleg soundtrack of the raw concert, my voice requesting This Wheel"s On Fire, to which Robbie responded "You Got It!" This was my second Band concert, the first being an opener for CSNY in '74 at the Oakland Stadium ---- I was so won over by the Band that I was excited for the opportunity to see them again ---- you could say I was not disappoiinted!

There is a 3 part super 8 that was running at soundboard on tripod by one of Bill's FM guys has nearly all 5 hours of concert, andv here is other footage from the bssement ballroom at the myako hotel 3 + hour jam ended about noon. I was staged at the camera tracks next to Lee and horns One of biggest missteps was not fi 1:24:09 lming dress rehearsal night before, many incredible performances

I can't wait for the back stage footage to be released ! Surely Mr Scorsese filmed the musicians pre and post concert on a 16 mil cine camera for us folks at the very least ? Sitting there in a safety vault ,waiting for the correct time to unleash the cream of the 70's rock world having a party ...how tickety would that be ? Fingers x'd from Scotland !

I notice that Rick sings the first verse of Evangeline differently here and he did on the official version. One the version with Emmylou Harris, Rick's voice is more raspy and he pronounces return differently, with Evangaline he draws out ree-turn. I always love Rick's singing, I think he sounded better on the verse with Emmylou, not that he is bad in this version.

Fantastic footage, although the sound is terrible. But a milestone in Rock'n Roll history. Not ever heared any song of the Band before, I bacame a fan after watching the film in the cinema. Funny: The Band gave their final concert, and a normal guy starts to be a fan.
