Matt had hoped to make Raishan a dracolich and have her be an ongoing threat to a future campaign, but Kiki caught her with a scry when her legendary resistances had been spent And given that there really wasn't an easy way to introduce Feeblemind - or Kerrek, for that matter - having Kiki give Raishan her disease back was a pretty epic way to do it.

Call me crazy but I love all the changes they have made in the show. Keyleth getting to essentially take on Raishan alone is badass, and really shows off her power curve.
