I love these stories because they bring back memories when my Western Pioneer Family told stories about personal experiences and notorious people the knew. The oral story teller existed since paleolithic times when men told stories in cave paintings. Oral story tellers was the first authors before the written word. These story tellers became authors and we lost the art of polite and entertaining conversation.

I used to hike around up in the Superstitions- a pretty place at the right time of year. I figured with thousands of people tromping around up there looking, it was a pretty poor place to look for gold, especially since the geology generally is not the type where Gold is found. Well, I decided to search in more likely country and I am sure glad I did.

Lived in Phoenix, 1973-75. I recall the stories of what went on around the Superstitions. Has anyone ever found a real gold mine in those mountains?

I was wondering, Was that check for 5775.00 for chucks ore? If so he certainly found something if that came from 3 5 gallon buckets. Has anyone been back to where he was running that loader to do a complete assay of the material there?

Jack you left out the part where Chuck wandered into LaBarge box and came upon a speaking Trout who saved his life and directed Chuck to the Holy stones which came from the Templars and the stones spoke to him and then Chuck decided he was the new messiah and made those tapes about how aliens from another planet had contacted him through the stones and he would lead mankind into a new age.This would seem ridiculous except it was all true according to Chuck!

@@robertlawton3443 there are a few odd things about Chuck's story ,one the magnetic fields around heavy mineral can give off odd feelings to different people .and every site is different,,but if we look at the true odd things that have been found out there his claims are not as crazy as most would think ...i told you Wayne that the mine was in the north eastern end of springs bluff in LaBarge canyon . but i did not know you guys were calling where Chuck was the LaBarge box .. the two sites are less than 1/8 mile apart .. but is a source of Black platinum/Carbon with micro diamonds in the supers . so Chuck may not have record the best log keeping system but that does not mean he never found a source of Platinum ... i wish Chuck was still around .. all of us have to go some time ...

Interesting wonder if Im related somewhere all I know amout my US connections is my gran dad had an uncle who went into the Utah area in about 1814 or so my dads cousin name of Small owned a gold mine near Nogal New Mexico.
@keithaustin59194 жыл бұрын
This must have been flashy luckily Chuckie. BUT my uncle said his character was way bigger then the man himself,and this was said in a goodway no disrespect . THERE WAS ANOTHER STORY A MAN CALLED OLD CHUCKIE A SAWED OFF S.O.B and Chuck made that man dance shooting at his feet with 2 -6 shooters With out any hesitation. EVIDENTLY THERE IS LOTS OF WILD AND CRAZY PEOPLE THAT THESE MOUNTAINS HAVE LURED IN TO ITS TERRAIN AND I BET ALOT HAVE NEVER LEFT.

There are four good movies inspired by gold mines like the “Lost Dutchman Mine”. “Treasure of Sierra Madre”, “MacKenna’s Gold”, “Lust for Gold”, “Garden of Evil.” to name a few favorites. There must be many others. My family were miners in Utah, Nevada, Arizona, Alaska & Idaho. We never got rich but had fun when we found a nugget. An uncle made more money salting gold mines and selling them to people suffering from fools gold fever.

well Chuck was far from normal but there was a source of Carbon and rare black platinum with micro diamonds for with in a few miles of there . now nothing worthy of mining back then .. some day i may even have some of those tested to see how close Chuck was ...the rest of this Chuck story is just crazy shit to me ,but who knows ..and yes i have 7 of those round black stones and yes you can see the diamonds with the naked eye ... a loop works a lot better ...lol so i have to say if Chuck some how got one of those black stones in a bucket of his test ore yes he may have got enough to misled him self ..by not know the true source of the metal ....
@jacksanfelice88403 жыл бұрын
BUT Chuck was a colorful person of the mountains and he believed that there were valuable ores in the mountains AND THERE ARE!!
