The Latest Mini Drone Killer: No Joke This Time!

Us ham radio operators know that the metal of a car blocks radio waves. We have to keep this in mind when using a hand held radio in a car. We solve this by connecting to an antenna outside the car. I'd love to see this for drones, a jack on the controller to plug in a different antenna. Antennas are everything in radio. If we could plug in a better antenna for a drone you see way better connectivity and range.

Dang, Vince that’s a really good idea. They do have those range extender things some people add to their controller antennas but an external antenna on the vehicle would be a lot more effective. Makes total sense to me. I’m not so much concerned about range because I normally don’t go buying 1500 feet or so with the mini drones but I do often have FPV feed freeze up on non DJI drones if I sit in the truck and fly. You should paten that idea and run with it seriously.

This nice drone can unfortunately only be a killer to Dji Mini 4 Pros higher price… Mini 4 Pro is on it’s own league in the under-250g-category… Nice demo of the Potensic drone - very interesting!

Awesome comment, Erik. I’d say you’re right concerning the Mini 4 pro being in its own league. That is probably the best drone on the market for people like me. I enjoy the sub 250 drone class and have really gotten to love the Mini 4 pro since last September. I just realized it’s September and it’s almost been a year since it came out. lol. Time goes by quick. Anyway, this potensic is really more comparable to the mini 2 I think. The only problem I had with it was the FPV feed freezing up. I really think it had to do with the location though. I’ve had problems with the mini 2 signal and stuff there before so I’m gonna follow up with a test somewhere else to see if it’s better. Great review Kevin! I started out with the Potensic Atom and still absolutely love it. The features of its fly more combo, the three batteries, the charging dock, and the included charger are all excellent. I purchased a DJI Mini 3 earlier this year, which is definitely more refined and has better range, but the Potensic is still a blast to fly and is very full featured. Love your videos!

Oh heck yea. This drone was really awesome but I don’t think it can compete with the mini 3 or 4 pro. They’re in a different leave of their own, eh? lol. I do think it gives the Mini 2 a lot of competition though for sure. The only problem I had here was the FPV feed froze up a lot BUT I really think the location played a huge part in that. I sort of forgot I’ve had issues with the mini 2 at that same spot before too so I’m gonna have to follow up at a different location to give potensic another really good shot. I’ve seen a lot of videos on this drone and very few have had any FPV feed issues. The Atom SE is a different story hahaha. Anyway, I’m gonna test it out at a different spot and keep you guys updated.

Alright brother, superb video as always, it’s a great little drone this one and for the price you really can’t go wrong! lol yea man, this drone is pretty awesome... I think it compares really well to the Mini 2 or 4K for sure. You're right, about the FPV feed.. That's the only problem I had during this whole flight (with the drone anyway). I do think the location may have been part of the problem though because I had some bad issues in the past with the Mini 2 at this same spot. Yea you make a great point. When I was in the field flying for this test it was hard for me to see the FPV feed freezing as much as it was. The signal was good the whole time so that’s comforting at least. So far I’ve really liked this drone though and I think it’s got a lot of potential. Yea, no killer yet though. Haha. I’m gonna test it more for the transmission feed in different locations, too because as you know some spots suck and some are great. I guess it may depend on the day, too. Yea I’ve heard that, too. It’s a shame they can’t overcome that interference like other drones seem to be able to, eh? It’s hard to make a review video without a mic. Hahaha. I do really like this drone and have flown it several times since this video in different spots. I think the FPV freeze up I was having here was more related to the location rather than the mic though because I’ve had problems with DJI at this same spot in the past. Sweet! Thanks for watching as always, buddy. Yea I plugged it into a power station to get a reading on the power it was using and it was using around 50-60 watts to charge all 3 batteries at once. I then plugged in the DJI Mini 4 pro batteries and it was only using 25 watts or so to charge one battery at a time. I’m not sure if it’s better to have 60 watts charging 3 at once or 25 for one at a time but Roberts math tells me it’s about the same. lol. I’m probably way wrong but hey, I’m a Roberts. Haha.

I have been looking at drones for a while now, of course looking for the "best bang for the buck", so to speak. The new DJI Mini 4K has me impressed. I'm glad I saw your video, as it shows the lack of video clarity at longer ranges. That is what turned me off previously. And the signal breakup at even mid ranges has me concerned. Other comments I have received is that Potensic Atom has a problem with timely service after the purchase. I don't know if it is true, but the potential problem has been mentioned by several. Something to be aware of. By the way, the proposed ban is for ALL Chinese drones, not just DJI.

There’s something about vintage drones. Haha. Anyway, regarding this potencies, I really do like flying it and it has a lot of positives. The only real problem I had was the FPV feed freezing up like it did. I need to try this again at a different spot though because I think it may have had a lot to do with the freeze up. I enjoy the mini killer video series because I am completely biased towards DJI so I'll admit that at the start. At the price point it does what it says it'll do but I think it still has a way to go to be a mini killer. I do think you have more to offer than the drone lol. Great video brother

I’m not sure why they get so offended but it’s like I’m putting down one of their inventions. I’m gonna retest the FPV transmission feed at another spot and also without my wireless mic because I’ve learned that could be an issue. I actually prefer my Atom over my Mini 2 (unless it is completely dark outside because the Mini 2 has a slightly bigger sensor.) No geofencing, built in waypoints, good quickshots, etc.. It's an awesome drone.

I have been on the fence for awhile, and would like to contact someone who actually has one, instead of reading a lot of hype. Do you have any problems that require service,and if so we’re you satisfied with the service? In the videos between the two, does the Potensic Atom have good clarity at range, compared to the Mini 2? @@Graybear78thanks for the comment, Lee. I really can’t help with the service quality as I’ve not had any problems that requires assistance from their tech support or warranty department. I can say though that at the range I fly (normally 1500 feet or less away from the homepoint), the FPV feed does seem to freeze up periodically. In this video it froze up a lot but I really think it was mainly due to the location. I’ve flown it several times since in different spots and it seems ok as long as I’m outside of the truck. If I’m sitting inside the truck, it has a tendency to freeze up rather quickly. I hope this helps and I’m gonna continue testing the signal and FPV feed. I’m hoping to have a follow up video soon as potensic released a new app update recently. Thanks again for the comment. God bless!

Pretty cool drone and review. I may have to look into this new drone just in case DJI gets banned in the US. I love how this drone lands and quickly shut off its motors not like DJI which takes a few seconds. I wonder if they're brushless motors on this one? Active track is a nice feature on any drone even though I don't have it on any of my drones. Another thing I wanted to mention is that I'm glad I purchased an electric scooter about a month ago and it was the best investment I've ever made because it lets me get from one place to another rather quickly without having to look for parking spot and wasting gas. I bought a pretty cheap scooter from TEMU and it gets the job done. Thanks for sharing another great video Kevin. God bless.

Heck yea, man! This is definitely the closest thing so far to a mini killer (still some work to do but close lol). Unfortunately though it’s still a Chinese drone so it may could be caught up in the ban, also. I’m still hoping the ban blows over and we are all left alone. Time will tell I reckon. Regarding the motors, they are brushless motors and honestly even the sound of it reminds me of the Mini 2. It’s almost a clone I think and they’ve done a really good job with it. The FPV feed wasn’t great where I was but I’m gonna test it at another spot to see if that’s how it is all the time. It was hard for me to see on my iPhone how it froze up but when I was editing it I noticed it pretty quick. Could be a myriad of problems (user error most likely) but I’ve seen videos where people have flown this thing 2 miles away with no FPV break up. You know some spots are hit and miss. lol. Oh, and I do remember you mentioning your scooter a while back. Don’t forget the kick stand!!! Hahaha

So far I haven’t seen a “Mini killer”. If you want a cheap drone, get the Neo and hopefully there is a combo with the goggles and flight stick. I had all of the other gear, so paying $199 just for the drone was a no brainer. I don’t know how much this drone costs…that would be the decision point for me if I was entering the hobby.

lol I totally agree, Phil. Ain’t nobody out there that can truly compete with DJI by any stretch of the imagination. This potensic did a really good job though and its features are pretty cool for sure. The Neo had been calling my name since they came out but I can’t seem to get the required approvals to get one (wife haha). This potensic is comparable in prices with the Neo so it would be a tough decision for me if I was new, too.

Very impressive little drone for those on a limited budget. I don't think it'll worry DJI, but there's definitely a market for feature-rich budget drones like the Potensic. I'm sure it'll sell well.

That's a really good point, Rick.. This is the first budget type drone I've tested out that even hold a candle close to DJI. I'm not talking about the Mini 4 Pro of course, but it can easily compare to the Mini 2 or the 4K for sure. I was impressed with it but I did have a problem with the FPV feed freezing up. I've not flown the original Mavic Mini before. I've seen it in person though.. haha I'd say the Mini 4 pro is in a league of its own so it's not fair to compare that, but the MIni 2, 2se, 4k, mavic mini all would be in the same ball park. The only real problem I had with this flight was the FPV feed froze up on me. It is cheap on Amazon these days, with -40€ coupon. But Mini 4K still destroys the Potensic Atom quality and overkills the 2-axis EIS of the Potensic Atom SE. It is still a great drone and one of the best budget drones in the market, but Mini 4K is hands down the king.

I can absolutely agree with what you said here. I prefer the Mini 2 though. Lol. I think there’s “real” competition for DJI but the potencies is definitely the closest I’ve seen yet. I like the extra features it has like follow and that stuff, too. I’ve used the maven app quite a bit with the mini 2 and it seems to be really reliable so that’s a great alternative to buying the potensic. I wonder if the maven app can be used on the Mini 4K yet.

lol thanks, Marcus.... Of course I've watched all your Potensic videos. Some more than once! haha... Anyway, the FPV freezing up was the only real problem I had with this flight. All the other problems were self induced (kick stand, blindness, etc.). I sort of think the location I was in may have contributed to the FPV freezing up though... I have had a lot of problems with the Mini 2 in the past at that same spot so I'm gonna fly it at a different location and see if it improves. I remember you mentioning the wireless mic may also interfere but I also remember you debunking that, also, eh?

lol how funny would it have been if I crashed that scooter on film? That kick stand is a jerk! Hahaha. Regarding the logging in every time, it’s hit and miss so far. I’ve not had to do it every time but I’ve had to do it more often already than with any DJI drone I’ve used. It can slow down deployment time for sure but it’s not that big a deal to me (yet). Let me miss a shot though and I’ll get back with you. Haha. I think I need to retest the FPV transmission feed though at a different spot as I’ve had issues with the DJI signal there before. I was so focused on the open road for the scooter I didn’t even think about that until it was too late. I’m gonna make more videos with this drone. I was seriously impressed and enjoyed flying it for sure.

That little drone has a weak signal. You’re not that far out for it to be breaking up like that. I can see how that would be an OK drone for a newbie but the DJI 4K would be a better option. Also, I like the message on the screen don’t drink and fly the drone. I thought that was funny. One thing I did notice and it may just be the video those blades look really, really small compared to the DJI MINI 4 Pro . What’s the top speed? I wonder in sport mode just wondering? That was funny. You watch the video on how to do active track to see how you get this thing to work. The kick stand love it! But good video and review !!

lol yea man there were some funny things that happened on this one. The kick stand about killed me and that dang active track button was elusive! Hahaha. I know this video was quite a bit long but I’ve been long winded lately. How can I curtail that? Kristi used to do the editing and she would edit out all kinds of stuff I thought was hilarious. Now that I’m doing the editing though, I can leave all that stuff and make you suffer through it with everyone else. Hahaha. Anyway, you’re right about the FPV feed. It was breaking up a lot more than I noticed when I was out there. I’m gonna do another test at a different location and without the wireless mic. I’ve learned wireless mics can interfere with the FPV feed. If that’s the case BOOOOO! I hope it’s not the case and it was just the location I was in. I’ve had problems with DJI feeds there in the past too. I’ll find out though and let you guys all know if it’s better somewhere else. I’ve seen videos on this drone where guys are flying 2 miles or so away and have no video break up. The good news is the signal was strong and it was just the FPV feed that was freezing, eh? And yea, you’re right. These blades are small. It’s more comparable to the Mini 2. It’s almost identical. And I don’t know yet about the top speed in sport mode. Pretty impressive beginner drone for a non DJI product. No match for the DJI Mini 4 Pro, which is in a class of its own, but compared to the DJI Mini 4K, or its predecessor, the Mini 2, it may take some purchasers away from DJI. But I'll bet it doesn't have the quality of DJI minis. I'd still put out the few extra bucks to get a genuine DJI product. Besides, you can't beat DJI's Care Refresh plan. But for a beginner drone, it does look to be an impressive competition, but not enough to convince me, if I was in the market for a beginner drone, and I wouldn't recommend it to my friends. But you gave it a good test.

Nor were they in the title. The mini I was referring to is definitely the Mini 2. I was genuinely impressed with this little drone and can see myself using it quite a bit. Especially for KZbin. Haha. My only issue was the FPV feed freezing up which was irritating BUT I think the location may have played a role there. I remember having some pretty bad interference with the mini 2 at that spot so I should’ve remembered that beforehand. I wasn’t thinking about that. I just saw the clear road and was focused on the active track. Hahaha. Anyway, I’m gonna do some follow up on this at a different spot and see if it gets better. Wish me luck!!

Try flying it without your wireless mic. Several people have noted that their wireless mic interferes with the connection between the drone and the controller. Potensic also advises that the drone is not designed to land in your hand.

Yea that's a great point. I watched several review videos on this before Potensic contacted us and I remember Idaho Quadcopter specifically mentioning that before. I think the location may have also been a contributing factor with the FPV feed freezing up. I've had problems with the Mini 2 in this same spot in the past. I'll be doing some follow up at a different spot to see if it improves. Fingers crossed it gets better because man, this drone is awesome! It's funny you mentioned the hand catching thing. I tried hand launching it and it wouldn't do it. It kept saying something about the IMU being off... lol I guess it's sensitive enough that it can tell it's not on a solid surface.. lol

I haven't been able to fly it much as I live in the Phoenix area and the 110°+ temps are not compatible with the drone or me for any extended amount of time. It should cool off here in about a month and I can get out and really fly it! I do remember reading or hearing someone in a video say that it won't take off from your hand. The IMU has to see a flat surface.

Ah good idea. I just checked and the only thing Potensic has on the FAA list I saw is their remote ID module. This drone doesn’t have an internal module so if it has to be registered it’ll need an external module. Booooo!! Just another added expense. lol

I had a lot of things going on at the moment. lol I’m lucky I survived that test. lol I am wanting to go back out with this drone and retest the FPV feed transmission. I’ve had some issues at that spot before with the Mini 2 signal so I’m wondering if that’s why the transmission was so jittery. My second comment on this...what are the actual specs of it? What are the photo and video options? Can you control ISO and frame rate manually? I saw a slider for white balance, but that's the only thing I noticed that was adjustable. I assume there's no RAW option for images? The color on this wasn't great, so it will need some heavy post-processing. Was it even able to record a video at all? The only video we saw here was from the screen record. What is the aperture, f2.8? How big is the camera sensor? Another person noted that it's a Sony sensor, but that doesn't mean much, as Sony makes most of the sensors for cameras, but 'tunes them down' to not compete with their own gear...most phones have Sony sensors on them, but if you get a Sony phone you will get far better camera quality than a similarly 'specd' one from Apply or Samsung. Even if the sensor is decent, if the processing in the drone is junk, your image will look like shit.

lol that’s a lot of questions that I unfortunately don’t have answers for. Those who have been with us for a while are pretty aware the photography part of drones is something that’s pretty much over my head. Lol. We are more for entertainment purposes rather than educational so if someone gets some educational out of our videos it’s usually unintentional. Haha. Anyway, it was able to record video and I put in a couple clips with the quick shot test. It seemed ok to me but it was really sharp. I’m still trying to find out if there’s a way to tone down the sharpness at least.

lol I would say you are right if someone is comparing this to the Mini 4 pro which is in a league of its own, but I do think it compares really well to the Mini 2 drones. I've not gotten a lot of flight time with this Potensic drone yet but so far I like what I've seen. The only real problem I had with this flight was the FPV feed froze up on me. I seriously think it could've been related to the location though because I've had a lot of problems with the Mini 2 in this location. I need to do a follow up at a different spot and see if it improves for sure. The signal seemed to be ok to me though considering how far out I normally fly.

Does iit have geo-fencing? some have mentioned altitude restrictions but I am more concerned with being unable to fly in some areas. I live near DC and VA, and those areas will not allow me to fly my Mini Pro 4. Some reviews noted a recent update changed some limitations so just wondering if this is free of fencing or not?

Awesome question, buddy. I’ve not tested the geofencing myself, but several people have commented that the Potensic doesn’t have geofencing. There’s some limitations of course when it’s in beginner mode but other than that it’s wide open. I’ve also watched a bunch of review videos on this drone and a couple of them mentioned it doesn’t have geofencing so that’s cool. Again, those reviews could have been on an older firmware and fly app version too so there’s always a chance they’ve implemented different restrictions since then. Hopefully this helped but reading back over it it makes it clear as mud. lol.

The only problem I had with this whole experience was the FPV feed freezing up like it did. I sort of believe the location could have played a big role in that though. I’ve had problems with the Mini 2 there before, too but was so focused on the clear road for the active track test I totally forgot about the interference at that place. Potensic need to keep up with the updates...they've been slacking recently. I have the same drone and bang for your buck, you definitely get that...its a competitor to the DJI mini 3 and the price is the factor. If they keep up with yhe software improvements and the low price, it could get very interesting, especially interested on the next one they bring out. DJI wont be allowed in the US soon, it's going to be decided at congress, as the CCP have too much control over using it as a spy device. If Potensic keep this legitimate, make improvements and keep yheir prices low, it could very well be a winner

I seriously couldn’t agree more. I’ve been watching a lot of videos on this little drone since receiving it and making this video and it’s really impressive. I don’t know if DJI has anything to worry about yet with them but like you said, they could really be a good fall back for us once the ban is passed fully. That is if they aren’t banned, too. lol. Any of the Chinese drones other than the DJI brand are second fiddle to the DJI mini series. The Fimi Mini 3 Pro might be closer, but even it doesn't have the range or the battery capacity compared to the DJI minis.

Yea you’re right there. I haven’t flown any of the Fimi drones but I’ve heard good things about them. I don’t really worry about long range but I do like to have good connection and FPV feed. I normally only go out 1500 feet or less from the home point so I don’t think it’s too much to ask to have a good connection that close, eh? I need to try this potensic at a different spot soon though to see if the FPV freeze up I had was from the spot I was flying from. I’ve had a lot of problems with DJI drones in the same spot. Looks like a great starter drone, DJI mini killer? certainly not unless you refer to the original mavic mini, but good to see other manufacturers catching up, even if it seems like a "copy and paste", people still use the DJI Mini 2 with alternative apps that have way points and follow mode.

I'm going to do this in 2 comments, because they're two specific things. For one, and I realize that this is purely subjective, but this drone isn't killing anything from DJI. This reminds me of the original Mavic Mini, (or potentially the Mini SE, since I believe that still uses the same style controller as the original Mini) but with (potentially) 4k30 instead of 2.7k30. It had a hard time hovering, even in no wind. It was constantly losing position with the camera and unstable, when it's right in front of you. Far away it's less of a problem, because the small amount of travel isn't as noticeable. But when you were going out over the water, the video was frequently stuttering - something that even the original Mini didn't do. I may have missed this in your video, but what is the retail price of this? Anything more than about $100-150, and it's not worth it. The app is junk, the color tone is terrible, and the range is garbage. This is one step above an eachine. In my opinion, of course.

lol I hear what you’re saying. I’d agree that this drone is more comparable to the earlier Mini series with DJi than anything current. I think personally the new Mini 3 and 4 pro drones are in a league of their own and nothing out there holds a candle to them. However, to me this drone is really comparable to the Mini 2 which we’ve been flying for a few years here on the channel. The only problem I had with this flight was like you said, the FPV feed kept freezing up. I’m not gonna count the drone out just yet though because I think the location could possibly have something to do with it. I’ve had problems with the Mini 2 at this same location in the past as well so I’m gonna be following up with some Lee tests on the potensic in a different spot to see if it gets better. My hope is it gets better because I thought this drone did really well for its maiden voyage. It’s listed for $399 with some discounts available so it’s sort of in the Mini 4k price point I reckon.

That’s an awesome point, man. The Mini 2 on the Maven app has all these functions. I’ve used the maven app quite a bit on our Mini 2 and love it. It even has a few extra features this one doesn’t have like auto homepoint update (I can’t remember the proper term lol).

DJI fly app has been for me a pain in the a## lately!! 😭 Because DJI fly app unfortunately stopped working on all Google Pixel 6 phones. With Android 14. All pixel 6 users are now affected with this problem. 2weeks ago. It worked fine. But now. Stuck on White dji fly app screen. 😭. I hope they solve this soon... Sorry i am off topic. Holy crap I hadn't heard about that until just the other day... Do you know if the Fly App update 1.14.0 helped fix that? We have the update video for that coming out today for the Mini 4 Pro and it worked fine... I haven't updated the Mini 2 yet though but will be soon... That's really weird because I thought DJI was trying to gravitate towards the Android market more so than the iOS stuff. I've seen the Rainbow app reviewed a couple of times but I've never tried it. I have the Maven app which only works for iOS devices... lol Maybe LItchi would be a better fit than Rainbow? I honestly have no idea but I've heard great things about Litchi... I really hope you get it sorted out, man... Not being able to fly your drone would SUCK!!!

Well I just updated everything with apk installer and it seems to work now. I finally have my feed back. It worked only with apk download and installer. I know you use Maven. But i am not an apple user. I know Litchin but never used it before. I am so used to the dji fly app... 😊 I am glad it works again. Thank you

I've been saying this for a long time, my review on Amazon asked the question "Why did I buy the DJI Mini 4 Pro". Answer I hadn't seen how good this Potensic Atom drone can be. This and the Fimi mini 3 are real competitors for the DJI and to make it sweeter, it's about a 3rd of the price for the combo verses the combo.

That’s awesome, Jim! I was seriously impressed with this drone and have been having a blast flying it. It reminds me so much of the Mini 2 drones we have but the extra features sort of make it more attractive, eh? I do like the price, too. Very cool drone for sure. I did have some FPV feed problems but I’m not sure it’s a Potensic issue. I’ve had problems with DJI in that location before, too so it may all be related to the spot. I’m gonna be doing more follow up videos testing all that out to be certain. I’ve seen videos where guys have flown this drone over 2 miles away with no feed break up so I’m leaning towards interference of some sort at the location. We’ll see. lol. Yea the FPV feed definitely had some problems during this first flight. I think the signal was ok though and the feed seemed to get a lot better when I got out of the truck. I’m not certain it’s a problem with Potensic or if it’s a problem associated with the location. I’m gonna have to test this somewhere else to double check on the FPV feed. I’ve had problems with the DJI mini 2 here at this spot in the past, too. I sort of forgot about that part. lol. I was so focused on using that road for the active track part I wasn’t thinking about the interference at that location. lol. Duh!

Potensic don't honor their warranty I purchased the highest warranty they have soon as I crashed my drone they telling me that I have to buy a new one after spending $150 on warranty then it was going around following me all over the Internet every time I post on people comments they would do like a counterpost on account and I'm pretty sure they probably going to do this one too they're a bunch of clowns I want today rival which is DJI I bought the mini 4 and I also bought the the neo spending over $3,000 on accessories and I can say I like the neo and the mini for better than that piece of crap there

Doubtful about the DJI Killer moniker. At best, we have a DJI COMPETITOR. Which in itself is an accomplishment - after 5+ years, someone finally made a Mini 2 / Mini 4k competitor! Signal, as Marcus Crawford found is still a work in progress. But it's viable. At this point DJI isn't losing sleep worrying about sales of this Potensic. They have sold more Mini 2 series drones than Ford sold Tin Lizzy's! PS I have a tio on not being able to see your screen. You live in Fla. correct? It's HOT in Florida, agreed? Get a decent Android device - a 2 or 3 year old Samsung S21/S22 PLUS or Ultra. Thats all. Your welcome. iPhones are great. iPhones out in hot weather are not. lol, yea I agree but I gotta keep with the Mini killer theme, right? I'd say you hit it head on with the Mini 2 / 4K comparison. That's what I was thinking, also. No way it's comparable to the Mini 4 Pro, right? No way... I was pleased with the signal for as far out as we normally fly, but the FPV feed was a concern. I can't say for sure that's a Potensic problem yet though because I remember having a lot of problems with the Mini 2 at that same location in the past. Every time I'm outside the truck I just can't see that screen. Yea you’re right. I don’t mind the geofencing honestly. I’ve only ran into one issue with it and that was with a DJI mini 4 pro (maybe the mini 2 I forget). We were in Iowa and near the airport and I had LAANC clearance already so I lifted up and took off. 300 feet away I guess I entered a geofenced area and the drone stopped all on its own. It was kinda funny because I didn’t know what was going on. I had flown in the same spot a year prior and had no problems so when the message came on about restricted something or other I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to even get the drone back. Anyway, I look up the areas I’m gonna fly before I go so if it shows any controlled air space I know now to possibly expect a geofence or some limitations. Anyway, thanks for watching and commenting. Budget drones don't have visual-tracking because you need a really good camera and a large amount of programming to make it work. What budget drones do have is follow-me. Which, when programmed correctly, is often far more user-friendly in real life and you get better footage. Unfortunately the problem with you drone reviewers is you have no idea how follow-me can and should work. As a result they believe visual-tracking is better. It's not. Now I'm not saying drones shouldn't have visual-tracking. It's a great feature to get certain shots. But it is not a replacement for follow-me. Why we can see in your test. The Atom can only track from behind. I don't know about you but I don't have eyes in the back of my head and turning my head like Regan in the Exorcist really hurts. with follow-me ( when programmed correctly) you can put the drone anywhere you want such as in front or next to you. And you also can get more of the landscape and horizon in view. I won't even mention all the times the drone loses you with visual tracking. If you want to cover any distance on your bike trip the feature becomes so annoying you will never use it again. Ask people cycling around the world if you don't believe me. It's a real shame the complete drone industry forgot how to implement follow-me. Much older drones could follow the controller or phone very accurate and responsive. Funny enough follow-me can still be found on the DJI Inspire. Not exactly a hiker/biker model!

@@WeretheRoberts If you ever see a Fimi A3 cheap with a good battery, or a LYZRC L109 Pro for couple tenners, then please buy it!! Don't look at the video quality. Fimi A3 is good 1080P. But L109 Pro has a shaky gimbal and fish-eye. But it will show you how great GPS follow-me can and should work. It's so damn sad today's drones are all programmed wrong. As a result everybody now believes GPS follow-me sucks. If programmed correctly it doesn't.

lol. Well there’s a great invention they’ve started putting in vehicles called a windshield. It’s a piece of glass that protects the occupants from the outside elements when they’re traveling in a vehicle. What’s cool is the glass is transparent and you can actually see through it.
