Yeah, the Taylor machines are a joke. McDonalds was my first job at 18, I worked there when they first came out about 14 years ago. The issue with the machine is they throw errors/error codes, when the machine throws an error you can attempt to ignore/clear the error once (from what I remember). However they almost always instantly threw the error again, 80%+ so once this happened you needed to empty the machine, clean the parts, and put it back together. Once resembled the machine would go into diagnostic mode, took 2.5-3 hours. This would clear the error code but save it to memory, it than took like 1.5-2 hours to get to temp in order to make ice cream again. It was borderline guaranteed to error code again once it got to operating temp. Which means cleaning the unit again, and another 2.5-3 hour diagnostic. So the turn around time was about 5 hours, and maybe 10% of the time at most the machine would function, the other 90% of the time it would hard lock itself into maintance mode, which means no ice cream. Granted this was when they where brand new, they may have changed, maybe a few new generations in the past 14 years idk but this is what I remember of them. Everyone at the store hated the machine, their annoying, basically everyone must learn how to use/navigate it, and just a miserable experience with the machine. Plus you didn't get in trouble if it went down while you where using it, but it "broke while you where using it".

@@alexdrockhound9497 They probably used a different machine, Wendy's does. The biggest issue with the Taylor machine is it does everything, it wasn't just an ice cream machine, it also made the iced coffee drinks, amongst other things. They wanted a single unit to handle everything, but that was the issue, it wasn't some simple ice cream machine, it had menus/settings you needed to navigate, it had multiple internal chambers for the fluids. Wasn't as easy as put the sugar milk in the top, and plug it in which honestly probably played into a lot of the issues. I guess you could call it the equivalent to a more complex all in one soda fountains at fast food places but for ice cream.

@@GainingDespair yeah obviously its a different machine, the point is, theres no reason for McD to be having problems like this, its a choice on their part, and it sounds like its a scam to enrich the Taylor company.

37:40 you joke but this just reminds me of the grubhub guy that was just perpetually bitter for no good reason and poisoned these two game developers and an animators' pizza while they were playing Pikmin at the game devs' home. The animator described the guy as having a super saiyan 3 brow. This guy working for grubhub had multiple complaints and had visited a month or more prior and gave them a beaten up pizza. Of course, they reported it and the guy kept them in memory.
