Poor thing - her horrible choices in men and constant bad luck in relationships definitely would have been influenced by her abuse in her early life by her mother and the “do anything you can to succeed” mentality. Super interesting video ! Thank you. 🎉

So true. It’s so sad that so many stars of that era ended up in the industry to escape their troubles and then a lot of the time ended up reliving the abuse on both a personal and professional level. I suppose in one way or another it made them into great actors/artists.

My Mom always talked about old Hollywood drama and she hinted that Walken was invited along for Wagner, that it was something going on between them and then Wagner killed her. Its so terrible, I hope the police get the truth before everyone who was there dies. My favorite of Wood's movie is Gypsy. She was so captivating in it. And the parallel of Gypsy's mom and Wood's mom i thought was fitting.

Yeah I heard that rumour whilst researching. Decided not to include it because I couldn’t find anything on it beyond people’s speculation. Definitely way more to the story than any of those guys are willing to share. Apparently due to statute of limitations they can only pursue premeditated murder at this point, which is almost impossible to prove with no hard evidence. 😢

You do this well. With ADD I sometimes struggle to follow a monologue like this but not when the speaker is clear and concise like you. And you pick a favorite like Natalie Wood. I love 1950s Icons like Natalie Wood and Sophia Loren.

Ahhh I love these videos so much ❤ I get so excited when you post a new one and always end up watching them while I get ready for work in the morning… even if they sometimes make me a bit late because I need to watch all the way to the end 😆

Another truely amazing and informative video not only was I captivated by your story telling (well researched and well presented) I love the way you transform yourself - amazing and as lovely as these iconic actresses were back in the 1960’s. Can’t wait for the next instalment - you are very talented!

The look turned out great, I love the hairstyle. I remember reading about Jill St. John and Wagner at the time it happened, but was influenced by media stories that she was a great family friend and was comforting him. But years later, I thought what the heck?! Who would willingly marry someone who murdered his wife. That’s horrible about Kirk Douglas, what a sleaze. I’ve listened to the podcast, You Must Remember This by Karina Longworth, about the first 100 years of the film industry. Interesting, but so depressing on how actresses, and actors too, were mistreated. Especially minorities. I really enjoyed the ones on Jane Fonda, especially since she was one actress who was able to overcome it.

Great video! Love your watch. Is it vintage? For future videos would you be able to list the make up you use for eyes and lips please? I am wondering what eyeshadow/eye liners you used to create the look.

Sure! I’ll make sure to add that next time. Shadow is just a chocolate brown and a shimmery pastel pink. Eyeliner is black pencil. Lips is NYX Peach Don’t Kill My Vibe liner with Day Club and then colour 550 layered over the top xx

And everything vinyl and old Hollywood haha. Thankyou for making this vid babe. I also sing jazz aswell and I made a CD. Also babe be wary of the industry you can play their game but do not sign your life over if u ever do get anywhere in music x and do not sell ur soul. If you know what I’m tryna say. I’d hate to see u choose the wrong path. I may be 15 years old but I am very aware and very awake and I just want to help others. I hope u reply. Also LOVINGG the hair and makeup thankyou so much for posting this vid. I love Natalie woods aesthetic and you fit her along with Sophia soooo well xx 💋

I read a book about her years ago. I can't seem to recall the title & internet searches aren't helping. I think it was either You Must Remember This by Robert Wagner or Pieces of My Heart by Robert Wagner. I see now that her daughter wrote a book about her, so I think I need to try to read that one. I recently watched Father Was A Fullback & thought that was hilarious. I had read Maureen O'Hara's bio & knew that she & Natalie had made many films together. I recently watched an online program talking about dubbers & they had a lot of sound footage of Natalie actually singing in West Side Story & a few other films which I thought fascinating. Never been able to get all the way thru Rebel w/o a Cause. Too melodramatic for me. I've seen West Side Story & Gypsy the most. I've seen Miracle on 34th Street, Ghost & Mrs. Muir, Chicken Every Sunday, Kings Go Forth, part of Splendor in the Grass

I wonder if Natalie Wood’s life was inspiration for White Lotus’ character Tanya? The boat, their partners indiscretions, the obsession with psychotherapy, & the fortune telling.

Dear lady I want to thank you so much for bringing the 50s to the forefront again during my me so much of this is going to sound strange but I'm going to say cuz it's the truth of older cousins that I was in love with because they really styled the '50s and in the '50s you had the movies of the '40s and of course the '50s which put in the forefront not girls but women so even growing up I was not interested in girls my own age I sought out the heroines of the movie nor and dreamed as a Jeane Tierney Ingrid Bergman Lauren Bacall Grace Kelly Susan Hayward Maureen O'Hara Jean Simmons Sophia Loren! I couldn't believe when I saw you my heart just skipped to beat! Eric Sahagun
