This message presents a profound reflection on the nature of God's love and the essence of the Gospel, challenging popular perceptions that might dilute its transformative power. It addresses a critical misunderstanding in contemporary Christian messaging - the notion of God's love as unconditional in a way that requires nothing of us, even in our sin and rebellion against Him.
The Misconception of Unconditional Love
Sproul's critique centers on the common assertion that "God loves you unconditionally," highlighting the potential for this statement to be misconstrued by those living in willful disobedience to God. This perception, likened humorously to the benign acceptance of Mr. Rogers' neighborhood, suggests that one can remain as they are without fear of divine judgment. Such a view, however, overlooks the holistic portrayal of God's character in scripture, which includes His holiness, justice, and wrath against sin alongside His love.
The Holiness and Justice of God
Scripture does indeed reveal God's love for humanity, but it also teaches that God "abhors the evildoer" and is a "consuming fire." This presents a more nuanced understanding of God's love - one that cannot be separated from His holiness and justice. The message emphasizes that while God's general benevolence extends to all His creation, His redemptive love - the saving grace that rescues us from sin and judgment - is experienced through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
Salvation from God's Wrath
A striking assertion made is that "the greatest salvation we can ever experience is to be saved from God" - from His righteous wrath against sin. This turns the listener's attention to the gravity of our condition before a holy God and the magnitude of what Jesus accomplished on the cross. It is only through Jesus that we are saved from God's wrath and adopted into His family, receiving mercy and grace where we deserved judgment.
The Role of Jesus in Our Salvation
The name of Jesus - meaning "He will save His people from their sins" - encapsulates the mission and achievement of Christ's life, death, and resurrection. He is the mediator who reconciles us to God, taking upon Himself the punishment our sins deserve. Through Jesus, we are not only spared from wrath but are also granted the privilege of being called children of God.

People in my group keep saying "Forgive". But Jesus said, "And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, SAYING; I REPENT, thou shalt forgive him." Jesus said repent, he didn't say God will forgive even if you continue without repentance. Just saying because I have some people who did a big thing against me in public. I haven't heard one of them apologize. I don't hold seething anger against them.

@richardbrumbaugh6481 God does NOT hate the evil doer. He hates the sin but loves the sinner. That is why Jesus died because of His LOVE. And to disagree with that goes against the Bible where it says in John 3:16..... "For God so LOVED the WHOLE world." The WHOLE world means the WHOLE world that He LOVES.

Luke 13: 23 And someone said to Him, “Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?” And He said to them, 24 “Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25 Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up to us!’ then He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’ 26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets’; 27 and He will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from; depart from Me, all you evildoers.’ Matthew 5: 19 Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches [i]others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever [j]keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 “For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Philippians 2: 12 So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. John 14: 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” 22 Judas (not Iscariot) *said to Him, “Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.

@@Marshill1715 Romans 8 vs 38-39. ”For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.“ ‭‭ Explain what Love that is? Explain what 1 Corinthians 13 says? - ”Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.“ ‭‭ If that isn’t unconditional love then I don’t know what is. Humans cannot love unconditionally because we have sin. God can because he IS LOVE. The reason why so many people don’t experience freedom in Christ is because they believe their sins are too messed up for God to love them. Not saying keep living in sin. But just saying. If God doesn’t love us unconditionally why does his word say past present and future sins are forgiven? He contradicts himself if he doesn’t love us unconditionally. He loved us so much he sent his son to die for us for our freedom. Not for us to think he doesn’t unconditionally love us. Please read those verses and clearly explain how that love that neither height nor depth nor Angels nor demons can separate us from is conditional?

New Covenant Whole Gospel: How many modern Christians cannot honestly answer the first three questions below? Who is now the King of Israel in John 1:49? Is the King of Israel now the Head of the Church, and are we His Body? Why did God allow the Romans to destroy the Old Covenant temple and the Old Covenant city, about 40 years after His Son fulfilled the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 in blood at Calvary? What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below. Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him. He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth. Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? What did Paul say about Genesis 12:3 in Galatians 3:8, 3:16? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart. Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36) We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. 1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. The following verses prove the Holy Spirit is the master teacher for those now in the New Covenant. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Mar 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. 1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. The New Testament Scriptures tell us how to be saved. There, you will NOT find the man-made, denominational mantra of, “We are saved by faith alone in Jesus. Just invite Jesus into your heart as your personal Savior and pray the sinner’s prayer” (a prayer that is also NOT found in the Scriptures). Instead, Jesus and His apostles go much further than that and issue specific commandments for salvation that are presented here with example Scripture references from the KJV. If you are truly interested in learning how to be saved, then please read on… 1. HEAR THE GOSPEL: First Corinthians 15:1-4; Mark 3:10; Romans 10:14. 2. BELIEVE THE GOSPEL: John 3:16; Acts 16:31; First Corinthians 15:1-4. Faith, believing on Jesus, is certainly a highly important commandment, but it is by no means the only commandment for salvation. 3. REPENT OF YOUR SINS: Acts 3:19; Luke 13:3. 4. CONFESS BEFORE MANKIND THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD: Matthew 10:32-33; Romans 10:9-10. 5. BE BAPTIZED FOR REMISSION OF SINS: Acts 2:38; Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Acts 22:16; Romans 6:3-4; Galatians 3:27; First Peter 3:21. Though sinless, Jesus commanded baptism and was also baptized as our example, so it’s a most essential part of the salvation process. 6. LIVE A CHRISTIAN LIFE BY SERVING CHRIST: Hebrews 5:8-9; Matthew 7:21; John 14:15; Second Thessalonians 1:7-9. Think you can be saved like the thief on the cross? While on earth, Jesus had power to forgive whomever He willed, for the New Covenant had not yet gone into effect. We today are under the authority of the New Covenant, which includes these commandments for salvation. Therefore, we cannot be saved in exactly the same manner as the thief on the cross. Ultimately, we are saved through the sacrificial blood of Jesus (First Peter 1:13-21), BUT, we only have access to His saving blood by obeying His commandments for salvation. Don't ever try to debunk these commandments with Ephesians 2:8-9. “Saved by grace through faith” means that we cannot earn salvation by our good deeds or personal works alone. Jesus saves us through His grace as a gift to those who have faith enough in Him to obey His commandments, which are certainly NOT personal works. As Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15 KJV). It's really mind-boggling how quickly many alleged Christians reject Jesus’ commandments for salvation and prefer man-made, denominational doctrines. As Jesus said, "Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men" (Mark 7:7 KJV). “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” (Luke 6:46 KJV). If you really want to be saved, then do what Jesus tells you to do. It’s just that simple.

Jesus said if you have seen me you have seen the Father. There is no separation between the Father and the Son (they are one). Jesus does not save us from the Father he brings us to the Father. This is not the Gospel but the Gospel at gun point. It is the kindness of God that leads us to repentance not raw fear. Where RC gets his 3 definitions of God's Love is beyond me because it's not in the Bible. John twice says God is Love (1Jn 4) but the serpent whispers God is Love but.... The Calvinist system demeans the character of God and undermines the tremendous hope that the Gospel brings. Please study the Scriptures and don't believe everything you are told. The truth will set you free and perfect love will cast out fear. Colossians 1v15-20 Grace and Peace

*Soli Deo Gloria?* But... Are you sure you're not giving the glory to yourself? *Calvinist* friend, why did God choose you? You are smart, you know well that it wasn’t a draw. Therefore… there is only one logical option left, right? And your heart knows it very well. God must have seen something special in you. But there is a BIG problem with that “god” of yours: It’s *UNBIBLICAL.* We know that God doesn’t have favorites. He is no respecter of persons. (Romans 2:11). Therefore, it is *impossible* that God chose you because of something in you. You are not worth a cent more than anyone else. The only reason He did, it's because He knew your response to his call. (Romans 8:29). "... Many are called, but few *chosen.* " (Matthew 20:16) How terrible is that you don't care distorting God's character just so you can feel “special”, better than others, chosen! Because… let's be reasonable, a “god” who, being able to choose, chose the vast majority of human beings to be destroyed in hell, without any option for salvation, is not loving, merciful, or good*. He is not the God of the Bible. Therefore, let us be *VERY CAREFUL* ,lest while trying to give glory to God, we are found to be liars. “ *For the heart is wicked and deceitful above all things.* ” (Jeremiah 17:9).

Only God can guarantee your salvation, not your favorite pastor. Most Christians are blind with love and forgiveness but avoid the partnent factors that drive them. Jesus said "if you love me obey me" what does 'obey' mean? Forgiveness is empty without repentance. Study zakayo the tax collectors repentance particularly Jesus's reaction. Do we make that standard. Besides, he clearly says solve your differences before you reach the judge. The pastor has no power to forgive nor save. You are not saved just by word of mouth but by your repentance (which is practical, not comical)

Wait a minute! According to Paul Washer, John Piper, John MacArthur. RC Sproul and others god causes every single molecule to move and every sin to be committed just as god planned them. For example John Piper Quote:: "God . . . brings about all things in accordance with his will. In other words, it isn’t just that God manages to turn the evil aspects of our world to good for those who love him; it is rather that he himself brings about these evil aspects for his glory (see Ex. 9:13-16; John 9:3) and his people’s good (see Heb. 12:3-11; James 1:2-4). This includes-as incredible and as unacceptable as it may currently seem-God’s having even brought about the Nazis’ brutality at Birkenau and Auschwitz as well as the terrible killings of Dennis Rader and even the sexual abuse of a young child . . ." So how is god going to judge America for something god caused it to be the very way it is? John Calvin said it plainly and all of these fine Calvinist reformed teachers agree. Quote:“The devil, and the whole train of the ungodly, are in all directions, held in by the hand of God as with a bridle, so that they can neither conceive any mischief, nor plan what they have conceived, nor how muchsoever they may have planned, move a single finger to perpetrate, unless in so far as he permits, nay unless in so far as he commands, that they are not only bound by his fetters but are even forced to do him service” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 1, Chapter 17, Paragraph 11) Oh by the way, I always used a small g when referring to the Calvi-god who is no god at all. The God of the Bible is nothing like these heretics false god. Truth in Love

@@Gasowsj8383 I suggest reading the New Testament of the bible and learning the Real, True plan of Salvation. Start with the Great commission passages if Matthew 29:19, and Mark 16:12-16. Then go to Acts chapter 2:37-47. Acts chapter 8 and Acts 22:16 also helps. Romans 6:1-4, and Hebrews 5:7-9 cement things. Either way, unlearn the lies of the modern reformed protestant theology. God bless 🙏

Calvinism is John Calvin, that is where it gets it's name and followers. You say "Calvinists don't believe God is the author of evil," YES THEY DO! John Calvin on evil Quote “The devil, and the whole train of the ungodly, are in all directions, held in by the hand of God as with a bridle, so that they can neither conceive any mischief, nor plan what they have conceived, nor how muchsoever they may have planned, move a single finger to perpetrate, unless in so far as he permits, nay unless in so far as HE COMMANDS, that they are not only bound by his fetters but are even FORCED to do him service” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 1, Chapter 17, Paragraph 11) John Piper states it plainly: Quote from John Piper: "God . . . brings about all things in accordance with his will. This includes-as incredible and as unacceptable as it may currently seem-God’s having even brought about the Nazis’ brutality at Birkenau and Auschwitz as well as the terrible killings of Dennis Rader and even the sexual abuse of a young child . . . You said "nor do they believe humans don't have a will." YES THEY DO! John Calvin quote: “How few are there who, when they hear free will attributed to man, do not immediately imagine that he is the master of his mind and will in such a sense, that he can of himself incline himself either to good or evil? It may be said that such dangers are removed by carefully expounding the meaning to the people. But such is the proneness of the human mind to go astray, that it will more quickly draw error from one little word, than truth from a lengthened discourse. Of this, the very term in question [free will] furnishes too strong a proof…I think the abolition of it would be of great advantage to the Church. I am unwilling to use it myself; and others, if they will take my advice, will do well to abstain from it.” (John Calvin, Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 2, Chapter 2, Paragraphs 7-8) You say "You can't say that calvinists blaspheme the holy spirit by being calvinists"YES THEY DO! God arranges all things by his sovereign counsel, in such a way that individuals are born, who are doomed from the womb to certain death and are to glorify him by their destruction.( John Calvin Institutes of Christian Religion, Book 3, Chapter 23, Paragraph 6 I think you have very little knowledge what Calvinism really is. (Like most Christians) Most non Calvinists look at Reformed Calvinism as just another denomination which they are not! Calvinism is a Cult like Mormonism or Jehohavah witness's etc. Hope this helps you understand how crafty are the Devil's schemes are. Truth in love 1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 1 Timothy 5:20 As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear. 2 Timothy 4:3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,
