I just realized something. Korra takes place 70 years later after the original series. She was 17 when she came to Republic City and 18 years old during season 2 and 3. Then the three year time skip happen and she's 21 years old now. So that mean it's been 73 years since then. Sozin's comet appears once every 100 years right so that means there's 27 years left before it returns. So Korra being 21 plus the 27 years later, means she will be 48 years old by then! Imagine how powerful she will be since her go to element is fire 🔥🔥

ATLA, Korra S1, S3, S4 all of their own political ideologies and their opposites. ATLA was the quintessential right-wing nationalistic empire. Complete with pledges and revisionist education. Korra S1 was protesters who wanted equality against people who held disproportionate power over them. But even if it meant holding people back or eliminating what makes them special. This would NOT have ended with Amon. This would be a fundamental, lasting struggle in Republic City. Korra S3 was anarchism, though perhaps a bit of a blunted version of it. Not especially left or right. Korra S4 is authoritarianism. Not necessarily left or right. Anarchism in too large of a scale essentially always ends up with a power vacuum that is filled by a dictator. Korra S2 was magic light Kaiju uppercuts. That isn't a political ideology as far as I know.

19:22 In Kuvira's defense, that's the logical thing to do in a situation such as the one the Earth Kingdom is in. You can't just help people out of the good of your heart when there's not enough structure and resources to get the nation back on track. If Kuvira had gone around doing as the air nation and just gifting people food, then she would have been out of it in a blink and bandits would have taken those again. You need a self sustaining army and state to actually cure the chaos. Bit of spoilers: This is why Kuvira is actually my favorite of the villians: she is the most realistic one. The one that played with the most realistic problems and threaded the very thin balance of building the house of cards that is a state. She definitely ends up becoming a tyrant, but *when* did she cross the line that made her quest unworthy? That's very up for debate. Was it here with this random town where she didn't feed the people that refused to help her empire with food she wouldn't have if not for people making the empire? Was it when she refused Wu? Was it when she invaded Zhau Fu? Was it when she went to Republic City? In my opinion, I was with her until Zhau Fu

Legend of Korra does a lot of things right in season 3 and 4, and one of the main things it accomplishes is showing the ramifications of the events of season 3 in season 4. Whether it is the Earth Kingdom's political situation, Korra's continuing recovery, Tenzin's kids growing up, or the characters finding (or failing to get back to) their career paths, they all show growth and that the world keeps moving. The show takes a healthy 3 year time jump (not too long or too short) and then does a spectacular job of getting us caught up with the characters. Just really well done storytelling. What Korra is up to was also deliberately left vague, as the next episode is about her and aptly titled "Korra Alone".

That number one rule "Show, don't tell" was not followed and even worse, they showed the opposite They want to make Kuvira a dictator, and all the bad thing about her they could show was just her attitude. Meanwhile her action telling some good side. She handled those bandits easily, and earlier we were shown that those bandits are really problem to people, so, 1 good thing. The second thing they show us is after the mayor signed the paper, the town was saved, people get food, children are happy, so another good thing while all her bad things she did to the land she passed was just told by a random character like the mayor look at what we were shown, Kuvira may have a bad attitude, but whatever she does isn't bad, the bad thing she did weren't shown. We have the air pirate scene pretty much show that maybe Kuvira's order but compare to what were shown, it's not enough

A series to react to that has an at least similar vibe to atla would be ,,the dragon prince"

Dragon Prince was a swing and a miss for me on every front. The animation, writing, characters, setting, pacing and story were just... mediocre. People complained that Aaron Eihasz didn't return for Korra, but TBH, Konietzko and DiMartino did a lot better with Korra than Ehasz did with TDP.

@Ricardo Alonso Rojas the framerate is fixed from season 2 onwards. The story also gets better

@Ricardo Alonso Rojas The animation is great in seasons 2 and 3, especially in 3, it looks way better

@@Vasharan That's a... take. The character development is way better in TDP than it was in TLOK. Like, I love this show but aside from Korra, Tenzin and Lin none of the characters get any major growth. TDP definitely feels more like Avatar in that aspect, the characters are way more complex.

Also as a side note, im like 99% certain that those bandits that used that plane were hired bandits by kuvira to force that state to accept Kuvira's contract.

I really hope you do a read (maybe in private or as a "reaction") of the comics that take place after the series, at the very least, the search for Zuko's Mother, Ursa

Every season's deals with some soft of extrem political philosophy Season 1: Amon= Communism Season 2: Unalaq = Religion extremism Season 3: Zaheer = Anarchism Seaspn 4: Kuvira = Fascism

To be fair to Bolin, he really does care and likes helping people that's the only thing he really cars about. Im sure Kuvira was like hey how would you like to help me help people and Bolin was sold on help. He just unfortunately doesn't know when something is so obvious. When he found out Korra and Mako kissed, the whole Eska thing, there might of been a episode where Mako was even like hey you should of seen this coming and Bolin was like I'm literally the worse at obvious things. They just go over his head lol...
