The late Archbishop Job 15th Antiphon from Great & Holy Friday Matins

The late Archbishop Job sings the 15th Antiphon at Matins for Great and Holy Friday 2009. This video almost didn't happen. We had wanted to record Vladika singing this antiphon for years, but he often refused to sing it out of humility. This year we managed to convince him to sing it, and I was miraculously able to video it. Little did we know it would also be the last time he would chant it at Holy Trinity.
I posted this video because I want others to be able to enjoy its beauty, but please acknowledge where you found it if you post it on another website.

He taught me this in 1974 when he was a newly ordained Priest. We sang this for many years until he was Consecrated Bishop. After that he often refused to do it and we had to beg him. Thank you for posting this I will keep it as the treasure it is.

What a blessing it was to know Archbishop JOB. Twice a year he would come to St. Vladimir's Seminary and take the students from his diocese out to dinner and he always included me also. What an honor! I always enjoyed being in his presence. Serving on the Altar with him was always a joy. I could say much more about him. May his memory be eternal.

memory eternal. Every time I hear "a new commandment", I still am brought to tears. His wits and humor are greatly missed at my parish, and by the whole diocese. "...where sickness and sighing are no more." He left many enjoyable memories with the people he encountered, and should be a role model for the others in his position. Ultimately, he lead his herd with love, thus "a new commandment". Memory Eternal.

I cannot stop listening to this... I am moved spiritually to tears... to know that we had him in our midst and now he is gone. I only met him once in Kodiak my home... he was so open and receiving then too... I remember he was stil the only one who came forward on behalf of our church to stand face to face with evil... the only one... Still! May God number him among the just in His Kingdom

I had the honor of meeting Archbishop Job three years ago when he visited my parish. He was one of the most humble people I've ever met. His Panihida at St. Theodosius Cathedral was something I'll never forget. Vichnaja Pamjat Vladika!

Our beloved Archbishop Job! We mourn our loss but celebrate his gain oh Heavenly life. He can now sing this Holy Hymn with the Heavenly Choir of the Saints. If we believe, in a mystical way, that they truly are present with us in the Holy Services of the Church, if we listen hard enough with our Spiritual ears, we may hear him yet again. We certainly will hear him when we join him in that Heavenly Choir when the time comes for each of us to receive our reward.
