I’ll never forget when he was on the Don Lane Show, and he appeared just after Jerry Lee Lewis gave a shocking performance. Gene called him out on it, he said basically you don’t give your audience rubbish, you do your best. I was so impressed by his stance. I love his voice. The duet with Marc Almond is very dear to me. He was an unusually charismatic man, truly one of a kind. Thank you so much for another excellent video!

Wow would have loved to have seen that episode! 🤣 I was shocked at how hard working Gene was, all he did was work. He didn't get into drugs or anything from what I found and really appreciated his fans and loved his music. Just an all round amazing artist and person also 💝 Thanks as always Deidre 🥰❤

@@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv oh Jerry Lee was terrible! I agree with how incredible Gene’s work ethic was, he was a true professional and he could tell how disappointed people were by Jerry’s lack of effort. He got a huge round of applause for what he said and yet there was not one profanity nor any meanness. Classy gentleman all the way. And you’re very welcome my friend!🤗

I went to see Gene at our local music hall in the late 90's. As he was singing 24 hours from Tulsa, a lady in the front row got up and walked out. We felt for him, but when we got in to the foyer after the show, she was being attended to by an ambulance team.

@@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv Produced by Phil Spector. I think it was this recording where Phil changed the vocal credit, for some reason. Need a Spector expert here!
@maxinegray15874 ай бұрын
When Phil Spector rushed to New York to have this song recorded he was told that Vikki Carr had already recorded this song. His group, the Crystals, were on the West Coast so were not available. This is why Phil Spector used the Blossoms but credited his group, the Crystals, with this recording.
@HarmonyHeartsLifestyle-ul5yv4 ай бұрын
@@maxinegray1587 Thank you so much for sorting that out 🥰 I always try and put the correct information in my videos and everywhere I looked online said the Crystals 😕 So it looks like @denisburgess was correct with the Blossoms performing on the track but the Crystals got the credit. Seems a bit unfair but that's how they did things back then I guess. Thanks again for clarifying that Maxine 😁👍💯
