Fun fact! Due to the wonderful backdoors Local Police had access to in Portland, that's why the DOJ has never let up on their "Proctoring" of the Portland police Bureau and few others across the United States. The part you need to pay attention to was when they earmarked out of state politicians and members of government outside of their state jurisdiction that could be used to say it was "Legal" to do so. (probable cause defence for example) Let me just level with you here... The lack of people wanting to fill those positions in the police force, & the mass amount of LEO's and support staff that quit are related to the above. And the crazy part is? Most of the time it was not actually uniformed police officers you see out in Public doing the calls. It's mostly something that was termed as "Side staff". Meaning? It was support roles and personnel that have access to all the stuff LEO's at the precaint or main office did, but they worked outside of that role as a uniformed Peace officer. This also extends to such places as Campus Police for example that are in State schools. They also have full access to the entire tool kit. So how do you verify this? Simple. They have a customer service number. The really dark part in all of this is that as of 7 years ago, Police were getting facebook profiles and all social media accounts of people just to look them up for dating purposes. The story was pushed in MSM as it was sensational at the time that a officer who was INTERESTED in dating you would look you up on your facebook profile, then fax in a form to Facebook saying they would need full access to all your chat, voice and everything (including any login info to anything associated with your facebook account-EVEN BANKING INFO! ) that Facebook, Google, twitter, KZbin etc, , had any sort of connection to with just that single Facebook authorization due to connecting your accounts. That's why it's so dangerous to use a google or Facebook Login to log into many websites that have any access to your Banking or private medical information. You don't see that much anymore out in the wild these days due to that. Also, Louis would be the ultimate FTC dude.

Lets be clear on the nightly drone sightings. If you are trying to be covert you don't put insanely bright lights on your drone that can be seen for miles. However, you would put those navigation and warning lights on your drone if you are complying with the FAA night flying drone regulations. The fact that a few people flying cool drones at night can cause this level of hysteria/conspiracy brain in the US is disturbing.

I've just had a truly terrible and great idea, based on Wendells idea of enabling a kid-friendly web using extended SSL certificates. Why not add a list of other tags to the SSL certificate, like "this is used for video traffic" or "you can provide cached versions of this from here". This way you can make better decissions at the router-level, things like QoS or making the web more kid-friendly. I say this might be a terrible idea, because you could put any topic on such tags, and mandate all traffic be SSL-encrypted with some meta-data relating to its content. If you put it like that it would be an absolute nightmare. Also ISPs immediately would start charging extra for allowing, blocking or prioritizing certain traffic based on that(net neutrality nightmare).
