I've been writing a video essay on how Lethal Company is a very good translation of what 1st Edition D&D would look like in video game format. The biggest difference is the setting. That's it. The core gameplay is remarkably similar. This video only furthers my stance on the matter. I've also working on a port of Lethal into D&D, so I'll be checking out your work. Great vid bro!

Fascinating concept, I have to say
@victorwagner24239 ай бұрын
Yeah, listening to the intro i realized that this is a loop as this a dungeon for contemporary DnD edition based on a game based on the old school DnD experience. Jaquayed dungeon. Lethat combat that should be avoided whenever possible. Progress based mostly on the value of treasure you managed to bring back with strict carry limits. Same way that modern Tomb Raiders is a heavily inspired spin on Uncharted series, which is just succesful attempt at modernizing core gameplay of old Tomb Raider games.

Might be fun to make them an ant nest but the ants make their ant hills out of valuable metalic sand and the giant could be an evil small creature that during the day they stalk the party and setting up traps and stuff but near evening/night they get a free grow self feature and starts chasing the party in giant form

I never considered how lethal company would work for a high fantasy setting. I figured using Call of Cthulu would be more effective, but this is a really interesting spin on the general premise of Lethal Company!

So, as soon as I saw this posted I hit up my group and played it Sooo spoilers on the mechanichs and stuff here's how it went: I died laughing at the fact that they took 35 minutes outside because they were afraid after reading the sign in the entrance, then instantly initiated combat with the loot bugs. They barely avoided the sharkfined horror and made their way to the reactor by using the floating disk spell to move boxes to use for cover against the turret, as well as locking the horror in the outside hallway. Disconnected the reactor while being hunted by the stalker, the power went out and the horror got free and absolutely destroyed one of the party members. The rest managed to barely escape the stalker by using several sources of light and almost got caught by the dogs. Overall 10/10 experience, and everyone got their fun by solving the puzzles their own way

Imagine the party artificer getting ahold of some uranium cores and building a nuke

Tell me how an artificer could do that? They aren't built for it.
@calvinwilliams99779 ай бұрын
@@leonardhollsten8145 the artificer rolls high enough, there are some funny videos you can find of dms adding uranium to DND then watching the artificer build a nuke because the artificer rolled a nat 20
@leonardhollsten81459 ай бұрын
@@calvinwilliams9977 That doesn't explain how an artificer can build a nuke. They are magical craftspeople. Any class could build a nuke by that logic.
@calvinwilliams99779 ай бұрын
@@leonardhollsten8145 but the whole reason why artificers have magic in the first place is because they became good at math and engineering. This it the basics for learning nuclear physics faster than other classes and because the artificer class is all about creating things and artificers know how to creat magical objects from there ability to know how phisics work. But DND is a subjective game and it would probably be based more around how you play a artificer than wether or not you play artificer at all. For instance, a artificer who learned how to cast magic by getting really good at math would probably be able to make a nuke much easier than an artificer who found themselves to be good at making magical objects and went adventuring to get better at making magic objects.

I've been working on a Deep Rock Galactic game in 5e. Instead of space it's on the ocean. This is not a promotion I just wanted to share. I like your idea to make Lethal Company fit BTW Basically a dwarf clan lord built a bunch of ships and floating what are basicly oil platforms to mine the underdark places under the ocean called the underdepth. Thanks to his inventions like the deep dive pod and the foamcrete solution it's possible to dive down to the underdepth without flooding the caverns most of the time and thanks to magical prospecting they know where to find treasurer. Not only is their metals and gems down there but lost artifacts both old (some civilizations failed to live in that area) and new (the company isn't reasonable for lost equipment and they don't even give you any tools when you start other then a standard pick and a candle) but beware that the bugs that call the caves their home aren't friendly. The company will hire anyone but dwarves and kobolds are preferred do to their mining skills. I also created three new dwarf suptypes (Volcano, Arctic, and Deep Rock) and I'm trying to think of a 4th to round out the hole seven dwarves thing.

"Radiation" can be anything - f.e; Positive Energy Plane in its purest form, causes cancerous growths - much like Radiation can. vice versa - Negative Energy Plane in its strongest form, causes cellular decay, which like Radiation can do. All in all semantic, it's a filler word - you the DM, decides if it's former or latter - or decide that magic = science = magic and some scholars typed the energy planes as sources of Radiation.
