The LAZIEST gold making method

The adage "Knowledge is Power" rings true for everything, even making gold in Guild Wars 2. Since the early days of the game players have figured out that not everything sold on the Black Lion Trading Post done so at the correct price.
Some items tend to sell at a premium or discount, depending on different factors such as RNG, Account Bound materials required, etc.
One of these more RNG reliant items are loot bags dropped by various enemies throughout the game, such as Centaurs, Svanir, Skritt, etc. If you know the approximate value of the possible contents of these bags, you can make a decent profit by simply buying and opening them and relisting all of the contents for sale. If you want to go the extra mile, you could even process these materials and craft them into different components.
This method was often reserved for players who have made extensive spreadsheets, detailing the loot the got from opening thousands or even millions of these bags. But now, there are websites publicly available that let anyone do the same!

You know what is more profitable than this? Creator buys 5-6 digits of these bags Creates a video on "How to earn gold" (very clickbait title) Price spikes due to FOMO Creator then sells hoarded bags at a higher price Not saying you did this, not saying you didn't. But far too many times have I encountered people who have done it.

Heard that before as well. People who've followed me for a while, know I don't. But it doesn't really matter, I made the mistake of naming specific items in my earlier videos. That's why nowadays I try to stick to the method, hoping that people can replicate it without having a specific item, or loot bag in this case, recommended.

Eventually it'll balance out. You can't camp every farm method at once. People will find their preferred niches and with farming skill increasing globally it'll flush gold into the economy. We'll see more legendaries bought and sold.

My main method is well known and yet super secret. Flipping, everyone knows what it is but only a few have mastered identifying targets and running several dozens or hundreds of targets simultaneously.

It's quite interesting, I'm looking at this video a few hours ago and did this method, consistently getting 3-4 gold for buying and selling 4 stacks of bags, profit from the web was 40-50 copper, right now just a few hours later, the bag that I was originally selling wasn't even profitable anymore, and the highest profit avg on the web down to 22 copper. gonna wait a few months until people forget about this and start another grind.

Another market ruined! Thanks, Phandrel! Only joking :D This is one that I knew about and then forgot about as back then, having just started, I didn't have the gold reserves to make it worthwhile. Maybe time to give it a look ... once the prices settle down again :p On the matter of prices, do you have any idea why Orichalcum Ore has plummeted on the TP this month? It's selling for half what it was - in fact I refuse to sell at the current value and shall wait for the market to recover or just use it up in my crafting :chuckles:

I'm not really sure. The supply has been steadily increasing, which seems to be correlated to the current price. But the reason behind it is unclear to me. For the long term, I also wonder how long the Jade Bot and Protocols market will keep sustaining Orichalcum prices, as we're slowly going back to pre-EoD price levels.

@@phandrel TBH its just the lack of actual ori sinks currently. There's no new craftabble armour/weapon set nor any new leggy weapons that that will consume the supply and people just get them from regular salvage, even if they don't go mine it.

@@phandrel Yea given the price of platinum atm (its higher than ori) you can even get the glyph of crucible to hit mithril nodes instead. Same for elder wood (hard wood is roughly the same price as ancient and crucible doesn't have a daily limit, unlike alchemy). Plus the glyph was like 3g or something during halloween, you can very easily earn back that amount.

Nice! There's a Rich Mithril Vein route in Blish HUD (Tekkit's Routes) as well. Although running around the 3 zones in Orr will yield a ton as well.

@@SoulCasta Thats the best way to accumulate them, but if you really want a fast way, buying ectos and salvaging them gives the most in the shortest amount of time. It will cost you however, especially with the current ecto price. Doing any meta that gives a huge amount of blue/green unID gear will let you slowly accumulate it. IMO, don't rush it (unless you're making gen 3 leggy weapons) because at some point you'll end up like me with a gigantic pile of useless luck.
