Thanks for replying to my question. I have an up coming project to make a knife sheath for a hand made knife with, I'm not sure what kind of handle, but it some kind of goat looking handle. And why I'm thinking it needs a black cherry sheath, I'm not sure, but I "think" it would look awesome! Again, thanks for the information, I will give it a try and see how it could turn out! I often use antique intentionally on the flesh side of the leather to help seal it. It's especially helpful with lower quality veg tans from "The Competition"

I've been using coins to emboss leather. Use a C-clamp and a coin with a hole in the middle (50 Yen) and it makes a fun makers mark.

Old manila file folders also work well, there thick and if your like me you have a lot of used ones, there perfect for patterns, I have glued them together with all purpose glue sticks to make larger patterns, it sets fas and holds really good. Great tips and tricks! keep it coming!

I'm a major hoarder of plastic bins and tubs. Scrap leather, dye bottles, dip dye, anything you can think of, plastic tubs are good for.

Office file metal binder clamps help me keep stitch lines straight and come in many sizes and some scrap leather on the metal makes no marks.

If you sand the back of your pattern sheets lightly, it will have just enough grip not to move as you draw around your pattern

Chuck i love your videos. if i am having issues my first stop for answers is the Weaver videos ... so i have to replace my ultra classics saddle the current one is pleather and sun damaged (i live in nevada) so i am thinking tooling a cool design and then wet forming the leather to the old seat. any advise on techniques materials and protection... i do like the way that brown Buffalo looked on the strap cutter video but if there is a beter weight or type I'm all ears

Hey Chuck, Can you mix Red and black leather dyes, to make a black cherry dye? Or will dyes not mix?

Hi James, Dyes can be mixed - you just have to play around a bit to get the ratio you are looking for! I have not tried mixing red and black but it sounds pretty cool!

Hey Chuck! I have a question that I haven´t seen before on your chanel... Is there any way to dilute pro dye? I just bought Roayl Blue color and I added leather balm to dyed leather as a finish. It turned a bit too dark for me. I would like to get more brighter colors after finishing a leather. Saddle Lac might keep it lighter but wouldn´t like to use it because it needs a good ventilation.
