I would not buy this drone for couple of reasons. 1) Although, the picture quality is not bad, but it is too shaky and 2) It uses fish-eye lens which makes the horizon concave when camera pointing downward and convex when camera pointing upward. I never like fish-eye lens to begin with, that is why I will never buy a Go-Pro camera. I don't understand why people love Go-Pro so much when we all know it makes the natural unnatural when recording videos. Any drone that has a fish-eye lens camera is a buyer killer imho.

DJI Mini 4K and Potensic Mini 4K dropped to ~230€ in the Prime Day, so, yeah, there's no way any other brand can compete with them, they're light years ahead of any other Mini for that price.

No gimbal? Never mind. I will stick to my inexpensive KF101 MAX-S, which reached 11.5 km on my first range test based on its telemetry. I uploaded it as my first video on my channel.

I’m hoping they address it in the future like they said. Until they do I don’t see this being a threat to even Holy stone. lol. I’ve not heard of the KF101 Max-s. The picture quality seemed ok honestly but the lack of stability is a deal breaker. I hope they address it like they said because Ruko seems like a great company with really decent products. I couldn’t have said it better, man. I have to say this drone was really cool to fly and the stability was great. Its maneuverability and signal were really good and it was very responsive. If they had a real camera on here it could definitely be something that could turn heads but they missed the mark big time. Such an easy fix, too.

lol you’re absolutely 100% right, man! I was pretty disappointed in this camera even though the drone was a lot of fun to fly. It was really stable and the signal was great but the camera could be a deal breaker for most people. They could easily fix that, eh?

its a marketing 💵pattern thing to do now a days.... They all do that! Next version will definitely have its gimbal🫣😁 👍. Its indeed a pretty stable drone. I flew 8years ago the SJRC F11 drone a lot. Always stable and reliable connection. But one day I forgot to do the 'Compas calibration' 🫣 and the Big Bird took off like crazy in a fly away and landed at sea in Cabo Verde island..😆🫣. Regarding this drone, the camera is definitely its weak point and really needs to be addressed for future models. I was pretty disappointed when I learned there was no stabilization on it and really wasn’t expecting that. Your opinion is spot on with my opinion, also. lol. I think if Ruko addressed the camera issue here they’d have a really good drone for sure. It flew great and was stable and those are the hardest things to dial in I would think. The camera is a simple fix.

I would at least expect some sort of digital stabilization on the screen but nope...

Awesome and thanks so much for watching. My understanding is there’s no max distance limits on the precision landing with the Mini 4 pro but you have to raise up to 7 meters before flying off horizontally to activate it. Normally the Mini 4 pro is really accurate with the landing but sometimes it’s off. lol. I guess nothing is perfect. Haha

I absolutely agree, buddy. Ruko should have seriously known better than to use a camera like this. The drone itself was amazing and was really cool to fly, but as soon as I looked at that feed I was disappointed. DJI Mini 4k is a better option at this point no questions asked

lol well said, buddy. I think the Mini 4k is the best comparison with this one and there’s really no contest. The drone did fly great and Ruko did a good job with the stability and signal, but that camera set up is horrendous. I hope they fix it like they said in future models and maybe then they can be proud of their drone. Until the , DJI is safe. lol.

Kristi knew what part of the video I was at when I was editing it because every time I came to that part I’d laugh. Oh and the pointing. Hahaha. Regarding the backpack, it’s simply awesome so far. It should last but it seems like the sling style is made a little better with better stitching and zippers. It’s just not big enough. lol

I was really expecting some sort of stabilization but when I flew it the first time and saw that footage I was disappointed. If they fix that, they’ll have a winner though. Maybe not blowing DJi out of the water, but it would be a really good starter drone like you said. But not with this camera. Haha. Ruko does have good products for sure but they dropped the ball on one tiny but huge detail, eh?

lol yea they have a sale going on at the moment in the US so it’s not such a bad price but with the camera they have on it with no stabilizing features, I’d say the DJI Mini 4k would be a better option for sure. The Mini 3 refurbished would be a great option too like you say. I forget. Does that have the obstacle avoidance like the 3 pro?

lol the more comments I read the more irritated I get that they put such a crappy camera on this drone. Honestly the drone flew great and was as stable as could be. The signal was solid, it’s a good looking drone with a lot of weight to spare before going over 250 grams. They could have done a lot better on the camera and this drone would be awesome. Motion sickness. Haha. Kristi had to look away from the computer when she watched it. That’s hilarious.

Geez 60-90 sec to connect thats a good amount if time. I am watching video and I commenting and that video has to very shaky but we will see your not to that point in the video. Ok yeah that video is shaky just sitting there. Lol Need to start calling Roku “ Roberts” lol. Not sure of price point but maybe a good starter drone . If I was to get a starter drone for someone I would get the Mini 4k. Good review!

lol 60-90 seconds seems like an eternity when you’re sitting there waiting being bit by bugs the whole time. Hahaha You’re right about that camera. That’s the only complaint I have about this drone and it’s really a shame. Hopefully they get that addressed in further models. The Mini 4k is absolutely a better option for someone starting out right now for sure. I started out with a really bad drone at first and it made me almost not continue because it wasn’t dependable. Then I stumbled onto the Mini 2 and realized what drones were supposed to be like and I was hooked. lol. Great observations, brother. God bless and thanks for watching again.

It certainly needs a gimbal. It’s not really any good for shooting video at the moment is it? In fact I bet even taking photos would be tricky. I think if they could add a gimbal with image stabilization.. plus collision avoidance 🫣😂 then DJI would possibly have something to worry about 👍😀

I really need to teach you drone reviewers how to properly test the follow-me. And I tried to look up what this drone actually is. One thing it isn't, a Ruko. Ruko doesn't make drones. They only make higher prices. You can just as well call a hairdresser in Tanzania if you want a gimbal because he doesn't make drones either. But for this price it should have had EIS. Shame, as the camera in itself is pretty good. EIS instead of a gimbal makes sense for a pocket drone. Then again with this large and slow to connect controller it isn't a pocket 'point and shoot' drone anyway. You're not going to wait minutes to take a 'quick' photo on the trail. So basically this drone is useless. The video is too shaky, and for photos it takes too long to launch. My L200 Pro Max for half the price is a much better option. Or some $50 optical flow drone if the photos to your phone are any good to instantly share on social media. Manufacturers and reviewers should be forced to go on bike trips to see how user friendly a drone actually is in real life. Doesn't matter if it is a $30 model or $3000. If it doesn't do the job it doesn't matter how fantastic the video quality is. If you can't fly you won's have any footage at all. I also think that taking a photo is a forgotten aspect. A cheap $70 drone good be really handy if they concentrated on what it can do, instead of trying to give it kilometers range and blown up resolution. Nobody watches 4k 60 fps on KZbin. And if Ruko were a true company developing true products, they would offer drones the consumer wants. Unfortunately like Amazon they just sell copies and name it the Plookimookitralala drone or whatever so we can't compare the price with the original.

I do have to say the drone flew great and the signal and stability were really good. You make a great point too about the slow connection speed. Waiting a minute to get it airborne can make you miss your shot for sure.

@@WeretheRoberts Well either you have a long range drone for the best landscape shots that takes an hour to setup, or you have something simple you can launch within seconds for a selfie. There is no point in flying kilometers if the video isn't stabilized. So this drone would actually be better with a small WiFi controller. What reviewer also never test is how good the optical flow works. So you don't have to calibrate compass and wait for satellites. The reason why I got into drones is so that I don't have to get off my bike every time putting a camera somewhere.

19:10 Hi Kevin, A suggestion concerning the necessitation (hehe :) ) of having to peal off the mobile 'phone's case to enable the plug to connect. Have you considered trimming the case's socket entry hole to allow the plug free access to the socket? i.e. trim the case to make the whole lerger?

NOT the actual mobile's plastic case. 1910 sounded like a good year to check out. But I continued to the end. Regarding the longevity of your elastic band stretchiness videos, I love it!!. Killer? No its a nice cheaper option, that camera is the best camera I have seen on the toy drones but its not even close to a DJI drone. When you have a DJI mini 3 or 4 its like you have a camera on a pole that you can move wherever you want. Its that stable. Its more like looking through a window than a camera the camera is that good. These are apparently the best of the toy drones but they are no DJI.

Hello, Roberts! I was just watching this video. By coincidence, I stumbled upon this difference in my Mini 2 last night. I always am having to recalibrate. But the drone is often with reason for regular RTH. I had a thought to try exactly what you did almost. Except I took off hovered got home point, elevated to 20 ft and paused and my RTH was much more accurate. I didn't have to adjust it at all. So maybe there's something to it now I have seen this video. Keep on going enjoy your content.

The other day though was the complete opposite. Our mini 2 was 15 feet off of her landing spot twice in a row! Wait till Sundays video and it may happen again!! lol. Very shaky video. No image stabilization. Can you tilt the camera remotely, or do you have to tilt it before taking off? Yup, it's a toy. But nice test anyway. BTW, I'm loving my sling pack. lol yea man that video wasn’t the greatest by any means. Other than the no gimbal or stabilization the drone was fun to fly. Ruko needs to really address that and they’d have a free drone here. You can adjust the camera in flight but it doesn’t move like we’re used to. It’s really jerky. lol I’m glad you’re enjoying the bag, man. Those things are awesome! I’m still impressed with the backpack and haven’t even considered taking Dwight out of it.

lol I would agree, Bob. I’d say the drone was definitely fun to fly and it did a really good job with signal strength, stability and maneuverability, but that camera does it no favors at all. Thanks for watching as always, buddy! God bless

After I record videos with the mini 4 pro , I put the s.d card in the tablet, but a message pops up " not a supported file " can someone please help me fix the issue ? Thanks

Wow that sucks! I don’t have a tablet or iPad so I’ve not seen that exact message come across before. I have seen something similar when I put the card into my computer though. It’s never caused a problem with the files for me. The first time it happened I saw the message and was trying to understand what I was reading but by the time I understood it, the message went away and the files loaded like normal. Have you tried putting the disk into a computer rather than a tablet by any chance? Maybe it’s something inside the tablet rather than the card itself?

The Ruko can't compete with the DJI Mini 4K, which was recently available on Amazon Primeday for $239. I like your shirt but I doubt a certain lady from NY will like it too.😃

lol I’d say you’re 100% right here, brother. This drone was slot of fun to fly and it handled really well but that camera needs addressed badly. The Mini 4K would be way more worth the price. I think I’ll wear my shirt when I visit NY on our camping trip. Hahaha.

I would agree totally. I’ve not flown any of the potensic drones but the reviews are almost all positive from what I’ve seen. I’d say this drone was really good as well but that camera is the nail in the coffin for now. If they get that sorted out it would be a good drone for sure. It flew great and the signal and stability are definitely there. Just 1 flaw in my opinion. But it’s a biggie. Lol
