It's an incredible story, but I don't know if it has "no equal". Greg Merson in 2012 was down to less than 2 blinds in the main event on day 5, and went on to win after FOUR MORE DAYS OF PLAY.

You are correct sir! I should have edited my answer to he didn’t know it was there and was lucky to push his chips instead of saying all in. If it was an angle, they wouldn’t have had to chase him down. He was leaving the room when the brush found the chip. The brush would come in and brush the area clean from the ashes etc. Then he had to win several all ins just to get a stack to compete. Still my favorite WSOP story

What angle? He had one more chip than his opponent when he went all in and lost. If he hadn’t the chip lead before The hand, the found chip would go to the opponent and Strauss would still be busted.

@@shawnnelsen4501​​⁠He never said “all in”, just made a big show making it look like he was going all in. Then they “found” that he still had 1 chip left. He purposefully hid the chip and made his opponent think he was going all-in.
