Ah! Now I get it! I was wondering why I was seeing multiple comments about "moving the goal posts" in the messages. Well, it turns out that instead of accepting my invitation to discuss these issues live on my channel, David chose to release a pre-recorded video response. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but it seems he may have mentioned something about me "moving the goal posts" in my argument. I'll have to check out his video when I get a minute. In the meantime, and I mean this in all sincerity, if someone can give me an example of a goal post that I moved in my argument, I'm all ears. My goal is to seek the truth, not win arguments. And I'm far from perfect! So if I have changed a rule or criterion of a process mid-argument, I'd welcome the chance correct myself publicly. Rob

I reached out to david and asked "why you two didn't just talk rather than making videos". And He said "We have talked about doing another debate or live discussion. I cannot right now due my schedule but I would be up for doing it in the future". I hope you would think thats reasonable.

You're both partially right and more importantly partially wrong. You mention the things Paul said not to do or rather things that people who will not be in the kingdom of heaven do. Every one of those mentioned in Galatians are Mosaic laws. Jesus said in Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. The law has commands and judgments. We are not to execute the judgments of the law, that is Jesus' job which will be accomplished at the great white throne judgment. Judge no lest ye be judged. Much of the Mosaic law is not possible to be performed, espcially as it relates to judgments, ritual cleansing and sacrifices. What we are left with are the parts of the law that have to do with spiritual purity and God's moral law. Jesus said in John 3:17-21 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. John continued to show what the transformation of the true believer in Christ looks like in 1 John 3:1-10 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. Why have another debate on H roots v. law of love? We've seen these back-and-forth tired arguments from both of these extremes and both of these arguments take out of context what the Bible actually says while also getting part of it right. Do they teach Hegelian dialectics in seminary? Must have been sponsored by Rockefeller Foundation or freemason religion funders, the Pew family (founders of Christianity Today). You can call me, Rob, or email me sojourner at disciples dot com.

Hi Rob. A few points on this video. 1) At around 16 min, you talk about "old covenant rituals" that are not for Christians today. So adultery is ok today. 2) Around 17:30, Paul and the apostles kept the law and followed Jesus, did their attention also shift Jesus to Moses. 3) Do you keep the kosher laws of Moses repeated in Acts 15v20?

The Hebrew roots movement is a cult. They take scripture out of context and manipulate people with fear. People in the movement say they find peace in it because they’ve given in to the fear being forced on them and when they comply they don’t fear any longer and then think they’ve found peace. All cults do this. And they also love bomb new members and gaslight the heck out of them when they bring up any questions about inconsistencies of their teachings. It’s such a dangerous “gospel” - a quagmire - for those who have gotten caught in it. These teachers are the wolves that Jesus warned about.

Because that's what is prophesied for the millennial kingdom as shown in Isaiah 2 $ 56. If the tabernacle/temple is there it reinstates sacrifices per the law. But there would only be burnt sacrifices since by that point we're not sinning. Sacrifices stop with the new heaven and new earth which is after the millennial kingdom.

@@adamguy33 first off, the BBQ for Christ... Hilarious! And I'm taking that for the high holy days. Next for you to have a barbecue you have to sacrifice an animal. Next point, when you say you're repenting from sin, what do you think you're repenting from? You're repenting from transgressing the law, (before your retort, sin is biblically defined as transgressing the law). I bet you forgot that Jesus replaced sin sacrifice, there are still burnt, gift, and peace offerings that God says will continue do and have the world bring before God (see Isaiah 54) or be slaughtered by the Messiah. Every time the temple is destroyed we are kept by grace, this is talked about in Ezekiel. The only slap in the face of the Messiah is deliberately sinning or blasphemy against the holy Ghost as described in Hebrews. Why would the devil ask you to do what God commanded. [7] Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. [8] He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge and don't even consider. As Paul said you don't even know what you're doing wrong without the law.

@@dmoffitt1914 the moral law and ceremonial laws are different. Animals will never be sacrificed for sin because JESUS sacrafice was once and for all. People are given a conscience from God so they know what is right and wrong . murder was wrong before the law was given. You can not make yourself rightous otherwise JESUS died in vain. We are uunder the law of Christ now and not the law of Moses. There is a NEW covenant and the old has been dont away with. Those who accept the gospel 1st corinthians 15 1-4 john 3:16 are under grace if there is a temple or not, for we are the temple of God now and worship in spirit and truth. We are made rightous in Christ , for the just shell live by faith. In the Millennium those animals will be sacrificed for a rememberance of what Christ did for us as communion is a rememberance of the new covenant establishment that JESUS instituted . i follow the law of Christ and therefore i keep the moral law.

The antichrist will start up sacrifices and then at the mid point of the 70th week the antichrist will stop the sacrifices and then sit in the temple and claim to be god. These are abominations obviously. But after the tribulation, at the end of the 70th week, Jesus returns to gather his elect at the rapture and destroy his enemies that have gathered around Jerusalem to fight it. After this, the millennium begins with Christ on the throne ruling from Jerusalem. Old testament prophecies show that sacrifices will resume during this time, but it will likely be to point back to Christ's sacrifice as a reminder that His sacrifice alone is perfect. The jews who repent at Christ's return will likely not receive new bodies but instead will enter the Millennium in their original bodies in order to be fruitful and multiply in the earth. This is probably why Isaiah speaks of the days of his people being like a tree. They will live long lives because satan will be bound during this time, yet there will still be death (death won't be thrown in the lake of fire until after the second resurrection)

This time is difficult, but it is a very important part of your faith walk. The Bible says: “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” ‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭2‬-‭5‬ Blessings, Rob

Your faith alone "concept" is wrong and is not consistent with the Scripture. The Bible tells us that we are saved by faith in Jesus Christ and not of works that anyone should boast. However, the Scriptures give a descriptive view as to the manifestation of that faith: in Hebrews 11 Paul explains what is faith. He also did so in Romans 4:19-22 and 10:13-18. James' statement about faith and works supports what Paul is saying: Belief: We accept something to be true or factual. Faith: We are driven to actualize that truth. Abraham knew Sarah had passed childbearing age. This is coupled with the fact that she was barren. In spite of this, Abraham and Sarah came together to have Issac. Faith in God's Word forced them to have Issac despite their circumstances. The Gospel not only tells of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, but it tells, in the form of a directive, how to gain salvation. In a couple of examples, after hearing the Gospel, the New believers usually asked what must they do.

To be under the law is to not measure up, it is to be outside of the law. To be in Christ is to fulfill God's teachings and to live out all things that pertain to life and Godliness. What we call the law is just God's teachings on how his children can live a life of Godliness. It is love for God, His family, and His possessions. The problem, is when people try to use the law to disguise themselves outwardly as godly people without being God's children. Or try to use the law as a check list for acquiring or retaining a status as a child of God rather than by accept God's offer and His faithfulness.

As Christians, we are under the Law of The Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. That is not the big 10. David's problem is he is not being led by The Holy Spirit, rather he is being led by his intellect. Until he repents (has a change of mind) from believing the intellect is the voice of God, he will remain in his unbelieving state. "Trying to keep the Old Covenant Law, and follow Jesus at the same time does lead to a double minded pursuit of God. It shifts our attention away from Jesus and toward Moses." I would argue, it shifts our attention away from Jesus and toward the self...self-righteousness...something one has to earn. Self-righteousness, it has been said, is the mother of all sins.

Very informative video. I just finished reading a position paper from the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues (IAMCS) Steering Committee entitled "One Law, Two Sticks: A Critical Look at the Hebrew Roots Movement" It is a very fascinating read that breaks down the history of the Hebrew roots movement in which has its genesis with the Millerites of the 1840s. Here is some brief excerpts. Hebrew Roots teaching suggests that the only hope for the Gentile believer is to get out of the church, and start keeping the Sabbath, the Levitical feasts, and eating kosher along with other Sabbaterean Hebrew Roots “believers.” This kind of legalistic message is necessarily connected to a mistaken belief about the identity of Israel. It presumes that the Jews are either not descendants of Israel at all, or that Jews are a people who constitute just one tribe among Israel. In either case, therefore, the only way we can know if a person is Israel or not, is if they are keeping the Torah. Hence, by keeping the law, a person proves that they are Israel. This is the Hebrew Roots premise. The next line in the paper really it home "From the Hebrew Roots perspective, God is presented not as a loving and forgiving God who gave His only Son to die for the sins of all people. But rather, an intolerant God, who rejects all Gentile cultures, and only loves His own Hebraic culture. As if there is no way that a person can be in good standing with God as a Gentile. As if a Gentile must become culturally Jewish in order to come into the fullness of a healthy relationship with God. The Hebrew Roots message to the Gentiles is that the reason Messiah died on the tree was not to deliver the Gentile from sin, but to deliver the Gentile from being a Gentile. As if being a Gentile would somehow be unacceptable to God. The gospel message therefore, for the Hebrew Roots enthusiast, is that God has sent His son into the world in order to conform people to the image of a Jew. After all, Yeshua is Jewish, so all people must be like Him - not just in character, but in culture. He won’t have it any other way, or so they say in Hebrew Roots. In our view, this is entirely wrong. It is the very antithesis of the gospel. "

What I find interesting is that NONE of the Torah-requirement people I have ever met are farmers! None! When we read the commands concerning farming, no farmer these days could survive financially but following the commands for the ancient farmers of Israel because the promises made to ancient Israel were coupled with promises for prospering them for their obedience...promises that are nowhere evidenced as applying to Gentiles nor the surrounding nations around ancient Israel. Our family farm would never have survived the decades of our farming had we followed the ancient Mosaic Law! Those promises are not for us today, which also means the commands are not for us today! We are called to be a peculiar people not on the basis of the Mosaic Law, but on the basis of our identity with Christ Jesus.

Torahists can never answer how it is that Paul said he was both "not myself under the law" IC9.20 while at the same time stating "not being without the law of God in the law of Christ" 1C9.21. The "law of faithing" R3.27 was not out of Moses G3.11-12. The "law of the FLESHY-inner aim" H7.14 wars against "the law of the SPIRIT" R8.2. But whenever you make these points, they always nullify Paul's epistles as well as the book of Hebrews. Then you point out how Peter endorsed Paul's "wisdom" 2P3.15, but they change the subject. I mean, do they just negate ALL of the "new covenant" prophets? It seems so confirming 2 Timothy 4.3 😥

No biblical support for sunday worship Acts 20:7 Verse: "On the first day of the week, we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight." 1. Timing: According to Jewish reckoning, a day begins at sunset. Thus, the "first day of the week" (Sunday) would begin at sunset on what we consider Saturday night. The gathering in Acts 20:7 occurred on Saturday night, a continuation of the Sabbath worship that day. 2. Breaking Bread: The phrase "to break bread" can refer to a regular meal. In Acts 2:42, it is noted that the early Christians "devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer," suggesting that breaking bread was a daily practice, not confined to a specific day of the week, and not exclusive to a sacred day of worship. 3. Context: This verse describes a specific event where Paul and the disciples gathered on the first day of the week to break bread and Paul preached. The context shows this as a narrative description of a one-time event rather than an establishment of a regular practice or commandment, undermining or replacing the Sabbath worship found in the Decalogue. 4. First Day of the Week: While it mentions the first day of the week (Sunday), the emphasis seems more on Paul's departure and his long sermon rather than instituting a new worship practice. The meeting may have been more practical due to Paul’s travel plans rather than a doctrinal statement about worship. In fact, Paul traveled the next morning (sunday), further proving that Sunday is an ordinary day. 1 Corinthians 16:2 Verse: "On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made." 1. Context: Paul is instructing the Corinthians to set aside money for the collection for the saints (no indication as tithe). This practice of setting aside money on the first day of the week was more about logistical convenience for collecting funds rather than establishing a worship day. 2. Private Action: The instruction is for individuals to set aside money privately ("each one of you"), not necessarily implying a communal gathering for worship, but rather a common earning or working day. It is an organizational matter, ensuring the fund is ready when Paul arrives. 3. No Mention of Worship: The verse does not mention worship, prayer, breaking bread, or any other elements typically associated with a worship service. It focuses solely on preparing a financial collection. Summary Acts 20:7 describes a gathering on what would be Saturday night, and breaking bread was a daily practice for early Christians (Acts 2:42), not confined to a specific day. Both Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:2 describe practices occurring on the first day of the week but do not explicitly prescribe Sunday as a day of worship. Acts 20:7 is a narrative of a particular event, while 1 Corinthians 16:2 is an instruction for financial preparation. Neither verse directly commands or establishes Sunday as the new Sabbath or a regular day for Christian worship services.

There is a lot to say about this topic and I find that even those who say that we are no longer under the law but under grace don't understand. Romans 8 says the law of the Spirit of the life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. These verses is the key to the whole debate because it is no more about keeping any laws or rules but about a life. It is when we come in a life with Christ that the requirements of the law will be fulfilled in us. It is no longer about the outward but the inward where only you and God sees. This is why Paul speaks of the fruit. We must come in to a life where we are led by the Spirit. ‭‭Romans‬ ‭2:28‭-‬29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ [28] For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; [29] but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.

Exactly and "the law of faithing" R3.27-28 was not out of Moses G3.12. The ten commandments were established on the basis of a covenant Ex34.28 which came AFTER four hundred thirty years" when YHWH made a covenant with Abraham piror, on account of his FAITH Gn15.18; Gal3.17). The covenant of law in stony tablets was on account of their failing to faith! So simply, it's a matter of two covenants which the seed of promise through Abraham being Christ, was fulfilled when Christ came according to the flesh then awakened in SPIRIT making the "preceding covenant" near it's disappearance H8.7,13. But when you try to explain all this to Torahists, they nullify Paul's writings AND the book of Hebrews for that matter, which Hebrews doesn't even bear the name of its author and for good reason, because there will come a day, when they will be shamed and then seek the wisdom in that epistle as "reading ones" M24.15.

Brother Solberg, something dawned on me today. My understanding is that all the Torah sacrifices were for unintentional sin. Therefore "what the law was powerlessness to do" was to address intentional sin. Yeshua's sacrifice covers all sin. Hallelujah! The law being a totor makes more sense to me in this context. The amazing good news is that we all stand guilty of intentional sin and have "uncircumcised hearts." Yes, the amazing good news is in the new covenant , that we are new creations, forgiven , cleansed, and under the blood of the perfect, unblemished Yeshua. Your thoughts?

Romans 7:6-7 He teaches that NOW, the righteousness of God is manifested without the law, the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ UNTO ALL THAT BELIEVE. Jesus, Peter, James, John, Hebrews, Revelation... were not talking to the Body of Christ Church. They were talking to Israel. Jesus sent Paul to talk to us. @bugsocsollie1694 Israel is the church, you see Paul's letters phrases like "Our fathers who passed through the sea" in 1 Corinthians, saints who made a covenant at the Mount" in 2nd Corinthians. "Redeem then Uber the curse..." in Galatians,"the blessing, promises and covenants pertaining to Israel", in Romans Now to your Romans the point Paul is talking about sacrifice vs grace and we can tell because he makes sure to clarify at the end of the paragraph you posted ‭Romans‬ ‭3:31‬ [31] Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law. You answered my question about "another messages" which I originally missed and that is the part you are going to have to convince/justify since as Peter said ‭II Peter‬ ‭1:19‭-‬20‬ [19] And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; [20] knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, And as Paul said ‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:4‭-‬6‬ ‭NKJV‬ [4] There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; [5] one Lord, one faith, one baptism; [6] one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. By implication you're saying there is a different faith, and thus a different god, I understand you may say, "No a different people", but then that further would point that then those who are reading are not under the new covenant, which would be texturally correct but for another argument.

In regards to issue #1: The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) was never for taking away the sins of Israel. The function of Yom Kippur is to cleanse the Sanctuary from the sins of the people (Lev. 16:20). Why? Because the sins of Israel is what drives away the presence of the God. Sin and death are not to be in the presence of God. In Jacob Milgrom's book on Leviticus, he does a good job of explaining how the functions of some of these offerings that dealt with sin. Their main function is to cleanse the Sanctuary of sin in order to keep the presence of God amongst the people. And you brought up a good point, why then do we need Jesus? Numbers 15:30, God says that those who commit willful sin, rebellious sin, they are cut-off from the people, essentially dead. What type of sin did Adam and Eve do? Rebellious sin. Their sin is what brought death into the world, and according to the Torah, that sin has no offering that can atone for that. That's what Hebrews is talking about when it says that year after year the High Priest does the atonement for the people on Yom Kippur, but they still die. And that's where Jesus comes in. In order for us to have Salvation, i.e., eternal life, Jesus paid the price for humanity's sin. Now God can restore the original plan he had in Genesis, to dwell among us like he did with Adam in the Garden. And we see that in Revelation 22, where many understand is a restoration of Eden. If you don't have a good understanding of the Temple, why God wanted in the first place, and what is the function of it, you're going to lose a lot of key information and understanding the Bible.

Hello, Sir.... I'm not a Christian (Im an Advaita Vedantin, nondual Hindu), but even though my capacity to believe in Jesus being the Savior of humanity is precisely zero %, it is information such as presented in this video that further ices that cake of my disbelief. Even though I find you very sincere, thoughtful and intelligent, the very fact that the Bible can be interpreted SO EASILY in SO MANY DIFFERING WAYS with actual verses to back-up many of the divergent views and claims, is enough to drive one crazy, if pursued earnestly. Again, I'm not a believer, but do enjoy comparative religions. It would literally be IMPOSSIBLE for me personally to ever "believe in Christ" because of a wholly incompatable worldview/take on reality and the meaning/purpose of existence itself. So, if your religion/God were true, then I was created to go to hell. I do not have the ability to believe/trust in the Jesus character (nor Yaweh). In addition to my vastly different view of reality, my further inability to believe is due to innumerable verses of the Bible that are full of supposed facts that would force a believer to suspend reality/common sense in order to believe, along with great atrocities such as chattel slavery sanctioned by Yaweh, and the needlessness of Yaweh becoming man in order to sacrifIce himself to himself (for merely a long weekend; no permanent sacrifice) so he could finally tolerate his creation again once and for all, but... ONLY if we confess belief in Jesus based upon an incongruent, wildly erratic collection of books (the Bible) (even containing known forgeries!), which can be easily interpreted in a myriad of dramatically varying ways. Ugh! The Bible is a mess. Why would a loving God leave us with such a literary nightmare of inconsistencies that could sincerely be interpreted SO MANY VARYING WAYS??? My very sincere, well researched objections against the validity of Christianity presented here are merely the tip of the reasonable doubt iceberg.

I hear what you're saying. But if you think your Prasthanatrayi are any more articulate or concrete, I would respectfully suggest your bias is showing! P.S. My religion doesn't teach that you were created to go to hell. It teaches you were created in God image (Gen. 1:27), and you have sinned (Rom. 3:23), and God loved you so much that He sent His son to save you from your sin (John 3:16). @TheBiblicalRoots yes! You are ABSOLUTELY correct! And, that is the beauty of a living breathing philosophy -vs- a religion. The many Upanishads are often at odds with each other, the Bhagavad Gita is not 100% internally consistent and the Bhama Sutras (the 3rd Advaita Vedantin source) is a complicated read sure to give its reader a headache. But.... the beauty of Advaita Vedanta is that all "sources" are merely pointers to the truth and do not need to be 100% true or historically accurate themselves. For example, I do not believe Krishna, Shiva, etc, to be actual historical figures, but literary pointers to a deeper truth(s) of reality (nondualism). Some Hindus read the same texts and find themselves believing in alternate views to that of Advaita Vedanta's, such as the Hare Krishnas who VERY MUCH believe Krishna was a historical figure. That doesn't bother me nor affect my philosophy in any way, shape, or form. Proving each text/championing my take on vedanta means nothing to me. The Vedantic texts are merely street signs on the highway to self-discovery. In fact, my favorite and personally most inspiring text to read is a much later text called the Ashtavakra Gita. Christianity, however, is typically NOT to be interpreted as metaphorical or as merely pointing to a deeper meaning.... in Christianity, Yaweh/Jesus MUST be precisely who/as the Bible reports.... the gospels MUST be, for the most part, truly accurate. The death/resurrection of Jesus MUST be historical fact (and not allegory for one making changes in their heart, for example). Therefore, people, various denominations, etc, argue and disagree because the Bible is NOT infallible (which is blatently obvious to any open-minded thinker outside the faith) and is up for infinite interpretations. No two people would ever read the Bible cover to cover and step away with the exact same interpretation. This need for the Bible to be "true" causes great insecurity in many Christians, to the point they will suspend reason and common sense in order to maintain their faith. Some great thinkers, such as Meister Eckhart, for example, were able to read Christianity in a more mystical sense and not quite as literally. Same as the poet Rumi was able to do with his Islamic faith. Ok, I'm rambling. Good luck to you and your journey, and I wish you the best. I hope you and your youtube followers will always keep your minds and hearts open to where truth and reality lead, not just where you need it to lead in order to maintain a comfortable faith. Reality is beautiful. Mystery/the unknown is also ok and very exciting and beautiful. Hari Om.

@@monkkeygawd Exactly! That's the same reason I don't like religion. Following Jesus means being in a relationship with the Living God. It's not about trying to please some distant deity through rituals and performance, it's about seeking the heart and guidance of our perfect, loving Father. And the more I dig into the Scriptures, the more profound they become to me. They are packed full of metaphorical meaning, archetypes, and ancient wisdom. Not nearly as black-and-white as many fundamentalists would have you believe. At the same time, unlike Advaita Vedanta, Christianity is firmly grounded in the reality of human history. For me, the fact that Christianity is falsifiable gives it incredible weight and significance. As spiritual as life, love and beauty are, we humans are _also_ physical beings who live in a physical, concrete world. I find belief systems that are detached from that aspect of reality inadequate and wanting. On top of that, I find the idea that all things are an emanation of Brahman untenable because it ultimately denies all distinction between good and evil, holy and profane, special and common, creator and created, wise and foolish. And it further robs suffering of all meaning. None of these things accord with the reality you and I live in. Okay, I'll stop rambling now! Forgive me. Bless you on your journey, my friend. May it ultimately bring you to the Truth. Rob

@TheBiblicalRoots yes, and I am drawn to Advaita Vedanta for all the reasons you felt repelled. lol funny how that works. All humans are different. According to Advaita, the Universe is simply Brahman unfolding a dream; no such thing as concrete matter/physical reality. No such thing as individual souls. No free will. No good. No evil. No redemption. No punishment. Simply the beauty of being. "We" are all God wearing masks playing out a collective dream. So, we are literally the divine and eternal because ONLY Consciousness/God exists. Fun stuff 😉 Thank you for engaging and sharing, I sincerely appreciate you.

Acts chapter 15 the Apostle's and Elders made the decision for the Church that the gentiles did not have to follow the Law or circumcision. They made a decree and sent it out to the Churches to follow. Peter even called the Law a yoke that did not belong on them . He also said they nor their fathers were able to bear it . Read v24 tells it plain that the Apostle's gave no commandment to be circumcised or keep the law. In Gal 5:1 Paul states for them not to be entangled with the yoke of bondage, the Law ! So over and over they said not to follow circumcision or the law. Period ! Read Gal 4:21-31 WE ARE NOT CHILDREN OF THE BONDWOMAN, but of the FREE ! Complete separation of the two covenants. HEB 8:6-13 is more proof. Rom 6:14 ye are NOT under the Law ! Rom 7:6. 8 v2 I noticed he jumped to other scripture he likes to point out whenever he doesn't want to answer on a scripture he doesn't like. These law idiots always do that. They are that deceived ! They are teaching contrary to the Grace of Christ. If Grace is not enough, Paul says Christ died in vain. Sin would still have dominion over us . These people are playing the same game the Jews did to the gentiles in Acts 15 and in Galatians. Don't listen to these law keeping devil's that want to put others in their bondage they are in. These deceived law keepers don't follow the Law themselves they say they believe so much in. Here is proof : make them show you proof of them following Deut 26:12-13. Make them bring proof where they followed this command of the law and the fatherless and the widow got their share of the tithe ? These so called law or Torah keepers are nothing but fake and flakey. Gal 5:13 describes them devil's. Nothing but proud hypocrites that don't even follow the Law themselves ! But we all need to pray for them that God straightens their dizzy minds before they miss out on Heaven.

It has always been about faith. If Israel had faith at Sinai and obeyed the commandments they would have received the blessings. As it turned out they did not have faith and suffered the consequences. Faith is BELIEVING God and TRUSTING him. Also we are to love the Lord with all that's within us. If we don't keep his commandments we are saying by our actions that we don't believe him, trust him, or love him. Just my take.

When my children disobeyed me (did their will instead of mine) they were punished in some way. I took no pleasure in punishing them. So when Jesus said God took no pleasure in sacrifices etc. He was in effect saying I would rather have had you to do my will (follow my commandments). I agree with you that Jesus did away with the sin offerings by becoming the ultimate and final sin offering. If you've had any children you probably had rules for them to follow (your will). If they didn't follow them there were probably consequences. Jesus removed the consequences but still wants us to do his will. As for the Sabbath, I liken it to a child taking a nap. They often don't want to do it, but it's good for them and you. Many things in the Bible have a spiritual and a physical connection. Flesh and spirit, heaven and earth etc. The same is true with Sabbath. The spiritual side you've already covered. The physical side was rest for your body. We do our job then we rest. We don't want to burn ourselves out, we don't want to get cranky etc. Also people like to say everyday is a Sabbath. Spiritually true, physically not so much. If we did that we would be hungry, homeless and no telling what else. I'm not trying to be confrontational, just sharing my point of view. Looking forward to your reply.

"The children of the bondwoman" are those who reject the Law of Moses and put it away from themselves, choosing instead to invent a righteousness of their own making through teaching that one can violate the Law of Moses and it doesn't matter because "Jesus did it for you". Instead of obeying the royal Law/Law of liberty/Law of Moses, they choose to make up their own laws and community rules ("works of law") and place people in bondage to them. As Paul says, it's not the hearers of the Law who are righteous but the doers of the Law who will be justified before God (Romans 2:13), and again, the one who does them shall love in them (Galatians 3:12).

this is a law of God - Acts 15:23 with the following letter: “The brothers, both the apostles and the elders, to the brothers[c] who are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greetings. 24 Since we have heard that some persons have gone out from us and troubled you[d] with words, unsettling your minds, although we gave them no instructions, 25 it has seemed good to us, having come to one accord, to choose men and send them to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who themselves will tell you the same things by word of mouth. 28 For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements: 29 that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Hello, Highlander! The "laws" of God that define right and wrong were true long before the Law of Moses was given. So when God commands us not to murder today, it’s not because of the Ten Commandments. It’s because of His universal principle against murder. Long before God gave Israel the Law of Moses, Cain was judged for murdering his brother Abel (Gen 4:8-16). Same thing with adultery. Unfaithfulness and sexual immorality were wrong long before the Law of Moses, as we see, for example, in the story of Joseph fleeing Potiphar’s wife (Gen 39:12-18). The Bible teaches that the Law of Moses was given at a specific time to specific people for a specific purpose. Much of what was given at Mount Sinai included God's universal "laws" about right and wrong and loving God, which were in effect long before the Law was given. But the purpose of the Law of Moses was not to set a new moral standard. It was to turn a ragtag group of recent slaves into the nation of Israel and set them apart for God. And embedded in those Mosaic laws of ceremony, ritual, distinction, and civil order were shadows that pointed to Christ. And it's _those_ laws that have been fulfilled by Christ and are no longer binding under the New Covenant. Blessings, Rob

12:46 The verb entellomai in M28.19 and noun "entole" found in MANY NT verses is not a "command(ment)" but an "aim-in" or "inner-aim" from the Greek preposition "en" (in) and "telios" a finishing. To translated entellomai or entole as "command(ment)" has the disadvantage in that i's only understood as a "demand" of "obedience" according to the old covenant through Moses. In the new and "better covenant" with the INdwelling spirit, a "command" is now adapted to the new situation because of the fulfillment of the law of the which could never make alivet. Unfortunately, the Greek entellomai and entole have been freely rendered "command(ment)," however the internal instruction contains in in the law of the Spirit of the life in Christ is not a demand but an aim to be reached which is in the abillity of God Himwelf, INdwelling the faithing ones, not a "demand" or "commandment" which the law of Moses did not attain into a completion or finishing of the hallowing required into son-setting.

I think your explanation about the Law is right. However, for context, I would like to add the following: The Old and New Testaments are intertwined into the message of salvation. Each plays a distinct role. God instituted the Old Testament Covenant with the Children of Israel under the period of Adam's sin. The Scriptures state that sin and death reigned from the periods of Adam to Moses. Interestingly, one of the roles of the Old Testament was to give people the opportunity to escape the condemnation of this sin and death by the keeping of the Law to obtain righteousness to which no one could. Therefore, by the Law, the Children of Israel were helplessly trapped under the condemnation of sin and death. The Children of Israel were trapped because of the Law's stipulations: "The soul that sins shall surely die, and sin is the transgression of the Law." God also declares that all have sinned and come shot of His glory. The Children of Israel were in a difficult situation because they were sinners by nature. They could not prevent themselves from breaking God's Law. The New Testament, through Jesus ' blood, is the only means of escape from the Law's wrath. After escaping the Law's wrath through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the power of His salvation, many are still clinging to that old system of sin and death thereby despising Jesus sufferings and death. However, if there was no Law, Jesus would not have died. As a result, there would be no need for salvation.

Explain Luke 1:6 Romans 6:18
@rupierichards1809
@rupierichards1809 Жыл бұрын
Luke 1:6 speaks to the period before the New Testament Church Age. Therefore, that kind of righteousness did redeem them from the Law's wrath. Jesus' death redeems us from the Law which is the true righteousness unto salvation. Therefore, Zacharias and his wife were still under sin. Paul explains this mystery: Philippians 3:5-8 states: Concerning zeal, persecuting the church. Touching the righteousness which is in the Law blameless. But what things were gained to me, I counted loss to Christ... Romans 6:18 speaks to them for whom Jesus had died. Because we believe in Jesus Christ, God has remitted our sins. As a result, we have become children of God having been made righteous through Jesus Christ. During the period of the Old Testament, humanity was held captive under sin. Under the New Testament, believers are not only redeemed from sin but are the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ.

If you say that just refers to Jews - 1) isn't that confusing? That would give credence to the whole 'two sets of Laws', one for Jews and one for Gentiles. But then this screws up the whole Gal 3:28 'neither Jew nor Greek', Rom. 10:12, and Col. 3:11 2) 'flight on a Sabbath', well whose Sabbath?! Jew's will have different Sabbaths than Gentiles. But you do make a good point that in Egypt the wrath of God passed over doors covered with blood, that is what Jesus can do for us by faith in his blood, that now in heaven he can sprinkle his blood on the Mercy Seat for those he judges as sanctified. 4:26 here is the problem with you quick video. You cant have all 4 statement and the whole be true. The problem starts with #2 the laws of Moses/Christ/God are the same, and are the requirements of the new testament as stated in Jeremiah 31:31 and echoed Hebrew 8:10 the difference is the reward and circumcised heart. #3 So if you agree to the blood of Christ, you're still bound by the requirements law as spoke in 1 John 3 because the old law is imbedded in the new testament. #4 if Christ is one with God he would have the same morality as God this the same law. Else you have actually changed to a different god.

"Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, And Your law is truth." Psalms 119:142 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ." John 1:17 "But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins PREVIOUSLY committed; for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but BY A LAW OF FAITH. For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, since indeed God who will justify the CIRCUMCISED BY FAITH and the UNCIRCUMCISED THROUGH FAITH is one. Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, WE ESTABLISH THE LAW." Romans 3:21‭-‬31 "Was any man called when he was already circumcised? He is not to become uncircumcised. Has anyone been called in uncircumcision? He is not to be circumcised. Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but WHAT MATTERS IS THE KEEPING OF THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD. Each man must remain in that condition in which he was called." 1 Corinthians 7:18‭-‬20 "If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions, and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. BUT GODLINESS ACTUALLY IS A MEANS OF GREAT GAIN WHEN ACCOMPANIED BY CONTENTMENT. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. I would disagree with you on the point you made around 13 minutes in where you say the commandments of Christ are not the commandments of God. First if we review all the things that Christ teaches, or "commands" if you prefer. We find that the Son does only what He has seen the Father do. He speaks the words the Father has spoken and instructs the same things the Father instructed. Refer to Jeremiah 31:33. Notice that the content of the new covenant is the Torah. Using Hebrew and Greek interlinears will help in your studies. In your analogy of the acorn, when the oak arises from it, all of the content of the acorn is invested in the oak. Now, you are right when you say that some of God's teachings apply exclusively to the people they are addressed to. And it is also true that some of God's teachings are not permissible to those they are not addressed to. But there are many things that apply specifically to the people addressed and are permissible to others if done with the right understanding and intent. Consider God's instructions to the levitical priests in Exodus 30. The priests are supposed to wash the rotting blood and guts, from sacrificing animals, off their hands before approaching the altar to prepare the meal. No one else is commanded to do this. But is it a good idea to avoid cross contamination? Are regular people not allowed to wash their hands before preparing or serving food? Obviously there is a lot of freedom in the law. Often, even the principles of the law are given as a vague generalization leaving the exact implementation up to the person practicing it. On the topic of ceremonial law, you might consider what ceremonial law is. Ceremonial law describes How God runs his eternal court after which the earthly temple, synagogue and the New testament church are patterned (Exodus 25:40). Ceremonial law allows people on earth to follow along with what God is doing in heaven. Refer to the Lord's prayer. It also keeps God's kids from bumbling around on earth, making fools of themselves in the heavenly court. To be absent from the body is to already be in God's presence. We are there now even though we can't see it through our earthly eyes. You brought up circumcision. This is something God taught to the children of Abraham. Both biological and adopted. If you know what it means go ahead, but Paul teaches that a gentile should not undergo circumcision as a means of giving up your nationality and becoming a citizen of the tribe of Judah. In Paul's time Circumcision had become conflated with immigration. Many elders, in the time of Christ, taught that only people with Judian citizenship could get saved. Circumcision cannot impart or improve salvation. Neither does the mikvah. It is a personal witness between a believer and God. So it is more significant to be inwardly circumcised than to be just outwardly so. It is both spiritual and physical. But if you don't know what it means don't do the physical part. It isn't of any use to you if you don't know what it means. Yes, Jewish children are raised with it and affirm it when they understand. But are supposed to have been taught from infancy. When it comes to discussion of God's law, I would advise learning what it is and how it works as a prerequisite to discussing it. Here is a quick overview. The Law is the collection of God's teachings(Torah) about how men can live a Godly life in this earthly age. It is the content of every covenant He makes. As society cast off Godly knowledge the verbal expression of Godliness was expanded to cover the principles cast off by the world. Now, the word "Israel" has two interpretations. Together they tell the story of every child of God. First it means to have struggled fruitlessly in the presence of God. Second it means to labor fruitfully, joined to God. The law begins, "Listen up Israel, the Lord is your God the Lord in oneness." Next it is divided into ten topical headings into which the rest of God's teachings are sorted. We sometimes translate them as commandments but the text refers to them as matters, issues, or topics. In the new testament a different set of 4 topic headings are provided for new gentile believers. See acts 15, particularly 20 and 21. The apostles did not invent them but instead drew from Torah a set of topical headings that predate the ten on the stone tablets. Traditionally, Judaism has taught that these four topical headings apply to righteous gentiles. These God given topics encapsulate all of God's teachings that are required of gentle believers or permissible to them. The stated goal, in the text, is to use these categorical generalizations partly as an introductory course for new believers and partly as a way of establishing fellowship as siblings between Jews, mature gentile believers and new converts. Not to make gentiles Jews or Jews gentiles but to welcome them as co-religionists from different nations. Then, as Acts 21:25 states, fill in their understanding from the Torah. Some other common names for the law of Moses are, "All things that pertain to life and Godliness" and "The divine nature that is in us through Messiah". We also find those terms in the New Testament. Now a certain man began to build a mansion, and longed desperately for it to become totelos, functionality complete. On the day it was completed he visited. He did not move in, but ordered it's destruction for it was totelos, fulfilled. Now, in the course of time, a certain man began to build a mansion, and longed desperately for it to become totelos, functionality complete. On the day it was completed he visited. He did not move in, but abandoned it to rot and decay and he lived on the street begging for bread because his expensive mansion was totelos, fulfilled. Again, somewhere in the course of time, a certain man began to build a mansion, and he longed desperately for it to become totelos, functionality complete. On the day it was completed he visited. He moved in, and invited his friends, saying "Rejoice with me because my mansion is totelos, fulfilled."

I don't believe a gentile needs to fake Jewishness in order to get or keep a relationship with God. So I am not a Judaizer like the ones in Paul's day. I am not even Hebrew Roots. What I am is a Jewish follower of the Jewish Messiah. I do believe that a personal relationship God will look very Jewish because the Jews got their Jewishness from a personal relationship with God. I have watched Mr Solberg's other videos and I find he draws too heavily on teachings of Marcion the heretic. Marcion the heretic believed that all the apostles had fallen into heresy since their teachings were very Jewish. He was also something of a neo gnostic. He got kicked out of his home church for using his teachings in an immoral way. He came to feel that Paul was the only faithful church leader, so he moved to Rome confident that Paul's disciples would welcome him put him in a position of authority and affirm his own personal spin on the teachings of Paul. Paul's disciples met with him and gave him a fair hearing, but they rejected his teachings and when he refused correction he was put out of fellowship. After that he decided he was the only real Christian, so he made his own church based on getting rid of anything that seemed to Jewish. After he died his followers gave up some of his worst herecies but clung to many others. In time their hybrid doctrine became more popular than the teachings of the apostolic disciples. Mr Solberg's teachings draw heavily from the Marcionite tradition. I think people should go back to the teachings of the Messiah and his apostles. I enjoy studying the scriptures in the original languages and learning the cultural background that went into the text. I enjoy helping people understand the teachings of God as they are preserved for us in the Bible. Sure it looks more Jewish than the ways of the world, but what's the world worth to us in comparison to the God of all creation anyway?

@@johnwhoissavedbygrace9975Paul declared that a new Gentile convert who sought to be circumcised in order to be saved would be anathema because doing so is a violation of the Law of Moses. That's why they would be cut off from Christ. Paul's opponents in Galatians weren't teaching obedience to the Law of Moses. They were teaching a man-made tradition which held that the only way a Gentile could be saved was to become a Jew through ritual circumcision. This is what Paul calls "ergon nomou" (works of law) which is something different than the Law of Moses.

TheBiblicalRootts. Hi. My sentiments exactly. What I was trying to point out was the only law that is salvation oriented is the moral law or the 10 commands . Other laws were not . Eg. How I treat people today is how I will.treat them in heaven . The eternal law of love defines and describes what love joy peace etc is towards our nieghbors and more importantly our Creator . We could make up oue own ideas of what love is otherwise . The sanctuary laws have shifted to the heavenly sanctuary. The SYBOLS have been done away with bur the SERVICE to get rid of sin through the blood is still.available ( well I hope so)

You have heared is said but i say, you have that wrong... there is a big difference between "u have heard it said" and "its written" he never said, its written but i say, because he is what is written.

Zechariah (chapter 1) In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying, 2 The Lord hath been sore displeased with your fathers. 3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts. 4 Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the Lord. 5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever? 6 But MY WORDS and MY STATUTES, WHICH I COMMANDED MY SERVANTS THE PROPHETS, did they not take hold of your fathers? Looks like ALL THE LAW comes from GOD, he told to his SERVANTS (Moses, etc) what to write and say... The COMMANDMENTS of God 👈

Ummmm....What about the Sermon on the Mount...? He didn't only teach the Law, He made it even harder! This is misleading teaching you are sharing.
