This is probably the best depiction of various dragons I've ever seen. I remember reading the Dragonlance books when I was younger, and THIS is is how I always pictured them in my head. Those books instilled a deep dread of black dragons in particular in me, acid has always freaked me out, and this lived up to that image so well.

god the little bits of flavor in the dragon designs? umbrasyl's wings leaking acid? thordak lighting up like a gas stove? even the cobra-like design to raishan is amazing. the artists and animators put in 110% effort and i adore it

The only downside is that the scenes with the dragons are kind of dark so you can't really see that Raishan is diseased she kind of looks normal....not as sickly as I would have thought they'd make her look. From what I remember of Matt's descriptions once you get close enough to Raishan you can clearly see that something is wrong with her skin.... And I just wasn't able to see it in the show. 🤷‍♀️ But other than that I did love the variation between the dragons in their looks!

The Chroma Conclave are the most destructive and ruthless dragons I’ve seen in almost a decade. Thordak alone is like a nightmare fusion of Smaug and King Ghidorah! And I love that he’s voiced by Lance Reddick.

I’ve been wanting to do a Percy cosplay for a while. I don’t know where to even start though, I’m a pretty tall guy but I’m slender like Percy. He’s my favorite character in Vox Machina even before the animated show. Out of all cosplays I wanted to do Percy has been the one I wanted to do the most because I have the body shape for it and almost the hair style for it. I love this show!!! I love just in general how they portrayed the dragons, but Thordak especially was IMMEDIATELY established to be almost godlike in comparison to what the show has had so far, even to people who know nothing about how D&D classifies dragons and how they scale in power. Even if someone had been thinking along the lines of "I mean, they already killed one dragon, this shouldn't be THAT much harder even if there's four of them..." then BOOM, insert Thordak shooting goddamn nuke beams out of his mouth, making metal melt into puddles by his mere presence and having other insanely powerful dragons cower in submission to him.

I love how Adam started watching Vox Machina with no clue about Critical Role or any of the characters, then by the end of the first season he was in a full make-shift Percy cosplay, and now he's EVOLVED into FULL PERCY COSPLAY. That combined with crying the first time they saw the opening? The Chroma Conclave. Love this arc. Not going to say too much as I'd probably start spoiling but we're in for some memorable moments. You'd think Matt stopped pulling punches in Briarwood's arc but in this one he went all out. Four Ancient Dragons compared to whom Brimscythe, the Iron Storm was merely an equivalent of an intern. That introduction had to do justice to this turn of events in the campaign and boy, it exceeded all expectations.
