@Djdjndxjsnd3 жыл бұрын
No they were the exact same as girls now but ✨repressed✨
@39thala3 жыл бұрын
@@Djdjndxjsnd WRONG! They 'were' taught to be ladies. That doesn't always necessarily have to translate to repression. They grew up in a loving household and weren't poisoned by the angry, snarky, rebellious, degenerate, nasty-ass rude culture that young people of today are indoctrinated with. They were from a Catholic family but they were a happy family as well and they loved their lives. They did have some tragedy in their family but got through it with their faith. I respect them for that.

I listened to the Patience & Prudence 45 as a kid - my moms 45. It had Gonna Get Along Without Ya Now and B side: The Money Tree
@39thala Жыл бұрын
@@janelbahr8690 Yes, I've heard the Patience & Prudence version. There are several songs that both Patience & Prudence and the Lennon Sisters recorded in the same year. But only the Patience & Prudence records were promoted by DJs and promoters. I think it's because the Lennon sisters were tied to the Lawrence Welk show and their contract with him didn't allow for them to be promoted as freely as an independent act outside of his show. (He was pretty strict about that!) Whereas, Patience & Prudence were with a record company, so they were promoted widely. For example, the song, "Tonight You Being To Me" was done by both Patience & Prudence and The Lennon Sisters in the same year, 1956. But Patience & Prudence' version is the one that always gets the notoriety and is most well known. Also, Patience & Prudence would appear on many different shows whereas, the Lennon sisters were restricted to only performing on Lawrence Welk in those early days. It's a shame because I've always liked most of the Lennon sisters' versions of those songs the best. Just my personal preference.

Wow what a family in our house the old man would get hammered and start round housing every body..
@39thala3 жыл бұрын
Mine didn't have to get hammered to do that. He didn't drink or any of that kind of stuff. He was just an angry person in general. A hot tempered bully most 'all' the time. I could just look at him the wrong way and his fist would find my head in a second. He was always giving me angry looks, talking ugly to me and threatening to knock the hell out of me "just because he felt like it". He'd look for something to get in a confrontation about. I always scoff at people talking about how fathers are so important and how they wish they'd had their fathers around. I simply cannot relate to that. I wished mine wasn't around. It was a constant nightmare. My understanding is, these girls truly did come from a close loving family. Good for them!

Yes, America, there once was a time in our country when female artists weren’t all “tatted up” and felt the need to show how “empowered” they were by showing their rear-end cheeks half-dropping out of skimpy shorts, displaying cleavage for the whole world to see and regurgitating crude references to anatomy and human reproduction. And you know what, these beautiful, extremely talented young singers were a hundred times more attractive than the likes of Miley Cyrus or “Cardi B” will ever be!!!
