The moment with the mom and the last hit by Vax on Thordak are actually deeply connected to what happened in real life : Liam (Vax's player) lost his mother few weeks prior to that moment in game, so it was a very emotional and cathartic for him

Grog's "blackout" was a thing that'd happen when Travis took over choice making during a decision paralysis moment on the stream, so it was funny to bring it to animation.

Brennan Lee Mulligan’s explanation of Clerics and Paladins makes the most sense to me: A Cleric draws power from the worship of a diety. As they gain faith and understanding from a deeper relationship to their god, they gain more power. A Paladin draws power from conviction. The more committed they are to a cause - not a necessarily a diety - the more powerful they become. The various subclasses of Paladin illustrate different causes they can swear to uphold - vengeance is obvious, another is crown (A king, the law, etc), and ….as Luis Carazo so beautifully showed as Zerxes, redemption.

Kash's spell was likely a high level Guiding Bolt.

Vax finishing off Thordak while his mom's words went though his head has s much more weight if you know this was Liam dealing with his mom dying from cancer. Like him emotionally defeating the monster that killed his mom.

RIP Kash! Also, the scene where Vax is killing Thordak looks so badass.

I think Kash's weapon was just a visual representation of casting Spiritual Weapon at a super highlevel, haven't count the ammount of spears they show, but it can easily be the ammount of dice.

12:50 Vax consistently has some of the most epic imagery of the series Great fight. Enjoyed your reaction to it.

Kash will never be forgotten, and Vax killing Thordak was super cool. Lance Reddick did a great job as Thordak too (May he Rest In Peace), and Cree is nailing it as Raishan!!

The Everlight has nothing to do with Pike's Vestige. It's from the Dawnfather.

Dragons trying to just leave when they hit a certain point of damage is a standard thing. You tend to wound them until they shove off. They obviously didn’t want Thordak to pull that though and then have to deal with him when he’d recovered.

Some fans were really, really pissed off about Kash in this. Mainly because he's still alive in the campaign and has a child with Zahra.

There was a book out years ago published by Fasa I think. It was called Never deal with a dragon. It was in the Shadowrun universe and it was great.

"Watch your back, conserve ammo, and never cut a deal with a Dragon." From the First Edition rulebook, I think, and one of those instant moments that make you realise 'this is going to be good'. And then, yes, I believe they did also use it as the title of tie-in novel.
@wymans6687 сағат бұрын
@@andthenhesaid I believe that was the book where the dragon Dunkelzahn (sp?) was elected president and then assassinated. It has however been over 30 years since I read it, so I could be wrong.

Call me crazy, but I feel like we're not supposed to be cheering Pike abandoning her god (and in doing so, listening to a literal devil on her shoulder) I've got faith this is a character arc that will eventually result in Pike realizing she's gone astray, that's not my concern. My concern is the hoardes of fans cheering her for this that I feel like are setting themselves up for disappointment if they don't want her to stay a devout cleric of the Everlight
@Dannydarko2725 күн бұрын
I also feel like the show is setting up something real crazy with her divinity, or could also be the series' way of her domain transitioning from a Life cleric to a War cleric even though that happened way before this
@Jjop01714 күн бұрын
I think the show does setup that that Pike losing faith in her god is a manipulation on that guy in Hell's part. Since he sent a demon after the party to kill everyone but Pike I think Pike losing her faith is going to be a problem.
@martophrenia9 сағат бұрын
I mean believing in HERSELF first and foremost is not really a bad direction for her character. I’m sure she’ll find her way back to the Everlight eventually, but she’ll be more confident in herself this time around. But overall I’m just curious about where are they going with the whole magical blood thing with her.

Spoilers for others: Jake, think about in what state the Everlight is at this point of time in the campaign and why. She had tried to redeem Azmodeus and he tricked her and punished her by targeting her followers. She's practically diminished and is lending all she has to Pike. In the campaign her temple in Vasselheim was even forgotten and Pike spent a lot of time rebuilding it and the Everlight's following. Everlight's warning to Pike when walking into the Hells was not about her abandoning Pike when she continues. It's about Pike abandoning the Everlight if she continues to walk in the domain of her pettiest enemy. And after trying to redeem irredeemable souls Pike ended up listening to words of the Champion of Azmodeus and denounced the Everlight. The blood stuff is just a red herring like it was in the campaign.

On the one hand, I like that Keyleth got vindicated. On the other hand, I feel like nobody actually trusted Raishan, they just didn't have any other option. Like okay, let's say they turned down Raishan's deal... So then Raishan tells Thordak where Whitestone is and doesn't turn against him at the end. Would that have been better? Feels like it would've been better if Raishan had leaned more into thinking them fools for not immediately turning on her once they'd defeated Thordak or somethin.
@officiallyjan85967 сағат бұрын
Saying that Keyleth got "vindicated" is kinda false imo when she basically imagined the entire "issue" in the first place and is now trying to act like she knew anything that the others didn't. She was still wrong that they shouldn't have worked with Raishan, everyone knew and acknowledged the entire time that she would probably betray them once Thordak was out of the way and the actual argument they gave for why they should still work with her (Thordak was the bigger issue so even if she does betray them, they'd rather fight 2 dragons separately than both of them working together, especially since Raishan could kill any of them at any time and knows a crapton of things they don't want Thordak to know), Keyleth never had (and never gets) any actual counter argument. Raishan's betrayal literally changes nothing about any of that, Keyleth is no more "right" than she ever was before and she was never disrespected by the others despite whining and claiming now that she was. She claims that she was "questioned" and "disregarded" when that's literally the opposite of what happened; she had nothing to say about anything other than repeating with a pout that she refused to accept working with Raishan out of principle in spite of having no other options and rejecting her out of hand leading to much worse things than working together. She says she was "questioned" but the "questioning" in question was literally just the others saying "We have no other options, bad things will happen if we don't do it, do you have *literally* any other suggestions?" and she never did; she just pouted in the corner and gave Vax angry glares for daring to not agree with her by default. She says she was "disregarded" but literally every time she told the team to not work with Raishan, they turned on Raishan and refused to work with her on the spot despite not even agreeing with her in the first place, *literally putting more weight on her choice than their own.* Yet she now got a big "I was right" moment and acts like she'd been wronged by the team when she never was, it makes her look like an insufferable brat and the fact that the rest of Vox Machina go along with it and don't call her out for it shows that clearly the writing team actually think Keyleth's delusions are what actually happened. It's a bad sign for next season.

@ToddKrempkin-j4h28 күн бұрын
Why? Curious. They’ve been setting it up for a while and think it was a really effective way to do it. Did you want her to get rid of everlight another way? Confront her directly?

@@ToddKrempkin-j4h No, I don't want Pike to get rid of the Everlight at all, it's a weird change and not really in a good way.

I don’t think she’s getting rid of it. It’s hard to say rn but it’s prob a season 4 plot. Probably some more issues with belief and her being a tool of some kind for the whispered one

I mean... anything they do with Pike is a change seeing how Ashley wasn't there for over half the campaign. This 100% gives a way into a preview of the calamity and beyond... I think they'll bring that story back around by the end.
@joeyelverdin441010 сағат бұрын
I doubt this means she will fully abandon the everlight, probably more so exploring who she is without the everlight and that she can do a lot without her. Not really a thing in the original campaign but an extra arc would probably be a good idea for her
