Openning the portal, from a mechanics perspective, Kima is a paladin. They are half casters. So she should have about half the ability to cast spells. Technically Vex is a half caster also but I think it will be Kima because they have shown her using magic in season 2.

Though Vex in the show has been pretty well stripped of her powers, all her magic is implied to just be coming from her enchanted bow and arrows

The visions bombarding Vax are from the Matron, and feel to me like a way of keeping Vax all to herself. Keyleth will live, barring accidents, over 1500 years. Vax would top out under 200. It's a long time, but people can love and lose and still cherish those memories. Dohla was an in canon character who actually died when Allura's party fought Thordak. But she is representing another character (who had a crush on Allura) here.

This was recorded in a group setting, so all the moans and noises that Vex (Laura Bailey) and Percy (Taliesin Jaffe) made were being done at a table surrounded by the cast. In contrast, the BG3 cast did all of their moanovers in isolated sound booths and with intimacy coordinators on hand. Vax (Liam O'Brien) took video on his phone. After the 3 episodes aired, Laura's mom texted her "we loved it!" Laura replied "thanks. sorry about all the sex."

Idk why people keep confusing what Vex says to Percy. She's telling him they can't be in an actual relationship because she's scared something will happen to him. They can't be more than a fling, which is something Percy begrudgingly agrees to.

It's because they worded "can't be anything more than a fling" isn't of "can't be anything BUT a fling." They made it too wordy for people who are reacting and so mostly likely taking over half of it. @angelav4401

Some behind-the-scenes info: Dhola was in the campaign, but was a very different character. When Critical Role started, there was another player who was pretty toxic, both in the game and in real life. He was removed from the group because of his behavior, but it seems this version of Dhola incorporates some of his character and some of his character's behavior.

This is just speculation, though. Personally, I think this parallel is unintentional. I doubt the CR team would want to invite all that drama.

Anybody who knows the details, the relationships, and the character inspirations would not be able to miss the parallels. There is definitely a recognition of what happened, far beyond speculation.

The thing is, the CR team is pretty careful about this sort of thing, so they wouldn't have left that many parallels in accidentally. They would have caught it and changed it if they wanted to, but there's no way they didn't notice. The fact that they allowed it in is intentional.
