Thank you!!! One of my favorites from the 60s. I'm a sucker for a minor key. ☮

"Pretty Ballerina" was one of the first pop songs to use the Lydian mode in its melody (more specifically the acoustic scale), predating the Beatles' Indian-inspired "Blue Jay Way" and Donovan's "Peregrine". - Wikipedia

Another similar group is a 60s San Francisco band is The Beau Brummels and the We Five. Great blending of folk, rock, and classical touches. The 60s were a great time for a meld of the past and future of music. The library of full.

An obscure tune that was underrated just like "Walk Away Renee". On my favorite playlists.

Another “origin of Prog” song. A standout. ✌️

Standout track from this album: "Let Go of You Girl."

The girl is real, and was the girlfriend of the bassist, and was written by 15 year old band member Michael Brown who was in love with her, just like Walk Away Renee was about her. The eeriness and so forth was because it was written in Lydian mode, which is not usual for pop/rock songs.

Awesome follow up to Walk away Renée. Kinda like it a bit better?!

He came on too strong and his over eagerness scared her off "I called her yesterday, it should have been tomorrow".

The only 45 I have by the band, but not for this track, but the cool "garage-fuzz" B-side, "Lazy Day".
